My PT, Ross McCormack, is phenomenal. He worked with me weekly for 3 months on a very chronic and painful condition I'd had for 2 years and got me PAIN FREE through his magical combination of customized exercises, e-stim, acupressure, and more. He was extremely knowledgeable about my condition (SI Joint Disorder) and even offered me ideas on how to adjust my diet and add in very specific supplements to reduce the pain as well as discussing alternative therapies with me I hadn't even known existed. I'd honestly thought I'd "tried it all" (chiro, acupuncture, massage therapy, personal training, + more) but there were other avenues available, as it turned out. At any rate, I trusted him, used all his ideas - and they WORKED! Ross is a holistic healer who looks at your whole condition and life before assessing a course of treatment. He's also kind, patient, and an interesting person to talk with as well. This is important when you see someone weekly for many months! By far the best PT office in the Coachella Valley. I had ACL repair and multiple strength deficits even though I was 6 months out. Vincent, Jesus and Michael are amazing! They are kind, attentive and showed me there is light at the end of this dark tunnel. This is not cookie cutter PT, your exercises are tailored to your specific needs and they make it enjoyable to be there. Stef at the front desk is friendly and knowledgeable. I have found the best therapist I've ever encountered here at All Star PT in Palm Desert. It's not just his touch but the very fact that he actually listens when I tell him why I can't complete a physical movement. So he investigates the muscle group involved, and asks if he's in the right place. Today, I told him how my right hand prevented me from certain actions. I had a complete shoulder replacement in December. In January I went to this facility and can't say enough good things about the team. Even though some times, it was torture, I have a good range of motion after several months and completed my therapy. The front office staff along with Therapists Mike, Vincent, Jesus, Pablo and Brett were awesome. All of them encourage you to reach that goal. I was referred to All Star by my primary doctor. I was told I need a shoulder replacement, and really could not use my right upper arm very well. I had lost strength and range of motion, as well. I noticed a difference after 2 sessions and started to feel stronger. Vince, Michael, Bret, Pablo, & Jesus are amazing. I went to All Star as a referral from my insurance company. It took 3 weeks to get the first appointment. They cancelled my appointment the day of and said I had to wait another 2 weeks. I was trying to recover from a broken ankle, so this has complicated my recovery. When I finally got in, I only went twice. The staff is friendly enough, but I felt like I was being herded in like cattle. I only saw the physical therapist for about 5 minutes. The rest of the time an assistant was giving me exercises from a sticky note, in between helping two or three other people. I did not feel cared for or that I was being properly evaluated and helped. After the second visit, I knew I needed another place if I was going to get better. I was able to get another referral for my previous physical therapist and it's much better. I am the only one at the appointment and I get a good 30 minutes of one on one training and therapy. Recovery is important, so be sure you have someone who is concerned about helping you fully get over any injury. read more

Have been taking golf instruction from Sam for several months. Result: During this period, my handicap has dropped 4 strokes after having been plateaued for months. In addition, Sam has given me several exercises to strengthen my core and to avoid injury. What is different? First, Sam has a 53 year teaching base. Second, he uses a state of art Trackman training studio that enabled me to see my swing mistakes, contrast mine with a range of Pros. I recommend this golf instruction for high handicap and beginner golfers. read more

When you are hurting and you need help- you feel so vulnerable! I developed Plantar Fasciitis after one month in my house here. I tried cortisone shots- not much change. I finally asked the Dr. for Physical Therapy. I chose RET because I had just seen their booth at our Sun City Health Fair. I just finished 19 sessions with RET today!Wonderful ! Very professional staff. The Therapists were knowledgable, patient and encouraging- even when I thought I could not do it. I have been going for physical therapy for over two months s/p Total Knee Replacement. I am so glad that I have been having my therapy here. I went to Palm Desert PT from a referral by my fantastic P.A. Donna Cooper of Kaiser Indio. Using a cane for the past 6 months and having excruciating knee pain from arthritis and years of wear, I needed to get my body stronger to enable a better recovery from planned knee replacement surgery. I went to Palm Desert Physical Therapy twice a week for two months and the results are life changing. In sesson 1 warm-up, I could not pedal once on the stationery bicycle. By session 14, I wasn't limping and no longer needed my cane; and could pedal for 5 minutes on the bicycle. I was feeling so much better without constant knee pain, I bought a small stationary bicycle for my home. At session 15, I was tested by Julia to see if I met all of my/my PA's, and PDPT objectives and I was only short on one so Jessica gave me another exercise to practice at home. The night before my last session 16, I pedaled 30 minutes at home level 1. Today, it's been 2 weeks since I had therapy and I just pedaled 20 miles on my stationery bicycle in 1 day without pain - level 1 and 2. Guess who is not planning on having knee surgery in the near future - ME! My main therapist was Jessica, who was fantastic at keying in to what I needed to do to increase my flexibility and strength. I especially liked how she talked me through the exercises and what impact they were having or would have; as well as additional home exercise advice. My workouts were difficult but manageable; icing after my workout was paramount. On day 1, I was also given a home workout plan which was a series of 8 exercises to do daily. I worked hard and my talented therapists Jessica, Melako and Thomas worked hard at knowing what I needed to do. They also helped with my added balance problem which worked in parallel with my knees issue. The ladies at the front desk were both terrific, other staff is very pleasant, the facility clean, equipment always wiped down after each use, parking easy right in front, and a short distance to I-10. It wasn't always easy as it was 25 miles from home but my great daughter Lena drove me to each session. The difficulty of therapy at site and home and the long distance were all worth it. This therapy was life changing for me, with no pain and limping my confidence has increased dramatically. I never thought I would be mobile again - so my cane, walker and mobility scooter are now in the garage. Thank you Palm Desert Physical Therapy! read more
