Lance and his crew just finished a kitchen addition and remodel project for us, and I cannot say…read moreenough about his integrity, commitment to quality, communication, fair pricing, and flexibility. First of all, Lance stepped in when our original contractor had a medical emergency and could no longer complete the project. Lance was doing the footer work on our project and agreed to pick up where our contractor left off (with the same budget and timeline), and without much time to get to know each other and talk through our plans, I think we all crossed our fingers and hoped it would work out. It did. Beautifully. Lance navigated with ease and grace numerous city permits and inspections and so many supplier issues and architect flubs, including an incorrect measurement that ultimately required us to add a partial bathroom renovation to his contract. He personally checked on every aspect of our project, correcting work when it didn't meet his high standards and making sure his workers and subcontractors met deadlines and his expectations for workmanship. Every time I brought him an idea along the way, Lance was up for it and helped me figure out how we could make it work (much to my husband's chagrin at times!). When we called, Lance always answered, and he stayed in communication with us when we weren't on site, sending texts and pictures of progress daily throughout the almost 5 months of our project. After a few months, I trusted Lance to make decisions in my stead, and that says a lot, considering my Type A personality and specific design sense. He respects old houses and understood my aesthetic vision as well as my desire to preserve original elements of my 1940 cottage wherever possible. The end result speaks for itself. We consider Lance a friend now, but I think my hound dog Sadie misses her friend Lance and his crew most of all. Luckily for her, we have already called him about our next project.

I spoke with Lance and he scheduled a site visit to inspect my parents house in Knoxville. After site visit, I received a cost estimate for repairing water damage to main bathroom floor and replacing old toilet. We discussed further details and proceeded with ordering the flooring, toilet, and bedit seat. During demolition, his crew noticed subfloor was also damaged (see pics). I was notified right away, they had to purchase subfloor and a change order was submitted. Work was completed within 2 days and my parents were very happy with the finished work. All billing was done electronically, and receipts were autogenerated. We have a few more mini projects in the house and will contact Lance again. 5 starts for Big Bear Construction! I highly recommend for all your restoration needs.

He wanted us to be 100% happy and wasn't looking to make a quick buck. This is a person who values integrity and a job well done. He and his team did great work and communicated well with us. Joseph was kind enough to share his expertise on various home repair stuff. It's nice to know why something needs to be done, rather than just being told it needs to be done. Joseph was also remarkably good at following up on details, and is a bit of a perfectionist in the best possible way. The company that was contracted to repair our gutters didn't do the job quite right in one corner, causing water to pour off the gutter when it rained. Even though he'd already been paid, Joseph didn't rest until the company came out again to do the job right, and on top of that he sent one of his men out to add some flashing in that corner as well. We are super happy with the repairs, and things are in a better state now then before the tree hit. We'll definitely be using Joseph again in the future!

From there, he gave us the expectations a job of this magnitude would include, and sent us a scope of work. He kept us constantly updated when any portion of that scope had the potential to change, and his team was punctual and professional, completing their work within the timeframe provided, and had friendly, helpful attitudes. We plan on hiring Joseph again for other projects in the near future. His honesty and integrity was refreshing; I never felt like he was trying to add-on unnecessary repairs or charge me an excessive amount for his time. I trust Joseph to give me true and accurate estimates for needed work, unlike some contractors I have worked with in the past, who either don't have the knowledge or focus Joseph and his team display while on the job. Thank you Joseph & crew for making this large repair easy for us, giving us peace of mind and professionals we can trust and rely on.

I happened across Bizzy B's info on Yelp when I was looking for a plumber, and when Justin stopped out to help with that issue, he told me they could also take care of that entire (extensive) list, with no problem. Lance and Justin did, indeed, take care of that whole list, not the least of which was an exceptionally large fence in our yard that I was pretty sure we would have to scrap within the year. They said they could power wash it and paint it up, and it could have a lot more years of life AND look good. I thought it was worth the chance, considering the price of a brand new fence, and I was surprised beyond my wildest dreams that it could even look this fantastic! All of the work was excellent, and almost as important, they were both extremely friendly, took the time to interact with the dogs when they were in the house, and genuinely felt like friends in the couple of weeks they spent here. I know I probably wouldn't have been that upbeat and kind if I had spent all day baking in the sun when it was approaching 100 degrees. Overall, super impressed...and so are the neighbors. I'm sure they will have more business from our neighborhood, and I'll be recommending them every chance I get. Thanks so much Bizzy B!
