There was no creative pruning; these trees simply had their tops lopped off. Despite the fact that tree experts recommend AGAINST topping, Potanovic's crew complied with this request. Why on earth would an "arborist" inflict damage that is likely to kill the trees? I gave them one star because they're pleasant and no one was hurt during the massacre. Other than the trees.

ATLAS TREE SERVICE IS *EXCELLENT*!…read more We had been delaying having several large trees removed from our property--partly due to the exorbitant costs we were being quoted, and partly due to the enormity of the project and concern for potential damage to landscaping on our (and our neighbors') property. The job was also complicated and worrisome because the trees were among ConEd electrical lines. By chance, we had seen an Atlas Tree Service truck while driving. A quick Google search showed a 4.9 (out of 5) star rating with over 200 reviews. We called Antonio (the owner) who came over promptly. He provided a quote and to our delight, his prices were more than reasonable (by a large margin). After a week's worth of work which included trimming all the smaller trees on our property in addition to removing very large trees. Antonio and his crew left without a trace that they were here. His guys (and daughter!) were meticulous in their efforts, hard-working, efficient, professional, and pleasant. Antonio is an honorable man who is extremely experienced, easy, and pleasant to do business with. To summarize, we cannot say enough good things about Atlas Tree Services.

Finding a reliable tree service can be stressful. Paying money upfront only for the crew to disappear, companies failing to show up on time, or contractors performing poor work and still demanding full payment. How many times have you been overcharged for additional work? Luckily, one of the three companies I called was Green Valley Tree Service. Marco, the owner, is a straight shooter. I received a fair price for great work; they arrived on time, cleaned up thoroughly, and there was no nonsense. If you need tree work--whether it's cutting, shaping, or bucket work--give them a call. Sure, call a few others for reference, but I guarantee Marco won't leaf you hanging. (Pun intended.)

In July I hired W&L Landscaping, Wilfredo and Lauren Mendez are the owners, to remove a tree and…read morestump. In the end, they did remove the tree, stump and debris as stated in the estimate. We said not to touch our neighbor's tree because it provided shade in our backyard. Because they rushed the job, they were careless. They cut some of the branches of my neighbor's tree making it look asymmetrical now. They are two different trees so you can't mistake one for the other. They broke a trellis, a water feature and cracked several slate slabs because they carelessly dropped chunks of the tree trunk instead of lowering them carefully. The workers were thoughtlessly stepping on plants, putting tools on top of plants. I had to mention the damage to Lauren the owner. Her business partner Wilfredo said nothing to me that damage was done as if it was acceptable to break things in the process. I was beginning to be sorry I hired them at this point because they still had to remove the stump. They were scheduled to come the next day. My wife was waiting in the 90-degree heat outside to save a parking space for their truck and equipment when they arrived. They didn't show. I received no call or text. I called and they cancelled because they were running late with another job. They came the next day to finish the stump and bring the replacement items that they damaged which was a clay pot which was part of the water feature and the slate that was damaged. I was at work and my wife in good faith paid them in full because they said they replaced the slate tiles. When I came home from work, I saw that they brought the wrong tiles and the wrong size and just took tiles from where the tree was removed and replaced the broken ones with them and still there were broken tiles. Nothing was replaced. I decided to let the trellis and water feature go because they weren't serious about fixing this and I wanted these people out of my life. I noticed a couple of days later on my neighbor's tree that there was a tree limb dangerously hanging by a thread and was about to fall. I brought it to W&L's attention being that they caused it. W&L said it was pre-existing damage which was baloney because the break in the tree limb was fresh looking. The limb fell a few days later. If you look on their website, there are two phone numbers, only one works, and it is Lauren's direct cell phone number. There is no official business number. I was going to let this whole thing go, but I don't want other people to go through this. I understand it was a very hot week, and it is very hard work, but it's the owners that are solely responsible for overseeing the work that is being done. Also, it shouldn't take a week and multiple calls to get a simple paid in full receipt. Totally unprofessional! Phil and Chris Buck
