I'm not surprised that he still works there. Women, and men, don't go here!!! It's a hell hole. it's not even in Malibu! There Malibu house burned down. It's in Agoura Hills! It's a nice place but I'm sorry, it's NOT MALIBU!!! False advertising! A friend picked up my belongings but I'm still waiting for them to ship me my purse, credit cards and other items. DONT GO HERE FOR YOUR RECOVERY!!! A lot of the staff and counselors are good but it's not worth it in my opinion unless you want to be drugged out , 1 counseling session in 3 long drawn out week while the pneumonia took over and the dehydration started. Thanks for reading this. Have a great day everyone! On other thing, my family member and I both complained and they did nothing even after seeing my grossly swollen feet, ankles and legs. I could have died. I'm just so very grateful to be alive!

I could write a book on all of the illegal things going on there, but I will just mention a few that stood out to me. Most of their staff are family members and completely underqualified and speak little to no English, every two weeks the person who runs groups would quit or be fired so many days there was just nothing going on or any program, I became friends with one of the staff members and they told me all of the scams and fake billing they do, they bribe and pay people to relapse so that they can get the $10,000 for a few days to detox them, their whole entire sober living everybody was getting high, when I told them that this was so wrong and I was leaving they just prescribed me a ridiculous amount of Xanax which is my drug of choice and opiates and just let me chain smoke and get high next to the pool and not go to groups and order food on their doordash. They don't care about recovery they just care about money

I had pneumonia when I came into this place. I was found unresponsive on the floor in the bathroom…read moreand was taken to the ER. When I came back, I was lying on the couch, and one of the residents started slapping my leg, telling me, "Get up, get up! You have to move. Get up!" Because I was so out of it after just coming back from the ER, I jumped up without really knowing what I was doing and told her, "Don't ever touch me again." They gave me my belongings and made me walk home in 60-degree weather while I had pneumonia! I ended up getting so sick that I had to go back to the ER, and I almost died. I did nothing wrong. Another client touched me, and then they tried to go back to my insurance company and claim that I was aggressive, when I had literally just returned from the ER and could barely move. They don't care about their clients. They care about the money. Admissions treated me horribly, and I ended up costing my insurance company thousands of dollars in treatment because they sent me home when I was seriously ill. They could have killed me. Don't ever go to this place. They're horrible. They don't care about anybody, and they don't care about people getting sober. They only care about the money.

Christina designed teas for pain, bedtime and stomach upset for me…read more She was cautious in asking if there were ingredients i shouldn't have, and reviewing my symptoms to achieve my goals. I requested 3 teas, Pain, Bedtime, and Digestive. Christina did this out of her healing nature and care. With the tea for pain I noticed reduced arthritic swelling in my hands. The digestive brew...o my, I can't express how much I love it. The taste of licorice is sooo good. I always want a second cup even though my tummy settles! Bedtime, very soothing and relaxing. In fact, when my ADD wants to take charge, I brew a cup and it helps me breathe, comfort myself and lower the energy. If you haven't tried her teas see what they are about. The staff would lay on the couch with blankets on them as if they were home and watch movies and, during this time they wouldn't address my issues I was having!! Hands Down the Best Mental Health Program Out There…read more I can't say enough good things about Elevations Behavioral Health. It's hands down the best mental health care I've ever experienced. The setting is incredible -- beautiful houses, exercise equipment, pools, jacuzzis, and so many community resources. They even take you on outings to the Pacific Ocean to watch sunsets -- and yes, you *will* see dolphins! From the residential program to the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), every detail is thought through. The Santa Monica Mountains surround you, and the views are so breathtaking you can sit for hours just taking it all in and really feel yourself start to heal. The food is next level too -- they have a private chef who customizes meals to fit your diet and treatment needs, with tons of healthy options. And unlike most places, you get both individual and group therapy *every day*. That's almost unheard of at a residential program -- usually you're lucky to get one or two individual sessions a week. The staff and therapists are absolutely amazing -- they genuinely care and don't let you give up on yourself. If you're struggling, please know you're not alone. Getting help is the best thing you can do for yourself. Elevations changed my life, and it can change yours too. You *are* worth it, and you *can* do hard things. First NONE of the photos on here are of Oceanside Malibu except for the last one; the dark dingy…read morelooking one. How this place is still in business is beyond me. This place is nothing more than a trap house staffed by individuals that look like they're still in their active meth addiction. Either that or they don't offer their staff dental health benefits because half of them are missing teeth, and look like they just arrived from the nearest homeless shelter. It's dingy, the common areas are carpeted, it's dark, and filthy. Their idea of a 'luxury' private room with king size bed was adjoining two queen size beds together. And they couldn't even do that properly as there was nothing keeping them attached. Therefore you can fall right down the middle. Pathetic. One staff member not only used expletives like a pirate but also managed to call me a Masshole (cause I'm from Massachusetts), only to then give me tips on how to tell good meth from bad meth! Having driven 6 hours to this dump I thought it best to spend the night since it was already dark outside. But first thing in the morning bright and early I was out of there. Though they didn't make it easy. They begged me to please stay even offering to walk my dogs (I brought with me) on my behalf and even take them to the dog park multiple times a day. There I was thinking to myself, 'I don't trust you with MY well-being much less my dogs well-being'! And so I left and hightailed it back to my home. I didn't think a place like this could exist in Malibu, but what this taught me is that even in Malibu one has to do their due diligence in researching a facility. I have since then heard from other individuals that this is a 'body broker' type of place. If you don't know what a 'body broker' is, Google it. Essentially it's when they pay (in one form or another) for someone to get high/use so they can bring them in and charge their health insurance. Alternatively it can also manifest as specifically seeking those in active addiction (regardless of their wanting to get sober or not) and paying/convincing them (one way or another) to come in; and as you may have already guessed: charge their health insurance. It is because of places like Oceanside Malibu that the recovery industry needs to be much more stringently regulated. A place like this dump should not be legally allowed to exist.
