I understand it is a complex project that involves both gas and electric, and it took several months just to get the permits. It took my project 9 months to complete. I've had neighbors who got theirs installed by Reliable in 3-4 mos. There were problems I suppose with management organization and things cost me a lot more than initially quoted due to a myriad 'what-ifs'. But it took forever to organize a final inspection. There was little training and seems the expectation is you will figure it out. A couple months after the generator was installed I found the manuals INSIDE THE GENERATOR and they were soggy from the sprinkler system. I guess I should have known they were there and pulled them, but I was oblivious. I asked for replacements because they smelled and were stuck together). NOTHING came. No matter; manuals can be accessed online. The spiel given by the salesman does not mean much. Whatever (s)he says, your costs will likely rise and ongoing maintenance has hidden costs. I am assuming it is the same with every generator installation, so I can say my experience is just average.

Mine, unfortunately, is on my roof but there is there an access ladder on the side of my 3 story townhouse. (important to note that my AC is also on the roof and I get that serviced) So thus begins my story. Reliable was recommended by a neighbor to service my all house generator, so I reached out and scheduled an appointment as they were also recommended by the brand of generator that I have. I purchased an annual service plan and they came out quickly, replaced the battery, did a tune up and helped me get it up on line with the app since I didn't have wifi when the generator was installed. I was very pleased with the level of service. Fast forward 6 months when I got a service disruption message on the app. I called to have them come out. Their service rep shows up to do the work but says he has no ladder to to access the ladder that is on the side of my unit and that someone will call to reschedule. I wait 5 days for them to call and then call them back and they say they will be there the next day. Great. The next day I get a text confirming they will be there and that I am the 2nd appointment. 5 hours later I call to see if they are still coming and then they tell me they don't have the right technician or equipment to do the job. All of a sudden it's a 2 man job and they don't have the people to do the work. This back and forth trying to get the unit serviced went on for a couple of more weeks. Customer service is very hard to reach. They will not put you through to the manager, Daniel, they say they are going to call you back, they don't- I actually had to have someone else call from a different number and a pretend address to get through to a live person. Ridiculous! Long story short- they did the right thing and fulfilled the maintenance contract that I had and then promptly sent me an email that they were cancelling future work on the unit given it was on the roof and hard to access. So the three star rating is for knowing their stuff when they actually show up, and fulfilling their obligations which I appreciated. I just wish it hadn't taken so much work. And know if your generator is easily accessible you may have no problems with them. As for me, I reached out to the generator company to let them know of the challenges I had and that they should make note before they recommend Reliable that they should ask where the generator is located.

They never fixed anything and left me frustrated and worried. The day after Christmas, I called Perfect Electric and they had a technician, Brian, at my property within two hours, which already impressed me. As soon as Brian walked in, he diagnosed the issue in about five minutes, it turned out the problem was actually FPL's fault and the meter needed to be changed. Brian clearly explained what was going on and confirmed that nothing in my house was causing the issue. He was professional, calm, and clearly very knowledgeable. To my surprise, he wouldn't even charge me for diagnosing the problem. That level of honesty is rare and deeply appreciated. This company is honest, quick, and truly looks out for the customer. If you are having electrical issues and getting nowhere with FPL, call Perfect Electric and ask for Brian, you will not regret it.

I set an appointment for 2 weeks out and the gentleman I spoke to said he'd call the day before to confirm. The "day before' arrived but I didn't receive a phone call. As we approached the afternoon, I called up to see what was happening but only got a voice mail. I left a message and hoped for the best for the next day. On the day of the appointment the guys were a no show. My wife called up and got a hold of someone who had no idea about the appointment and in general sounded very confused about the schedule. He said he'd call us back with an update but never got back to us. We called one more time and got the voicemail again. At that point I just gave up. One star for Perfect Electric. Not reliable and not responsive. Wouldn't recommend them at all.

