From our very first introduction call, Maria was kind, thoughtful, and incredibly helpful, walking us through the process and talking through all our options with ease and care. A few months later, we had our engagement session, which was such a fun and memorable experience! Maria was open to all of our ideas, even when that meant hopping onto a sailboat in Newport Harbor (highly recommend)! She made both of us, two camera-shy people, feel totally at ease, and we had a blast. As our wedding approached, Maria created a detailed and organized photo timeline that was incredibly helpful, not just for us, but for all of our vendors. She worked closely with us to understand which moments and shots mattered most, helping us maximize our time on the big day. On the wedding day itself, Maria was nothing short of amazing. She arrived early, captured every moment beautifully, and somehow managed to organize our big families for group photos without a hitch. Because Maria was so well-prepared and in control of the schedule, we were able to relax and truly enjoy our day knowing we were in great hands. One of the most meaningful moments came just before our outdoor ceremony when the weather turned, pouring rain and heavy wind. As venue staff asked me to make a last-minute call about moving the ceremony indoors, I looked to Maria. Her calm, reassuring presence made all the difference. She told me it would be beautiful either way and was ready to shoot rain or shine. We stuck with our outdoor plan, and just in time, the rain cleared for a stunning ceremony and first look. I'll never forget how comforting and reassuring she was in that moment. Shortly after the wedding Maria sent us a sneak peek of our photos, and they are absolutely breathtaking. Our friends and family can't stop talking about how stunning they are. Her style is classic and timeless, yet bright and joyful. We truly couldn't have asked for anything more. If you're looking for a photographer who is talented, kind, organized, and an all-around joy to work with, look no further. We are beyond grateful to Maria for capturing the best day of our lives so beautifully. Book her. You won't regret it.

My experience with Jennifer Neves was the one significant source of stress in an otherwise perfect celebration. As a calm, organized person, I took every effort to plan thoroughly and communicate clearly. Unfortunately, Jennifer's negativity turned this into an unnecessarily stressful experience. Leading up to the wedding, Jennifer consistently expressed doubts about our timeline and criticized my plans in ways that felt discouraging. During our pre-wedding call, I provided a well-organized list of requested shots--simple family photos and individual shots with my bridesmaids. Despite my reassurances that we were a straightforward group, she insisted we wouldn't have time, remarking that "we're only as quick as the slowest link." She also commented that attending cocktail hour would be "unrealistic" due to my photo requests, despite my flexibility about missing it if necessary. Despite repeated assurances that my bridal party was prompt and prepared, she continued to doubt our plans, even discussing with my wedding planner how "unrealistic" my expectations were. Instead of being helpful, her approach added unnecessary stress, making me feel that she was setting us up to fail rather than offering solutions. Jennifer also fixated on Newport traffic, frequently reminding us how "horrible" it would be on the Fourth of July. This only added unnecessary stress over an aspect I had no control over. On the day itself, traffic was smooth, and she arrived nearly an hour early. However, instead of making use of the extra time calmly, she immediately started questioning whether everything was ready and seemed irritated that the flowers weren't set up--all despite her arriving ahead of schedule. Her negative energy was noticeable, creating tension for my bridal party, to the point that my matron of honor had to pull her aside and ask her to be more positive. Ironically, everything Jennifer had stressed about went smoothly. We finished hair and makeup early, had plenty of time to capture all the requested photos, and wrapped up over an hour ahead of schedule. She even acknowledged, "I typically don't believe most brides when they say they're organized, but I was wrong." While somewhat gratifying, this did little to erase the anxiety and tension she had created leading up to the wedding. After the ceremony, we even made it to cocktail hour--another point she had doubted. In hindsight, I deeply regret how much stress her pessimism added to what should have been a joyful experience. After the wedding, Jennifer's dismissive attitude continued. Upon receiving the photos, I was heartbroken to find that she hadn't captured the individual photos with my mother that I had requested and emphasized as being very important. Instead, there were plenty of individual shots with other family members, but only two with my mother. As a bride managing countless details, I trusted that my photographer would prioritize the key shots I had specified. When I reached out to ask if additional photos were available or edits could be made, Jennifer was unapologetic, blaming the sunlight and putting responsibility back on us. When I asked if any retouching was possible, her response was curt and unhelpful. If I could change one thing about my wedding, it would be choosing a photographer who could bring positivity, professionalism, and flexibility. Jennifer added more stress than any vendor should. If you want someone who will enhance your wedding day and make it feel special, I recommend looking elsewhere.

