We needed several large trees taken down that were encroaching on our house, plus a large amount of underbrush (honeysuckle, milkweed, etc.) that had to be removed or trimmed back all along the backyard. Dave Sawyer, the owner, stopped by and gave us a good estimate on Friday with the understanding that the work could be done either Saturday or Sunday. Today (Sunday) he showed up with a crew of 4 and did a superb job on everything. The entire crew was friendly and accommodating. The actual tree climber and trimmer (the skinniest one) was named Cody and he was the hardest working one of the bunch. And very entertaining. Dave gave us a lot of good advice about future things that might need to be done, including my neighbor's property. They worked hard all day and even did a couple things that we weren't expecting. They cleaned up everything very well and left us quite a few logs for firewood. There was no damage to anything. We were given a discount for cash and also a senior citizen discount. We were very pleased with everything and wouldn't hesitate to hire them again. read more

Do not do business with this company! Mr. S* will promise anything but then do a hack job. When you object, he will lose his temper and be personally abusive. On 11-17-22, Mr. S* of All States Tree Care to my door saying he needed to keep his crew busy. He contracted to remove a dead oak approx. 100ft high, with other minor work thrown in for "free". Due to proximity to the house and septic system (which I pointed out in detail), he agreed that the oak would be taken down in sections until 20ft or so remained, and dropped in a clearing. This would be a lot of extra work, so I agreed to an extra $2500 (based on what I had paid to have a similar tree dropped intact last year). He did not meet his contract. There was no attempt to section and lower the trunk. The entire 100ft trunk was dropped directly across the septic system! At that time, he apologized saying, "My fault, I didn't supervise my crew, and they aren't very good", and even signed a statement admitting what happened. While pushing the sale, Mr. S* repeatedly said he would not need any money until the job was completely done. Yet that first evening, with tons of wood still to cut up and haul away, he wrote on the contract a partial payment and tried to get me to sign it. He was pushy, saying they'd leave their truck overnight, I guess like security. I refused, he angrily crossed it out and didn't leave the truck after all. The second day, I noticed his crew taking more short cuts and spoke with Mr. S* about them. The worse was driving his truck across my neighbor's yard without permission, when he had contracted to move the wood by cart to my driveway. He began swearing and insulting me so much other members of his crew came over to intercede. Finally, Mr. S* presented his bill in full, and I protested that he had not done the work promised. He said, "Quite being picky - the tree's gone so you got what you wanted," then again became personally insulting. Finally, my wife wrote a check to get him to leave. read more

DID NOT FINISH THE JOB! Be smarter than I was and listen to the reviews you find online for these guys. They will not finish your job. They are dishonest. Yes, they will tell you they are "arborists" (which is laughable) and they're rates are incredibly tempting, but they will leave you high and dry as soon as they get your money. They also solicited my elderly neighbors for work. They read the online reviews and declined. John got very aggressive with them and they almost had to call the cops. Call a reputable company, pay a bit more and skip the drama. read more

Contracted on 2/27/22 to remove one tree. Included cutting down, stacking wood, grinding stump, hauling brush and debris away, and cleaning up the working are. Took a couple weeks for him to come out to grind the stump after taking my first $1,400. Having gotten that, as of 4/12/22 they still have not returned to haul away the brush and debris. Have made repeated calls to the owner, Dave Sawyer, and he keeps claiming they will be here "soon" to complete the contract. (The contract specifically lists "Haul Brush & Debris." In the meantime, I have a 4-foot by 3-foot tall pile of wet sawdust, branches, and debris overflowing my fire pit. Supposedly final payment is due at the completion of work, per both vocal and written agreement. Much to my chagrin, I wrote him the check and trusted him to be true to his word and complete his end of the work as well. Regrets. The tree cutting work was decent, particularly considering the space it was in, so happy to have them do that. If they'll come back and finish their work, it might even be worth an extra star or two. If not, and dishonesty prevails, then it's hard to trust someone who'll lie to you about what they will do, takes your money, and then refuses to come back once they have it. I had All States to cut 6 dead Ash trees. They did some work and asked for $ after the 1st day. I paid. They came back the next day and worked most of the day and it was Very hot. The guys worked hard and did a good job and cleaned up well. The last day they finished cutting all the trees and did all the stumps but two. I gave them the last of the money because they said they'd be back and left the trailer. They came back for the trailer when I wasn't there, didn't finish the stumps and won't return my calls. I had them do a yard clean up and tree removal late fall. After they left (it was dark) I found they had broken, beyond repair, my patio table. In the tree they removed I had moonlight spotlights. All three were broken beyond use. They also said they would be back this spring to remove the stump and recommend a good tree for replacement. Not hiring them again!! read more