They worked with my travel schedule and put in underground electrical run from generator to house when I was away and came to do inside work, as needed, while I was home. While we are still waiting for a final/final approval from City[they changed the requirements for the transfer switch at the last minute] the generator and all inside electrical work[ATS, etc] was completed and installation runs[well] since August 2022. We have had one outage and it started up & ran well for 1-2 hours. Shut itself off when power came back! Main thing that differs them from others I asked for quotes is that they do the whole job[survey/permits/electrical/etc.], so you do not have to hire a surveyor & electrician as many other companies I called would require - it makes a big difference, in my opinion. Also, while it has been eight months since generator is operational, they have not pushed for any payment[last 25% is due after final City approval]. Their electricians[& their employees - no outside contractor] were excellent and they were able to work with power live without requiring/waiting for FPL for a disconnect & reconnect[saves time!]. I have recommended them to two neighbors whose installation should be quicker as they are using standard propane units with lower capacity, etc. From what I understand, Generator SuperCenter of Florida is one of the top two Generac dealers in the USA and they do carry inventory of typical units used by most residences. I have owned many generators before on boats[one had two 30KW units], so I am familiar with them - I have looked/inspected Generac unit once it arrived and while it runs - I'm impressed with design/installation, etc. My diesel unit uses a Mitsubishi engine w/ turbo connected to a quality brand generator, etc., so far, so good!

The price only went up after they knocked a huge hole in the cement wall outside so I was a little pressured to do it. The job was supposed to take 5-7 days. It took months! Months of having a gigantic tunnel under my home. Filling with rainwater, a huge whole in the exterior wall, and my back pavers destroyed. If I didn't call them daily, they wouldn't show up to work. When I did call them, they seemed like they had no idea about my project. Again, this went on for months. When it finally came time for an inspector to approve the job they laughed at how bad it was. The original leak was still leaking. They said it was unsafe and it fails for many reasons. In the end I don't even think the original leak was fixed as the problem that made me want to have it fixed is still there. There's so much more to write but it would be too long. Every day for months was a disaster.

They sent a plumber on 4/27/2026 to provide an estimate to pull a city permit. He told me it would cost $1,200. I was astonished because the architect who drew the plans told me it should only cost around the city's actual permit fee of $500 to $600. When I refused the initial price, the plumber went outside to talk to his boss, came back inside, and lowered the price to $900. Because I was in a tight spot and needed the permits and approvals to finally resolve this issue, I agreed. Next, a woman in the office tried to insist that I pull a "structural" permit instead of just a plumbing permit. I did not ask for this, nor was it necessary, as the remodel did not involve any structural issues. She kept insisting, but I stood my ground and said no. They finally agreed to pull just the plumbing permit, as requested during my initial contact. After I paid the $900, they pulled the permit and emailed me a copy. I waited and waited, until one day I received a violation letter from the city stating that I was going to be fined because an inspection was never requested. I was shocked; navigating that process is the plumbing company's job, and I had no idea how it worked. I frantically tried to call them, but their phones were not working. I then contacted the city, and they informed me that I could not schedule the inspection myself, but the company had to do it. The city provided me with the owner's phone number. When I called him, he calmly said, "Oh, yeah, our phones are down. Send an email to Tiffany and she'll make the appointment." Tiffany scheduled the appointment for the next day. However, when the inspector arrived, the plumber never showed up. It was just the inspector and me. I had no idea how to proceed or what to say. The inspector told me he could not pass the inspection because he needed the plumber to explain the materials used and the remodeling process. Desperate and in tears, I called the architect who drew the plans. Thank God for him--he told the inspector he would handle it and briefly explained what I had been through with this bathroom. The inspector accepted his explanation, and thankfully, I passed the inspection. In summary, MainLine Plumbing was completely unprofessional. They tried to take advantage of my situation to make me spend more money by upselling and price-gouging me for a "structural" permit I did not need, on top of an already expensive plumbing permit. They were unreliable with their communication and follow-up. To make matters worse, they left me to handle the inspection alone when they should have been there to answer questions or address any issues that arise. It was a terrible experience!
