Wow! I loved this restaurant! High quality and the service was so.friendly and personable. I ordered the special.of the day beef rib eye and it was so prepared perfectly with A wonderful glazed gravy. With fresh sautéed veggies and potatoes. Perfect. Beef was slightly over seasoned but I loved my dinner. Definately a must. read more

We first ate at Allegra 4 years ago during vacation and made a return visit this trip. When you first walk in it seems like a very dark room but once your eyes adjust it is just fine. It's a cute little bistro and has a great deal of charm. It is not too fancy but the ambiance is very warm and welcoming and the tables are nicely spaced so you can have a good conversation with your companion. The service was good. We shared an order of prawns with chili, ginger and garlic butter and they were very good. Bread was brought to the table before our appetizers arrived and it was lovely. I kept some of the bread for dipping into the sauce from the prawns. For entrees my husband ordered the tenderloin with huckleberry and morel mushrooms on a red wine au jus. It was very good but slightly over salted. It's a good thing that we don't automatically salt our food before tasting. I had the special of the evening - a pork steak topped with pancetta and brie and it was outstanding. The assortment of vegetables served with our meals was also very good. My husband said he liked my entrée more than his. For dessert we shared a limoncello cheesecake. It was a good ending to the meal as it was very light and refreshing. It was a most enjoyable evening. read more

Fabulous food!!! We enjoyed it so much & hope to travel to Cranbrook again so we can visit Allegra.

There food is really really good, and their employees are very friendly. I have went there a couple of times and I have to say, their butternut squash ravioli is BOMB!! Highly recommend trying it. read more

One of the best in town! Great food and service. Awesome for a celebration dinner. The lamb is always done to perfection.

This restaurant is an amazing surprise! Don't judge it by location in a small strip mall off the beaten track. The food and service were incredible and totally unexpected. The model mushroom and huckleberry salad is truly exceptional. The Icelandic cod was so fresh and delicious! My partner had the lobster and crab ravioli and was extremely happy. They offer many BC wines by the glass and a small but well chosen beer list. We are from Montana and will definitely be back again! read more

Closed down no longer open. They did have great food. Donairs pizza and lasagna were great

Fabulous Mediterranean restaurant in the small town of Cranbrook. Meal was amazing from start to finish and easily one of the most amazing Mediterranean meals I've had in a while Homemade bread was soft and light Starters were very flavorful: we had the risotto crab cakes and smoked salmon salad. Highly recommend Main course: Also delicious, we had the Moroccan smoked lamb and chicken Napoleon pasta. read more

Delicious! The lamb rack is good. Everything on the menu is. Mediterranean style, Italian tastes. We come after work all the time. One of the nice restaurants in cranbrook. My pet peeve? The owner knows us. Very friendly staff but the owner (or family member of the owner) needs to learn to stop ignoring me or backhandedly insulting my choice of dinner wine due to the price. I'm the person paying the bill, not my guests, so don't ignore me, no matter how many times my guests have dined at Allegra. Don't slip in that the previous dinner host paid for more pricy wine either, suggesting my hosted dinner was inadequate... it's not nice. I was surprised by this "table banter" last weekend. read more

Absolutely love this place. Chef Thomas is a genius when it comes to his dishes. The service was awesome. The food is fresh, well plated and of course tasty. Prices are higher but not ridiculous and well worth the extra. read more

Good food. Not a large menu but everything in it is great. Not a big place so a reservation is needed everytime.

Delicious aroma hits you as you walk through the door - always a good sign. Authentic Swiss cuisine with a nice twist on the usual. Succulent meat dishes, mouthwatering sauces. If you can look past the strip-mall atmosphere, you can have a nice evening out. read more

I am a long time resident of Cranbrook, and have eaten everywhere in town. Allegra Restaurant is my favourite place to eat for a nice dinner out. The staff is friendly, and there are great daily specials. The soups are always a gourmet creation, especially love the wild morel mushroom soup. This is the best choice fine dining experience in Cranbrook. We have been dozens of times and never been disappointed. read more

Fantastic meal every time! I highly recommend the gnocchi! The service is always great and the wine selection is wonderful.

Wow! Don't overlook this one! A real chef! Orange Squash soup & House Swiss dressing. Schmecks! Lamb & other mediterranean dishes, natural raised beef, steaks, good wine and really good service. The Moroccan spice bread is way too hard to describe - you'll have to experience it! Veggies el dente not over cooked. In short Vancouver fusion in the BC interior. I brought my Kindle intending to read. I'm an avid reader and there was no way I could. That about sums it up right there. read more

Never had a bad meal here! All locally made from the bread to the pasta and all sauces from scratch

Delicious food and excellent service. Definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a creatively and tastefully prepared meal.

The food is outstanding here! The Owner is also the Chef and you can tell he takes pride in every dish served! The homemade soup was unreal! The portions are fantastic! The appetizers and entree were mouth watering! We are not from here but we will come back here on our next visit! Highly recommend!!! read more

Great meal. There are some creative dishes on the menu and the flavors did not disappoint. I found some of the dishes to be over seasoned but all in all a great meal. read more

When I arrived I was skeptical. The restaurant is in a small strip mall and that usually doesn't bode well. I was wrong. This restaurant is a little gem. Warm friendly service, beautifully prepared food and a cozy ambiance. Everything we had was delicious and really good value for food prepared and presented by people who clearly care about what they are doing. If you are passing through Cranbrook this is the place to go. read more

Highly recommended. Staff were friendly, helpful and attentive, but not overly so. Food was made on-site from fresh ingredients and was delicious. I had a spinach salad and pork tenderloin and would happily have both again. Both food and drink were reasonably priced and we would happily eat there again. read more

I was recently in Cranbrook for my mom's birthday and we chose to celebrate at Allegra. The staff and chef couldn't be more accommodating. I reserved via email and they were quick to reply and respond to any questions. The chef even baked an amazing chocolate mousse cake for our group with just a few days warning. The wait staff was incredibly friendly the night of our "party" and the family and friends who were there all enjoyed their meals. I would highly recommend Allegra for special occasions! read more

Definitely the best restaurant in Cranbrook. In town for work and wasn't expecting this level of culinary attention. Well worth the little extra money. Even better the second time. read more

My only complaint is that the portions are small - even someone like me with a very light appetite may leave hungry after finishing a $30 meal and that's not so great. But aside from that, this restaurant takes the cake - they have delicious food with interesting ingredients and gourmet style that you can't find anywhere else in town. The service is excellent. Prices are high but not out of line for fine dining. If the portions were bigger, they would be perfect. read more

This is clearly the best restaurant in this town. It is chef owned. Small, lovely decor. Food is terrific. Don't miss it.

Visiting from Vancouver for business. What a delicious surprise. Wonderful innovative Mediterranean menu! Accommodated a gluten allergy no problem. Fabulous! read more
