I want to be as kind as I can to this company, because I don't know exactly all the facts around my experience. but they quoted me for between a 4000 to 8000 dollar job, when the solution was a 50 dollar part. I live in Bluffdale, and I was just looking to do normal yearly maintenance on my A/C unit, I called the company, they answered were friendly and sent a guy out immediately. Good deal, the charge is only 20 bucks for the maintenance. I mention to the guy that this particular A/C unit has been tripping the breaker about once a day. He says he'll look into it. A couple hours later he has taken apart my entire system, let's me know that the compressor must have gone bad and that I will need to replace it, as well as most other parts of my A/C unit, I ask "Well... how much would that cost" "Well the part is about 1500, and then it's a 6 hour job, so it'll run you about 4-6k dollars or so, I can have a guy come out and give you an exact quote, but honestly it's not that much more to get the entire system replaced... that's 8000.." I wait, look into warranty and amazingly, i still have a warranty for the part! Good news! in the mean time I get several other quotes, one shop quotes me half that 4k price, that makes sense, 4000-1500 is about 2000 dollars, the price difference is somewhat small. the price guy arrives, asks a lot of personal questions and then says he'll run my quote, I inform him the good news! I get the part for free! could they get close to the price quoted earlier? Nope, 4000 dollars. well since I have that piece still warrantied, can you show me a breakdown of the prices for labor, parts etc? nope. can you tell me what unit you would install if I went with the 8k version? "honestly they are all the same" Ok, but can I get a price break down? nope. they were vary dismayed when I said I would get some other quotes. He also informed me that this has happened all over this neighborhood So I call another company, guy looks at it, looks at my breaker and says "I think the builder just added the wrong size breaker, and this one is warn down, I can get an electrician friend of mine out here to fix it, but your unit looks perfect". thanks Copper peaks. No fee for the consultation electrician comes over,"that'll be 50 dollars for the part, 150 for the house call" it's been working perfectly fine ever since. I don't know if this is an experience problem, but I do worry that this company has been wrongfully quoting newish home owners full replacements when they are not necessary. I had a bad experience with this company, and cannot recommend them.

We were in the process of selling our home and the AC went out soon after accepting an offer on it. Being the middle of summer we were pressured by the realtor to replace the AC and the furnace (because of the age of it) before our closing date just 3 weeks away. I reach out to Technicool and they called me within hours, sent a technician on the same day to diagnose, and then set an appointment a week and a half later to replace our whole system. Their communication through the whole process was excellent and they even left all the warranty information for the new homeowners to pick up where we left off. They truly were lifesavers for us in a tight situation. To top it off I had gotten bids for a full system replacement about 4 months prior before we decided to sell our home and the pricing we received at that point was $1500 to $3000 over my final cost with Technicool. My opinion for the value and the service I received, 5 stars all the way. Thanks!

Tristan said he would install the new furnace that we purchased, which he did for $1500 in 3 hours,…read morebut left it inoperable and without a vent piece despite saying "if any extra material is needed, I can handle that". He said the add-a-wire was broken and we'd need to get a new one when actually, all he needed to do was set a refrigerant setting on the control board (which another installer knew to set to get it working well). He also stopped responding to our texts to have him bring the 2 parts and finish the job for two weeks as we were suffering with heat and no AC. He justified this ghosting by being out town. So we had to hire someone else. We wanted to be reimbursed $300 for having to hire someone else to diagnose and set this setting. He refused. To not take care of the settings to make the unit operable is deceptive when the agreement was that he would "install the furnace". From some research online, an "installation is generally understood to not just encompass the physical placement and connection of the unit but also the necessary configuration, adjustments, testing, and setup steps to ensure the system is fully operable and safe to use". It was also deceptive to say he would handle extra material and not replace a bit of venting. But I generously let the vent concern go. When I asked him to refund us for having to hire someone else to set this setting, he said, regarding dealing with settings: "I don't do that." I responded that if I'm paying someone $500 an hour, I expect professional know-how and a complete install. He called us ridiculous for essentially wanting an actual working furnace and not having to pay someone else extra to finish it. Despite me explaining that the setting was the issue, and that the next technician restored the power to the thermostat simply by setting that, he insisted the furnace wasn't working because we didn't upgrade the wire to the thermostat. Tristan said regarding the wiring, "this is the proper way to install WITHOUT changing any settings on the damn furnace" But research online says that the furnace will not operate properly without correctly setting this. In fact, it was an obvious issue that the blower was always on with no thermostat wire connected, which the second installer identified and said should not be happening given no signal from the thermostat telling it to turn on. Further indicative of his unprofessionalism, at one point he said, "Thanks for trying to take food out of my family's mouth for no reason." I responded, "thanks for trying to take food out of my families mouth by not being professional and costing us more money" (by having to hire someone else to finish the installation). He's probably feeding his family just fine with how much he's being paid per hour, but he very would could have trouble with that if he continues down the reputation-destroying path he's currently on. Tristan is likely prone to charge a good amount and do a half-ass job and then justify his incompetence. Beware.
