I hate having to leave bad reviews, but there are particular instances where service and quality are so incompetent that it should be brought to others attention to avoid hardship like mine at All American Embroidery. I brought in ten caps and ten patches to be sewn on each hat. I was told price, which was reasonable, and I asked about how long it should take. The employee informed me it would be a week or less. Fast forward three weeks and still no caps. I call and someone tells me they are not ready yet, but might be finished later in the day; nobody ever calls, this was on a Friday. I call Monday morning and the hats are still not ready. I swing by store on Monday afternoon and caps are finally completed. When I arrived home and inspected the caps, all ten patches, on all ten hats, are crooked. They were not overtly crooked, but I could notice. I was just going to ignore this fact because it took so long and it was not worth arguing about; however the one patch that was sentimental, in that it was the last patch in existence of my late grandfathers store, was so bad it could not be ignored. First, the patch was not even completely stitched onto the cap, the edge was hanging loose. One stitch ran down almost the middle of the rectangular patch, nowhere near the edge of the patch, like it should have been. So I decide to take all tens hats back to the store. Upon returning I show the employee, who stitched the hats, all the problems. He does not appear to really care about the unsatisfactory work. I express to him that I can live with most of the caps, but the one that was absolutely botched was unacceptable. ( in most cases, this is where a quality business would not allow a customer "to live" with unsatisfactory work and would fix without asking, but not here at All American Embroidery) He explains to me that the patches are difficult to put on caps and that they were really too large for the caps. Well, if this is true, why would they not tell me this in the beginning, but rather do a halfhearted, subpar job on the caps? They had to have know the caps looked terrible and rushed; were they just hoping I would not notice? I took it as he was implying it was my fault for their shoddy craftsmanship. A customer brings in a difficult task equals justification for half ass work. I said that it's very odd that a professional embroidery business can not stitch a patch on a cap, but I've had friends do the exact same patches on the exact same caps, with a basic sewing machine perfectly. This was a very lame excuse to cover up what I can only assume to be a rushed job, because they ignored my order for three weeks. The employee finally agreed to fix the one hat and would call me when completed. Three months pass now and I never receive a call, so I have to go back to the store yet again. Now they can't find the hat, once they did, it STILL wasn't finished. I waited another 10 minutes for it to be completed. A woman finally brings the fixed hat to the front. I asked if 3 months was normal wait time and she explained my contact info had been lost and she assumed I would eventually return to the store. She also blamed the issue on the year being 2020. Not once did any employee accept responsibility for their mistakes or even apologize for their incompetence. So in summation, avoid All American Embroidery. In the past I had recommended them to others, but not anymore. Such a disappointment. read more
