I booked a trip through them. I left a day early due to their error on dates on the website/ flyer, and gave them ample notice when I noticed they changed the dates. They told me they could not give any money back. Fine. On the trip, another couple mentioned how they got $200 back for leaving a day early. They also got $750 back each for the company backing out of airfare tickets. We got $600 back. I wouldn't recommend this shop, as there are a few in Pittsburgh area, due to unfair, un organization, and greediness of the owners. read more

Beth is a below average instructor, at best, but is even worse at running a business. We made a deposit for future courses with Beth, but after she took our money, we never heard from her. She had promised to contact us regarding instructor availability as James, who she said would normally teach the course, was recovering from injury. Unfortunately, our need for the courses was of a time sensitive nature, and we were forced to cancel part of our vacation because we had not completed them. Beth never called to schedule a class, nor did she provide any services whatsoever related to the deposited funds. However, she refuses to refund us. She has earned absolutely none of the deposited funds. She didn't even try. I've given Beth several opportunities to do the right thing over the past several months. I've sent messages via the contact us link on her website, and never received even one response. I've talked to her via text message, which for some reason seems to be her preferred form of communication, however unprofessional that may seem. I sent her a written request for a refund in the mail, which she ignored. I even submitted a complaint to the Better Business Bureau. She chose not to respond to the complaint, as you can see on the company's BBB website, where it also shows their current C+ rating. Because I have given Beth multiple chances to do the right thing, and she has chosen not to, I want to caution potential customers. A scuba instructor is someone you should have complete trust in. Beth is not a trustworthy person. She choose to keep money that she has not earned, and ruin any chance for future business from us, instead of doing the right thing. Please carefully consider other options in Pittsburgh and the surrounding area, of which there are many. read more

We got a groupon for scuba lessons. I will tell you that i had the time of my life! The staff/instructors were excellent. We had about an hour of time at the shop, going over information/wavers and a instructional video. Shortly after we were fitted for our gear then we headed over to the Mount Lebanon High School pool for some dive time. Here we went over the instructions given at the shop and put them to use. We had about 2 hours of dive time. The instructors were so helpful and patient with everyone. They have packages were you can become a certified diver and also travel to different locations to meet your dive requirements. ATA & Beth are absolutely THE WORST! I have never seen worse customer service in my life! The pool cleaning package was purchased as a gift for my parents. It was to include the pool opening, bi-weekly visits, and pool closing. Due to a hit and run that damaged the pool, we did not need the service until July 1st. Beth was very hard to get a hold of to schedule the first appointment, but eventually it was scheduled. The first time that she was scheduled to come, clean the pool, and check the chemicals she did not show up. After repeated calls and texts over multiple days she was contacted with a number she didn't know and she answered on the first ring. She said she was out of town and didn't know why her crew hadn't come. She said she would be there by noon the following day. She did not show up until 7pm and only after I called her. The day after her cleaning it was noticed she had not reconnected the filter tubes and the pool had been draining all night. She is supposed to respond to emergency calls, but again was unable to be reached until she was contacted by a number she didn't know and she answered on the first ring. She did come out and reattach the pipes, but claimed that she was not the reason it came apart. The second time that she was supposed to come she again did not show up. She was called and texted repeatedly. I called and told her I wanted a full refund. She claimed she "was on her way over now" even though it was two days after her scheduled appointment. After I requested the refund she stated that she was unable to pay me back right then because she had just paid her bills and had no money in the bank. I told her that I needed, in writing, how much my refund would be and when I would receive payment in full. I never heard back from her. I contacted her again via phone, text, and email 15 days later to state the same thing and again never heard back. I tried calling both of her numbers before filing this complaint and both have been disconnected. read more

I obtained my open water certification with these guys in 2015. It was average at best. The instruction was fine. Jim is a fantastic diver, and he taught me a lot. Beth was awful as business owner. Every visit to the shop was a high pressure situation to buy something that I did not need. They also bring unsafe people to dive with them. Beth and another diver found it acceptable to grab my fins underwater which created an unsafe situation. I do not recommend these guys. There are plenty of other scuba centers that dive much closer to Pittsburgh than them. read more

Absolutely the best place to learn to scuba dive in the Pittsburgh area. They have Instructors and Dives Masters that really care that you get the best training and the time to practice those skills that keep you alive in the under water environment. read more

A few biddies an I had an early day at work and decided to give scuba a shot. We Called and booked a swim that same day!! The instructor was AMAZING! Very Thorough in all her instructions. She really made sure we learned and also had an amazing time. I would recommend 10/10. Will definitely be returning for more classes!!! read more

The absolute best place you could possibly learn to scuba dive. Incredibly flexible so you can fit it into any schedule you need. The owners clearly care about every student they have and will not let you go out there on your own unless they are comfortable that you will be safe with the knowledge you have. They will take all the time needed to perform every skill and definitely don't settle for the bare minimum. I'm going to be doing the Advanced Open Water with them soon and am glad I picked them over the other shops. read more
