We met Sara for our engagement photos at our favorite restaurant and then out on a boat, and what could have felt awkward or staged was somehow completely natural and SO much fun. We left that day even more excited knowing she would be the person capturing our wedding. That feeling only grew throughout the entire wedding process. I also really appreciated the way Sara listened to the specific images and ideas I had hoped for without ever making them feel copied or overly posed. I had shown her a photo of hers which I loved, and instead of simply recreating it, she understood what I loved about it and made it completely our own. That was true throughout the entire weekend. She took the things that mattered to us and found a way to capture them in a way that felt authentic to our wedding. And then there are the actual photos. I genuinely do not have the words. They are everything I could have hoped for and more. They are beautiful, emotional, joyful, romantic, and so completely us. Sara captured not only what our wedding looked like, but what it felt like. That is such an incredible gift, and something we will treasure for the rest of our lives. Her team, Stephanie and Katherine, were also absolutely wonderful and brought the same kindness, professionalism, and calm energy throughout the weekend. He showed exquisite professionalism and was able to work seamlessly with all our vendors and take command when need be. While it wasn't his concern, he guided a very green videographer to ensure that the videographer stayed true to our requests. Even while taking control, he never missed a step or a shot. His ideas and instructions for shots were brilliant and concise, capturing moments both scripted and live with seeming ease and efficiency. During formals he was able to push out a ton in a short time with seeming to lose his cool, despite multiple last-minute requests. This was critical to our wedding because we planned it from across the country. I only had about 2 meetings face-to-face and each time he accommodated my schedule and unique circumstance. Each meeting we knocked out everything I needed to know and more. Each time I met with him I felt calmer about the whole process and I feel like he was a critical part of my ability to keep my cool. On top of everything, he is a reasonable and fair man, helping us to stay within our budget by giving us flexibility in his photography packages.
