Dropped off the flywheel for my s2k to get resurfaced and they had it ready within 2 hours. Great quality service at an even better price!

J&J Axle Supply

J&J Axle Supply

Everyone who needs a CV axle or rack and pinion needs to know about this place. I had a passenger…read moreside CV axle that was failing and spent a good week doing research. Basically my options were pay $500-$800 for an OEM axle, not including labor (for a 15 year old sedan? no thanks), or pay $300-350 for an after market axle + labor (quotes ranged from 5+ shops). Most everything I read about after market axles and generic re-branded axles (auto zone, napa, advanced auto parts etc.), was bad and that they likely would fail within 1 year. Yes they have lifetime warranty, but you still have to pay for labor again or do it yourself. I stumbled across J&J and finally found a place that did OEM re-manufactured! $140 for my axle vs $120 for generic rebrand vs 500-$800 OEM? No brainer. They do all their manufacturing in house and when I spoke to them they actually do it for a bunch of dealerships as well. They will do the labor too, but only on Saturdays. Brought it in and was ready in a couple hours for a VERY reasonable hourly rate, likely cheaper than whatever your local mechanic charges. I was out the door for $320 w/ 1 year warranty. They had my old part sitting on the counter waiting for me to show me where it was leaking and why it was leaking. Seems like they do a lot of work for trucks and custom lift/drops, but they likely have your sedan/suv/minivan parts as they did for mine. Highly recommended! I'll update my review if the part doesn't last.

On a brisk and balmy day, I sauntered into this plaza in Santa Ana in need of a specific part for…read moremy 2012 Acura TSX, 4-cylinder. Lo and behold, she ordered the correct part... a lifesaver. This former bolsa auto parts has been around since forever. My father used to order parts here all the time before he retired his auto mechanic shop. Even today, I was able to come in and talk to the owner buying an expensive part for a great deal for my Acura TSX to fix my check engine light. You should definitely speak to the owner here as I saw her juggling 2 phones while speaking in many languages (English, Vietnamese, Spanish). However she can multi-task and still cater to me, helping me to order a part that fits my car perfectly. It is located in the plaza and there are ample of parking spaces. This store has been a lifesaver for my car and it seems that the owner has a lot of spaces and inventory to store a lot of parts. Most parts when ordered, will come within 2 days. I am glad I made the long drive from Huntington Beach just to this location solely due to the convenience and value. Yes, it is just that good.

This place is either incompetent or purposefully shady. I called to check on availability of an…read moreauto part and the price. I get quote a price on the phone and its available. 30 minutes later I show up, and it takes another old man literally 10 minutes to write down my VIN to check if they have the part. They have the part, but it's priced higher. He checks with the other guy who quoted me the price, but that guy doesn't remember telling me original quote. They give me a discount, but it's still higher than what was said on phone. So you guys determine for me, whether they're purposefully doing a bait and switch and wasted my time. Or they're senile and can't remember anything. Either way, they need to all retire and shut down the business because it's just terrible all around.

I decided to give Engine Supply a try after my previous engine developed a major oil consumption…read moreafter a rebuild. I have yet to disassemble and determine the cause on that engine. I needed some cylinder head refresh work done on a replacement engine and took my head here. It's for a bmw s54 engine. I understand Engine supply does a lot of domestic work but will also do European and Japanese engines. After speaking with one of the guys, I found out that it's a family owned and operated company. The guys are definitely knowledgeable. The cylinder was picked up and was in great clean condition as expected by a good machine shop. What impressed me was they took me to the back to show my cylinder head during assembly when I dropped off my valve seals. The shop is well organized and clean. When I picked up the cylinder head, the Machinist who worked on my cylinder head also mentioned that the valves were returned in the exact order it was removed, which makes putting the shims I removed back it the same order easier to adjust the valve clearance on assembly. The cylinder head was assembled back into the used block. And is now running in the car without any oil consumption. It has done multiple track days without issue. I'm very happy with their work and can vouch that you are getting top notch quality work. Thank you Engine Supply Team! -Clarence
