As I first visited they were renovating the exterior and landscape refresh and I found that to be so important. Residents get to look out their windows and enjoy something fresh and beautiful to look at. Other first impressions were multiple air filtration systems outside the doors of every room. Not sure if that was a 'leftover' from COVID kind of thing or what - but I liked it. Shared rooms were small and good to know is only two visitors at a time. It's hard to imagine it but the reason is purely for function. Placing 3 chairs around I think would be very difficult to navigate anymore. Luckily for those who might not like shared rooms - singles are available. If you've been saving money all your life and here - this might just be the time to spend a little extra if you don't like people around. My friend's neighbor was a pleasant person - and that's what I've found going to these types of places - its not bad to have another nearby... If your friend or family member is here its your job to visit. People make up excuses and there really is no excuse. I was able to slip in 30 minutes before closing after work and anybody can do that. I think visitors are an important part of recovery. You can't visit your friend or your mom? Just keep the excuses to yourself I don't want to hear it.

San Leandro Healthcare Center is a scam. It's had many changed names to runaway from all the bad…read morereviews. To call this "skilled" nursing is a farce. This business is rotten from its core. The administration will cheat and lie to get rid of patients when copays incur regardless of your health condition. They will encourage you to stay only as long as your insurance covers 100% of the cost. A "Safe Discharge" cannot be relied on at all. They will do everything to criminally kick you to the curb before you are medically healthy enough to take care of yourself to avoid copays mounting up. They will bum-rush you out to rent your bed to fresh patients only to avoid billing copays. To top it off, the language and cultural barriers are extremely. Nice workers but confusion is constant. The food sucks and your call lights are ignored. Pray you never experience an emergency. This is your warning... Avoid the San Leandro Healthcare Center.

He's solely dependent on assistance at all times! **He was a patient for 11 days and was bathed ONCE!! (Shower days were Tuesday & Friday's) and was given one on **They FALSIFIED paperwork stating that someone bathed him in actuality his Physical Therapist was the one who gave him a bath. **No one came to look at his bandages to see if they were soiled, leaking or falling off for 11 days! **He's steady pressing the button for assistance to use the bathroom and no one comes!. *He's asking for help and he gets audacious response of, "that's not my job!" (By the CNA) *He's pulling the cord for assistance from an empty bed *He's wearing depends (that the family has brought him) because he doesn't trust the CNA's will come in a timely manner to assist him to the bathroom. *He'd asked the CNA to bring him a bucket with warm water & soap to wash up and the CNA's response is, "It's too late, you'll disturb your neighbors!" *** The physician assistant, NICK COLLINS IS RUDE, he absolutely has NO BEDSIDE MANNERS!! He's talks at you and not to you, he talks down to you, makes empty threats, he assumes EVERYONE is on Medical, the tone he speaks to you is very undermining. Needless to say, I'm VERY displeased Very about the series of events that has happened since my Uncle has been a patient here. My uncle broke his femur bone, so needless to say he's very dependent on staffing until he's completely rehabilitated. He's been a patient for 16 days (as of today)

The food was represented to us by a pretty young sales person as "chef inspired". The food was decent the first few weeks, even showing some creativity. Over the last four weeks it has rapidly declined, in pallatability, quantity and nutritional content. The meals are lacking in protein and fresh fruit and vegetables. The meals depend on a lot of frozen prepared items, like frozen breaded fish, and primarily canned vegetables and fruits. Sandwiches made with packaged lunch meats and salty cheeses are substituted if you decline a meal. You're absolutely required to take vitamin supplements. Meals are high in sugar, salt, carbohydrates with little regard for personal needs or preferences. They promote themselves as giving excellent wound care, but are reluctant to purchase wound care items that might seem too pricey. I've been trying for two weeks to get a medicated numbing spray to ease in the painful procedure I'm put through daily. The facility had a recent change in Administrators, and while the previous administrator was largely ineffective in making a lot of changes, under the current administrator of about a month, there seem to be fewer CNAs on duty, more CNAs and nurses working double shifts and not up to their usual efficiency, and poorer quality meals. The current administrator hasn't even made the time to introduce himself to the residents leaving one to wonder if he's leveraging patient care against budget constraints. Or maybe he's just not interested. Don't leave your loved one here unless you're prepared to advocate and participate in their care.

The best part of this facility is the people working here! Everyone is truly caring from nurses, social workers, pharmacists, admission, doctors and more. This was my first experience with a skilled nursing facility, I was impressed with how much they do for the patients to keep them taken care of, fed well, entertained and on the way to fast recovery. My dad himself has expressed his gratitude multiple times towards all the care takers that assisted him, he felt especially at home when some of the nurses spoke to him in his native tongue. He recovered in just a week. Admission was fast and accomadating. They took care of connecting with Insurance company and helped my dad to move in first before I had a chance to go the next day to fill in paper works. I met the entire care team and was really impressed with their patience and attention to detail. I had left a note for them on a few things about my dad's condition and they promptly scheduled a meeting with me to go over them line by line. If anything, my whole family felt heard and taken care of. Definitely recommend the place!

She had physical therapy, played bingo 3 times a week and worked at least 2 crossword puzzles each day. While everyone was caring, a special shoutout goes to JoAnn and Evar! The director of activities was especially nice as well. While no one wants to see their loved one go into a facility, sometimes there is no other alternative. If the need arises, I highly recommend Valley Pointe SNF. My mom, Ms Bennie, transitioned at Eden Hospital, on October 15, 2025. Thanks to all the staff who made a difference the last 3 1/2 months of her life. Barbara Cogar Daughter

Stayed here for 8 days. They provide a list of short-term and long-term drug treatment programs that you can call every day you're in here. Programs are more likely to have a bed ready for you if they know you're already waiting at a detox facility. I know people talk hella smack about this place, but it was a godsend. And free. They asked me if I had 50 bucks I could give them when I first showed up and when I told them I didn't , they still welcomed me in. This place was a step up from where I was staying so I guess everyone's perception is relative. If you're looking to get into a drug treatment program this is a good first step. I went in 2009
