Recently All Star Moving Laborers relocated us from Midland to Fort Worth. Jason showed up on time to walk through the house to give us a cost estimate and to verify how much material he would need to order. He was prompt to send an estimate that evening for the cost, which was reasonable, so we decided to go with them. We created a schedule based on our closing date on the new house in Fort Worth. The plan was to begin packing on July 26th, load the truck on July 27th and drive to Fort Worth to unload in the new house on July 28th after we closed. On July 18th, I text both Jason and Monica to let them know that our closing time was scheduled for 1:30 PM on July 28th and that we probably wouldn't be able to begin unloading until 3:00 or 3:30 PM. There was no response back. On July 25th, Jason called to confirm beginning packing on July 26th and we further discussed the plan for unloading on the 28th. Monica called immediately after we hung up to tell me that she thought we were going to be able to unload early morning on the 28th. She had booked another move in Midland for the same evening and was going to try to move some things around. I gave them an hour before finally calling the title company to move our closing time up to 9:00 AM in Fort Worth which required me to wake up at 4:00 AM to pack, clean, and get on the road to be at closing so they could unload beginning at 11:00 AM, because they had double booked themselves. There was never any responsibility taken on their behalf for this mistake. On July 26th, a team of 4 people showed up at about 11:00 AM to begin packing. They worked steadily until about 6:00 PM that evening. On July 27th, they showed up at about 11:00 AM again to load the truck. Loading began and the truck was filling up quickly, they loaded the entire trailer to the brim and there was still a garage full of items and all outdoor furniture and a shed to load. Jason's other truck was in the shop, so he quickly scheduled a rental Uhaul truck. They also loaded that trailer up completely and even had to put things in their vehicle cabs to drive to Fort Worth. I would note that they heavily underestimated how much space we needed and had to go get more materials several times, which caused delays in packing and loading. Before loading began on the 27th, I already noticed that a handle was broken off of my dresser by the packer the day before. He had propped it up there so I didn't immediately notice until I tried to open the cabinet and that particular employee did not show up the following day to load. Jason offered to buy the new handles, but they were a non standard size, so I eventually just told them not to worry about it. Additionally, while we were unloading, Jason pointed out to me that the nightstand from our guest bedroom was damaged. I settled for him to give me $50 dollars for it, so that was taken care of. We unloaded on the 28th after closing and my husband and I helped them out the entire time to move the process along. As we were unpacking in the following days, here are the items we noticed were damaged in the move. A brand new fiddle leaf fig tree was broken on 3 limbs, all of my felt and straw wide brim hats were damaged by being smashed together in a box and disfigured, my husbands euro mounted elk nose piece was broken off, my office desk has paint missing on the sides along the bottom, there is a hole in our couch cushion. I texted Jason and Monica after the fact to let them know about the damaged items and sent pictures, no one responded. I guess since I had already paid, it was no longer their problem. Overall, they were hard workers, they did get the job done and Jason definitely knows what he is doing. Trouble is finding workers in Midland who you can train properly to wrap, pack and load to avoid damages and that wasn't done and we weren't compensated for the rest of the damages. read more
