AP Driving School was very responsive at getting back to me and answering my questions. Their prices were overall very reasonable. I asked to see the ID of the instructor who would be alone in the car with my daughter. I was given a name, but told the office was closed and was refused a copy or a look at the ID. When I asked what happens if something bad happens, his answer was "let's hope nothing happens." He then told me 8 to 10 times to cancel the entire set of lessons if I didn't like it. I would not trust my child, especially a young woman, with a driver whose ID I cannot see, in a car with no cameras. I still don't know the driver's license status or whether they hold any restricted license, because nobody would tell me. A driving school should be able to answer that for any parent, and this one would not. Parents should ask these questions before enrolling.

From purchasing the sessions, to scheduling the sessions, and to scheduling the CA DMV test, it was such an easy process. Our daughter really felt at ease and comfortable with instructors Catherine Steveley and Dan Younger. They really understand how to instruct/connect with a new youth driver. Thank you! When Bob came to our house for my son's first lesson he was kind and knowledgeable, letting us know what to expect. My son had a great experience and at the end Bob spoke with us and gave us things to work on with him. All three lessons were amazing, he even gave us tips and tricks for the test and suggested which DMV to go to. Our son passed with flying colors and has a great driving record (he has been driving for 3 years). I am writing this a few years later because we moved away from Irvine and had to find another company for our daughter. Her experience was not as good and we did not feel that she was ready to be driving on her own even after that company signed off on it. I immediately called Varsity and they found her a time to work with Bob and we drove down to Irvine for it. In just two hours he taught her so much, he went through everything and corrected her previous instruction. She is a much more confident and safer driver because of him. She passed her test two days after the lesson. Thank you Varsity and Bob!

I have driving anxiety and even made myself a bit nauseous behind the wheel for the first few driving lessons. With all that said, I feel that Oscar could've been a bit more understanding and encouraging. While he did give great tips and advice, it felt it touched on more of what I was doing wrong, which mentally weighed me down and sort of added to the anxiety I already had. Oscar also rarely commented on the things I did right or occasionally felt a bit confident about. Again, I acknowledge my situation is a bit more special, but just wanted to share for those who might relate or be on the same boat.

Driving…read moreon the Cali freeway is in a separate class by itself especially if you hate speeding like me. Long story short- I recently got my DL so I'm not the most experienced driver in the world. I know most think driving is a breeze but I take it very seriously. After much deliberation I selected Safety First based on reviews. My first class was this past Saturday and after meeting Kurt I knew I made the best decision. Kurt was my driving instructor. He showed up 10 minutes before the scheduled class which I appreciated and he greeted me with utmost professionalism. I'm usually a nervous wreck while driving but this guy made me feel calm and confident and pretty soon I was actually driving safely on the freeway. He is a skilled instructor with lots of patience and he takes notes on items that need improvement. I felt very safe. This entire process from the registration with Sam (the manager) to the scheduling of classes was a seamless experience. Classes are booked in advance so you may need to spread your lessons over a few weeks which is fine. Practicing between classes is key to making driving techniques perfect. I have 2 more classes left but I'm confident that I will be a much more capable driver at the end. Thanks Safety First!
