Dr. Costouros is a genius, a master. i can't thank him enough. we are lucky to have the best shoulder surgeon in the bay area. If you have shoulder issues Dr. Costouros is the answer.

I was totally in my happy place. Took the puppies and Oreo-- they had a blast. Even when the right knee was replaced- developed low back pain from the difference between the two. I obviously couldn't run with the dogs- but being able to walk in comfort was totally amazing. Many Thanks to #BradleyGraw MD and his team at #paloaltomedicalfoundation, #MillsPhysicalTherapy, #sequoiahospital joint replacement unit staff.

Did I also look on Google and Yelp reviews before my surgeries? Yes so, here we are. There wasn't any cartilage remaining in either hip so surgeries were really the only option (I don't count continuing with debilitating pain as an option). I ran the gamut of emotions accepting this fact and was immensely comfortable after chatting with Dr. Graw during the consultation. I felt as prepared as could be before the surgeries and supported throughout the process. At first it was daunting to think about back to back surgeries but I'm now so glad the 2nd surgery was performed after I'd stabilized from the 1st one. If this scenario is one of your options, I strongly recommend it versus doing one then some years later having the second one. DM me if you want to chat; I won't go into the reasons here since this review is more about the stellar care Dr. Graw provides. The entire office and care team are a well-oiled, high performance team, seamlessly guiding you through the process. The surgeries themselves went smoothly with uneventful recovery. I'm a year post-op on one side and will soon be a year on the other and can't overstate how thrilled I am. The pain is gone, the scars are minimal and I have my active life back. Thank you, Dr. Graw!!!

We saw several shoulder doctors - all cannot tell if they can do it without the possibility of perhaps needing a reverse shoulder joint replacment until they open his shoulder up. And the surgery can take from 5-7 hours. We saw Dr. Cheung and her command of the shoulder is so apparent. Sensing our apprehension, she said that shoulders is all she does and she "eat and sleep and dream shoulders". She lived up to her reputation and confidence. The surgery took less than 3 hrs, and the pain and recovery was speedy as within 3 weeks, my husband was ready to play pickle ball (his passion) - lol. He was on the court just to hit within 3-4 months. I swear by Dr. Cheung's skills and her staff as well. after a few xrays and MRI, she was confidence that there is no need for the possibility of a reverse shoulder replacement (its when the socket is reversed on the top of the upper arm bone. In addition, she inserted the latest model shoulder where the pin to the upper arm bone is shorter hence less intrusive. There is no doubt that Dr. Cheung is a shoulder replacement SUPERSTAR BAR NONE !!!

I am right hand dominant, and a tennis player. I went in to see her in June 2025 to remove a bone spur in my right elbow that was broken off, causing me a lot of pain and locking. I experienced not an ounce of pain post surgery, and within 2 months of rehab, was back playing tennis and in the gym! I would highly recommend Dr. Emilie Cheung for any shoulder and elbow surgical procedures. She is absolutely the best!!
