I had placed a game console on layaway that was advertised and sold as a combo including four games -- the combo was the very reason I chose to purchase it. Two weeks later, when I picked it up, I noticed that one of the games was missing from the box. When I brought this to the attention of an employee, a african american female with braids whom I was not speaking with or too responded in a condescending and dismissive tone, saying, " you know the games aren't actually a combo right? We gave them to you for free...like they just come free with the console." with a smug look on her face... That response was unprofessional, unnecessary, and frankly made no logical sense. The product was marketed and displayed as a four-game combo, and any reasonable customer would expect to receive exactly what was advertised. Thankfully, another associate who demonstrated professionalism and respect simply asked that I bring in the console so we could check. I did, and we discovered that the missing game was inside it and if it was not, she would give me another game.. That simple, respectful approach was all that was needed from the beginning. This situation was never about the game itself; it was about how it was handled. We customer decide to spend their money, they deserve to be treated with courtesy and understanding, not condescension. The tone, professionalism, and attitude displayed by that one staff member reflect directly on the company as a whole. Big State Pawn, please take this as an opportunity to remind your team that customer service is not just about making a sale...it's about maintaining trust, respect, and integrity with every interaction. She offered to hold the drum for me all week since I couldn't get there until Saturday. I work in North Dallas and it was still a bit of drive to Denton, but boy was it worth it. I asked a question about the drum to the owner, Glen, and the first words out of his mouth were, "I know that I'm taking off $15.00 because of a slight tear on the drum head!" I hadn't even noticed it! He then offered to help me whenever I wanted to replace the drum head in the far future. His employee was also very nice. So I would highly recom- mend this pawn shop to anyone looking for a used instrument. They deal in high end equipment and their prices are very reasonable.