We had a wonderful experience working with you and the girls already have their "next" sessions planned (those being family beach sessions, college grad sessions, wedding sessions, future grandchild sessions - LOL). You were extremely creative, suggestions were great for unique poses and backgrounds, you put the girls at ease by guiding them through the process. Also, the nice, quick pace was exciting (we weren't rushed, but we weren't stagnant and "posey") and we ended up with so many options that we really felt that we had more than enough to choose from, and all of them interesting and different than the last. You were obviously excited, too and really seemed to enjoy yourself - in other words, your passion showed and I knew without seeing any of the photos that they were going to be great - fun and natural. When we did get the proofs, they were amazing! Not one in the bunch was bad, and there were a lot! And the colors were amazing - you really have an eye for bringing that out in a picture, even before retouching! Regarding the creativity of the session/photos, you are definitely not a "cookie cutter" photographer. You posed each of my daughters uniquely and captured their spirit. You tried things and didn't seem to have a canned routine - no stiff poses that you see all the time. You are very artistic and spirited, and balance that well with your professionalism - that's a great combo! We went to place an order for prints, and then the next great thing was the a'la carte print options. I could put together my own "package" and get exactly what I needed, unlike other photogs that have preset packages (many of which I have had to purchase additional prints to get what I needed but still have tons of extras I didn't need hanging around). You also passed on the 50% off special that your print company was extending to you that month - who does that? You could have very easily not said a word about it and made a nice, tidy 50% extra profit without anyone knowing. That to me speaks volumes about your integrity and honesty as a professional. I trust that everything you offer as a service will be exactly as you say it will be. I have never had a problem reaching you at any point via phone, just thought I'd put that out there... We will see you soon for a family portrait and I have passed your name along to many people that are in need of a great photographer, including some grandmas that have a few first grandchildren in the making. And my daughter has received many inquiries from Bridgewater students. I'm hoping that they are all smart enough to make their way to you.

My bridesmaids and I were all running late due to a mishap with our makeup artists, but no problem- Adam still made the most of it and took as many cute & fun "getting ready" photos of us before the ceremony! Then after the ceremony he made sure to go down a whole list that he had collaborated on with us and took pictures of every single family member and bridal combinations he could. He had us laughing and smiling the whole time! And he even helped my dad by being SO incredibly gracious and letting him take a few snaps of all of us with his special camera, too! My dad was so happy and impressed with Adam, and it warmed my heart to see how well he jived with us and the whole family. He worked amazingly well and so efficiently for all of the time limitations we had as we had a strict timeline. During the reception he made sure to come around and snap pics of all of us having a good time, dancing, including selfies for fun! Adam is super professional and so caring and understanding- he even took down a photo that I felt a little self conscious of my body with AS SOON as I asked him to, for our sneak-peeks. As a wedding photographer, it's so important to be sensitive towards your clientele and he really took extra care to listen to our needs. I am posting our "sneak peak" photos now, more to come later! Having a photographer capture the setting, the details, the guests, and the special moments between a new husband and wife is so valuable, and we are so glad we trusted this to Katie. We are incredibly impressed with the high quality photographs taken during our wedding, and Katie's professionalism. Working with her was one of the easiest and best vendor decisions of our June wedding! She captured moments and details that we will be able to relive forever, including many that we never even saw in the excitement of the day. She and a second photographer, Cullen, were present for nearly twelve hours, and were there with cameras during every moment of the day. We are so impressed with their attention to detail, kindness, and thorough work! We sent a comprehensive list of photographs that we'd like to have captured, and she and Cullen got all of these and many, many, many more, that we never even thought of. The photographs are absolutely stunning, and so very well done, and it was so much fun to see some go up on her blog within a few days, with a great narrative that we could share with family and friends. They arrived four hours before the ceremony even began, getting shots of the bridal party getting ready, the groomsmen, the landscape and ceremony site, and the guests arrivals. Our wedding was scheduled for 2020, Covid happened and we post pond the wedding. They seemed accommodating and had our new date available. We meet with them for our engagement pictures and it went downhill from that point. Our pictures were horrible; they were unorganized and arguing with each other making it very uncomfortable. We decided it was too close to the wedding and to keep them as we had already paid them the full amount and we would lose our money. I meet with Bev to discuss my plans for the wedding. She argued and disagreed with every idea I had. I did not want a first look with my husband even though it is a "time saver" I wanted that moment down the aisle to be special. She disagreed with me trying to convince me for 15 minutes to change my mind. I politely refused. I then told her it was important I do a first look with my father. She did not like that idea at all. She said it was ridiculous to do a first look with my father and not my soon to be husband. She also did not like the idea I was not doing any wedding traditions like cake cutting flower or garter toss. She said "what are we supposed to take pictures of just dancing for hours" I said yes! I want candid pictures of our guests having fun, talking to each other dancing laughing and having fun. When the wedding day arrived I wanted to be in the moment and enjoy it, Take it all in. Everything was going great until Thom showed up. He came in like a whirlwind so much negative energy! The entire wedding staff (Hairdressers and makeup artists, bridal party immediately tensed up and expressed how uncomfortable they were making them feel). Bev didn't even show up the day of my wedding. I had hired two photographers. I was told she