First off, I usually only write reviews about restaurants and places of interest…read more But when I walked into the door of this establishment, I decided to take the gloves off and do a review that is worthy of some of the best businesses in oregon, Washington and California. Now before you roll your eyes and say to yourself.. Is he being paid to write this review? Well sort of.. But not the way you might think. I was paid with respect, kindness, generosity and more than what my expectations were walking In. Hate being haggled? Hate feeling like your worthless for having to pawn something to survive? Hate the feeling that you walked away with not what you really needed? I know I do. I have sellers/pawners regret every single time and feel discounted by every pawn shop I've ever been to.. Until today. I can't emphasize enough how gracious the staff was and how grateful I was for walking in the door. If I had a need for more money right this second, I would go back just to experience what it's like to be truly valued. I'm in awe. I have a urge to go out and just buy someone I don't know something just to share the happiness I have right now from them helping me out. Crazy how they, without even trying and knowing really the impact that they had on my day, they were so kind without effort. I might have learned something today.. And that is.. Good honest reputable people exist sometimes without us recognizing them. So I am doing so now. So without wasting any more time. Thank you Sarah for your kindness. I hope and wish nothing but the absolute best for your business. And will continue to promote your growth in anyway I can. So in conclusion.. Run, don't walk as far away from this location you might be, to bring in what you have and be treated like your possessions and you have value. Thank you guys from the bottom of my heart.

I don't usually leave bad reviews unless they piss me off , and THE OLD female manager gal is…read moreabsolutely heartless AND clueless how to run a successful business . I've gone there several times so I can speak to my experience, she sucks!!! Example: they're selling a watch on eBay for $199, I go in , ask about it , she says best she can do is $180 . I explain - hey I'm here with cash , you don't have to pay eBay fees , shipping fees, a guy across 20 states making stuff up and complaining about your watch , I'll buy it AS-IS , would you do 160...nope , she goes on a rant "this watch is $495 , I can't do lower" even though they sell on eBay at about 190-200 all day long and sellers are lucky to get back 160 cash . I get frustrated because they're making me look slow and stupid !, I mean Invicta watches flirt with $1000 but everyone knows they're not worth $100 , I've opened some , they're cheap quartz watches inside so msrp means nothing in some cases . I offered $160 cash on a watch you're selling $199 on eBay and I am buying it as-is and you're being weird to me ??? The poor seller girl , a cute blonde, a beginner was embarrassed for her , you can see it in her eyes . This isn't the first time , I've been to that shop 10 times in last two years , she is a weirdo , some items have been there for 6-12-18 months , OBVIOUSLY you're not hustler enough to sell them , why is she still fighting on items being there for 6-12 months!!! She the manager ??? But hold onnn , god forbid you're in a bind and NEED money and you go with that $495 watch , she will say how its hard to sell for 200 , how eBay fees and customer service and insurance and employees and god forbid it's stolen...and she can only do $40-60 ? Hey ! I dare you , bet me ! If you gave more that $60 -75 on that watch , I'll give you $495 new price but we both know you low balled the seller a TON . I just bought same watch on eBay for $70 , I will go to your shop to test you ! Second review coming . Ps , they are selling it naked , no box or documents ! I'll reply back as soon as Thursday this week

I have been a loyal customer of JRC Gold Exchange since the week they opened because I wanted to…read moresupport a local business. Over the past year, I have spent more than $11,000 with them and always felt that my business was appreciated. Unfortunately, my most recent transaction changed that impression completely. After placing a large order, more than two weeks passed without any shipping update. It took three separate requests before I finally received a tracking number. Tyler assured me my package would arrive the following Tuesday, but when I checked the tracking information myself, it showed that only a shipping label had been created. The carrier had not yet received the package. Because of the delay and conflicting information, I requested to cancel my order. Tyler told me that wasn't possible because the order had already shipped, even though the tracking information clearly showed otherwise. After asking to speak with the owner, I spoke with him briefly. Our conversation focused solely on how I wanted my refund issued. There was no discussion of the conflicting shipping information or the concerns that led me to cancel the order. Since I had paid by credit card, I requested that it be credited back to my card, but I was told a cash refund would be easier. When I picked up my refund, I was handed a large amount of cash with no receipt or documentation. After counting it at home, I discovered I had been shorted by more than $200. I immediately contacted the owner and returned to collect the remaining balance. Again, I was handed cash with no paperwork. Since the beginning of this issue, I have requested three separate times to speak with the owner to provide feedback about my experience. Each time I was told he was unavailable, in a meeting, or out of the office. Despite those requests, I have never received a return call. The true measure of a business isn't how it treats customers when everything goes right--it's how it responds when something goes wrong. I chose to support JRC Gold Exchange from the week they opened because I believe in supporting local businesses. Unfortunately, this experience left me feeling that a year of loyalty and more than $11,000 in business were not met with the level of accountability, communication, or customer care I expected. I will do business with Portland Gold Exchange in Sellwood going forward.

While everyone's experience is different I have a problem with one particular individual that seems…read moreto be a manager. For the sake of scope and decency I am sharing my personal experience. And while we live in a country that does not limit or censor my opinion I know that I can not freely express how I feel. I at least want to let the greater public know my experience was unsettling. To my point... I went in to purchase a pair of earbuds for music. I bought a pair and walked 10ft out of the store to realize that they didn't come with the charging cord. I was gone not more than 30 seconds and went back to find out that no cord came with them. The foul manager tossed at me a c-cord with malice and ill content, not to be a good steward but to pacify and disregard me. So I get home and go to plug them in to charge only to find that it takes a lightning cord. Now mind you they don't take any electronics over 2 years old and these are much older than two years old so I was lied too. It is my opinion that they stereotype and discriminate and profile you based on whether you look like you use drugs. Only thing is I'm sober as a nun which is why it's illegal to discriminate. Do I have a way to prove discrimination? Of course not. But the kind lady he was helping he surely told her how he loves working for Capital Pawn because of the autonomy they give him to make his own choices regarding a customers experience. Well he gave me an experience that was so terrible that I'm writing an essay about it. All I am hoping to accomplish is to reach out to those that care about how people treat others, not just themselves. We live in this world together and it is my opinion that I be treated the same way he treated the kind old lady he was working with. Because if you treat people differently then that by definition is discrimination. Hope this review touches all those that care about how thy neighbor treats his neighbor. God bless you all!
