These guys are family. I have bringing my dog Nora to Wag 'n Woofs since I rescued her almost 5…read moreyears ago. They have been absolutely amazing. I really appreciate that this is a family-owned small business and not a large chain like a number of the other local doggy daycare/boarding facilities. They get to know all of the pups super well. They are really "blossomed" the past year and a half in terms of offering tons of fun theme days where you can get photos of your dog dressed up and participating in activities (bunny ear photos and Easter egg hunt for Easter!) They also post fun updates to social media and have tons of cameras so you can check in on your pup throughout the day if you choose. They have helped me out soooo many times including when I have been running late for the pick-up or reaching out for a late reservation or an add-on service. The ability to be able to have Nora get groomed, nails clipped, and her anal glands expressed all during a regular day at daycare is amazing and so convenient. When we moved just over a year ago, we literally made sure to keep in mind the distance between us and Wag 'n Woofs because bringing her elsewhere was not an option. Thanks so much for all your team does!

It's fun to see all the pups play throughout the day. The camera is also how I know my dog likes some workers more than others and when he is (or is not) having a good time. With any doggy daycare sickness tends to travel around and my dog has fallen sick from daycare before. Something to be aware of. Overall a good daycare for your pet.

They don't do clicker training (as is touted on their website). The bootcamp consists of a lot of time in a crate. Our trainer was incredibly kind but often she was visibly stressed out and exhausted. Despite doing our assigned homework, our dog really never connected with the training. Each week is supposed to teach a new set of skills, before "dog walking week" even started, our trainer suggested we use a prong collar. I know many people use negative reinforcement in training, and that is their choice, but the whole reason we chose The Canine Coach is that their website repeatedly states they only use positive reinforcement. At the end of the 4 weeks, our dog hadn't really mastered any of the "12 reliable behaviors" that he didn't already know. Lastly, the additional in-home training was absolutely beyond unprofessional. The trainer showed up and was--for lack of better description--uninvested. When we asked for suggestions regarding our dog getting excited about squirrels during walks, his first and only suggestions were to use a prong collar or shock collar. He didn't ask what we had tried or anything, he just immediately went for "shock collar" because that's what he uses for his dog. Again, I understand that some people choose to use a shock collar or prong collar, but we deliberately chose The Canine Coach because they allegedly only use positive reinforcement. The trainer then half-heartedly did some recall practice before checking his phone repeatedly and then cutting our session short by 20 minutes. We haven't booked our second in-home training session. tl;dr No clicker training. Repeated suggested use of negative reinforcement. Sessions cut short. Dog didn't learn anything new.