was "sick". Later I found out she took another gig (in our initial meeting they said they do not double book). Thom tossed my dress on the makeup artist table. Thank Goodness my bridesmaid and mother saw and rescued my dress immediately and told him to be careful with it. I had to tell Thom to send the other photographer to take pictures of my husband getting ready. They were sitting on the couch talking. We only received a handful of decent pictures! They took horrible side angle pictures. I told them I did not like the side view for pictures and they still took 75% of the pictures that way. I had to keep telling them what to do and who to take pictures of! I was directing family and friends and organizing who was on deck for pictures! They stood around clueless! During our reception I really wanted sunset pictures. They pulled us outside to capture the moment, but Thom had dropped the camera in the parking lot and could not get it to work. While his helper just stood and smoked. After 10 minutes of missing our time to eat I suggested to use the second shooters camera so we could get back inside. We also wanted to take back light pictures with our venue in the background. They set it up so the parking lot was in the background of all our backlight pictures. They then asked if they could leave our reception early as people were only dancing and nothing else was going on. At this point I was aggravated and said fine. We did not get our proofs back until December. Our wedding was in the beginning of September! I had to constantly call to ask what is going on with our albums or prints. Thom was extremely rude! I had tried to contact Bev who was the person I originally had the most contact with. She told me she and Thom were getting divorced and she no longer had anything to do with the company. Thom yelled at me several times stating that we were drunk during our ceremony. That was a complete lie as we didn't drink until the reception. He was the one drunk! He was stumbling dropped his camera several times and was very rude to myself, my husband and our guests. We did not get our albums that we had paid for until the end October 2022! Our wedding was September 2021. I was promised to receive my pictures in a timely manner. When I told him how disappointed I was he began to yell at me saying he's doing it by himself and it has not been a year since our wedding and I was being ridiculous! I think I know when our wedding date was! This was a few of the issues we dealt with, They did a lot more rude and unprofessional things! DO NOT HIRE THEM! RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL

She had so many ideas I loved I did my best not to torture her in regards to themes, ideas, & props. She also had done newborn photography with several acquaintances of mine. The long winding country road I drove that November that leads to her studio should be on the cover of a New England Postcard. The falling leaves and trees I passed set the scene or privacy, nature & serenity! She has a gorgeous home photography studio- set on a picturesque property with 360 degree lake views. Just being there brought a sense of calm over you! Laurie asked me what I wanted and introduced me to her daughter Tiffany who would be assisting her during the Newborn Photography shoot. Laurie immediately got to work & I could tell she was a naturally creative spirit. She has an amazing energy and aura about her that transcends into her work! She took my ideas and transformed them into beautiful art. I wanted to incorporate a "Prince Theme" since that was my sons baby shower as well as a "Peter Rabbit Theme" since that was my sons Nursery as well as those quintessential newborn pictures & a few Christmas pictures since it was next month I could use a few of these for Christmas Cards as well as whatever she suggested which was a "Mother & Me" Picture & some other things I Loved. I loved and wished I could have kept them all (including the proofs)! Most important about Laurie in addition to her spirit was how great and accommodating she was to me and my son. I had no qualms about her holding, posing, or adjusting him. She also gave me plenty of time for feeding/changing throughout the session. You could tell she was a Mom with an amazing maternal side that translates into her photography. My son slept through the ENTIRE photo shoot except for when he peed on Laurie- which she handled- LIKE A CHAMP. She quickly let me know and we got him cleaned up and she just kept rolling! That in and of itself- was amazing! Naturally- I felt bad and apologized and she was like "Don't worry about it" she Shook it Off enduring "it happens all the time"! She also has an amazing room dedicated to Newborns/Kids & Their Mom's/Caretakers in which she has a changing table with all supplies, wipes/toys/etc. Newborn Props & Newborn Outfits as well as an area to breastfeed -which I personally thought was amazing!! She made me feel immediately comfortable and I'm a pretty shy individual! Her young daughter Tiffany was also naturally gifted with photography and newborn posing and appeared to be just as creative as her experienced mother! They made a great team and made me feel great about being a First Time Mom and observed I was very natural tending to my son and stopping to breastfeed in between our 3 hour session. The studio grounds are absolutely beautiful & her backdrops are amazing. I know she also does "themes" and offers full scale sets for some of these I believe such as Fairy Sets (unless that's just an example of her beautiful editing). I've seen her do newborn photography with: Disney Movies, Where the Wild Things Are, Rainbow Baby Tributes, Police Officer Tributes, and really anything you want. WHAT TO KNOW: Laurie is extremely talented and creative and is amazing with both newborns AND parents. She comes highly recommended by many friends and individuals in RI! She is very easy to work with, down to earth and extremely approachable and works with what YOU want! CONTACT HER ASAP to schedule an appointment- because you don't want her to be booked when going into labor and she usually doesn't like to take newborns over 14 days old. The first time you meet her you can tell that she gets inspired by each and every shoot- which is refreshing to work with and see! She is also an amazing and FAST editor- as well! She is my absolute favorite newborn photographer in the State of Rhode Island & I would recommend her to any Mom - especially nervous first time Mom's like I was because she put me at ease instantly and she made the whole process a breeze! Anyone looking to do something Creative or One of a Kind with your child or newborn you have to schedule with Laurie and first time Mom's have to do the Mommy & Me Picture!! I'll love and cherish all these pictures forever! A fun and memorable experience (as it should be) opposed to the horror shows I've gone through at Target & JC Penny.
