I want to make something clear before I write this review. I am one that usually does visas,…read morepassports, and related for my travels as Do It Yourself (DIY). In other words, I rarely use visa agents. It is not because I have any issue. It is more of a "value proposition" for me. I have never had to use a visa agent, except this one time. Let me explain. This is necessary, prior to my direct review of Traversal Visa.
I am a US Citizen by birth. I hold a US Passport. I also hold an Indian visa called as an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI). It is a separate document, and needs to be in-synch with my US Passport. As I recently got a new US Passport, I needed to synchronize my OCI in order to use my OCI.
As of 2018, we all know that the various India Consulates General have outsourced their visa management system to Cox and Kings Global Services. I will spare the gory details for CKGS, as you can read their reviews on Yelp. I was one of the people who received poor service from CKGS.
As a result of the poor service from CKGS, I reluctantly hired an agent. That visa agent was Traversal Visa of San Francisco. I had obtained their name from a colleague of mine in Arizona. Like me, that colleague is of Indian background.
I made the telephone call to Mr Keshin Patel at Traversal Visa and found him to be very genial and easy to work with. He was sympathetic. He was more then happy to explain what he does, and his costs for doing things. It was very helpful to work with him. He answered all of my queries. He provided me the price quotations in a timely manner. I did ultimately hire Traversal Visa to get this addressed for me. It cost more then what it would have been had I did it myself, but after my run-ins with CKGS, I was not dealing with CKGS directly again. His colleague Mirissa Gill was very helpful, and patient with me. Mirissa handled my case, and carefully drafted all of the paperwork necessary for the synchronization of OCI and passport details. Mirissa made it very easy for me. I was able to get the documents submitted to the Indian Consulate General in San Francisco care of CKGS, and get it accepted for review and processing. I expect to get my OCI back back within 90 days maximum (we will see).
To anyone, American, Indian expatriate, OCI, perspective Tourist to India, whatever, who needs a good visa agent for India, contact Traversal Visa. They are very easy to work with, and very efficient. They also are pretty competent. They do cost more then a DIY, but that comes with the territory. The additional cost is worth not having the hassles of dealing with CKGS directly. Give Traversal Visa a call if you need assistance. I think that you will be pleasantly surprised.
I wish Traversal Visa all the luck. It is a very competitive market out there, and I want them to succeed. I will be referring people I know to Traversal Visa in the future if the need fits the services of Traversal Visa.
