(send me a PM and I'll tell you which pool company NOT to hire). But I digress. Don came out to look at the yard and quoted us within a few days. No, they were not the cheapest as I had five separate companies come out, but they are, by far, the most responsive and helpful of the five companies who quoted us. That said, they gave us a date to start the work, and each day they were at our home at 7:15 on the dot and left at 5:00 pm each night. They were respectful of our home and brought their own garbage bags to remove their trash each evening. We had a retaining wall built, which our pool company swore we did not need, and they did our deck as well as our pool and spa coping. They hand-cut the stone every day and then went around each evening to recheck and readjust to be sure it laid properly. They were perfectionists through and through. Don called daily to ensure our happiness with the job and his people. WHO DOES THAT?? Certainly not our pool company. Hell, we never knew who would show up from day to day! But again, I digress! I will finish as I started...HIRE THEM! You get what you pay for and then some!! Pictures below!

I received quotes from 5 companies and Travis' price was very competitive. But beyond the cost, his proposal reflected a comprehensive description of work that needed to done, based on the health of the trees. Only one other company provided similar comments on the health of the trees and the risk those trees would fall or damage my home. He completed the work and left my property looking much better than he found it. I really appreciated the care he took protecting lighting, sidewalks, and other features on my property. I've had two other companies do similar work in the past and they were not nearly as careful or professional as Travis and his crew. The cost was very reasonable and the value was exceptional. I will continue to use New Leaf Arboriculture for all my tree care needs.

I don't usually post reviews, unless I had a wonderful experience or unless it was a very negative…read moreexperience. I am sharing my experience with this company, not to discourage anyone from making their own decision, but to help other homeowners make the best choice for themselves. Professionalism and respectful behavior matter just as much as the work itself, and how a business treats people who don't become paying customers tells you a great deal about how it operates. The interaction went as follows: After I shared several photos of my project and answered several of the business owner/representative's questions, they asked for my address, phone number, and email address to send me an estimate. I provided my email address and asked that the estimate be sent through the platform that we were communicating on, or email. For privacy reasons, I do not give out my address and phone number until there is an obvious need for it. They then stated that they needed my address and phone number to provide an estimate and that they would be coming to look at the project in person the following day--which had not previously been mentioned. I have no issue with a business needing to visit my property to prepare an accurate estimate, but because I didn't like the demanding tone of the message and the lack of respectfully communicating that they would prefer an in-person quote, asking for a phone number, address, and good time, I politely responded, "That's okay. Thank you, though." I simply decided not to move forward with the interaction. This person subsequently went back to my post on social media, the town's community Facebook page, and commented on another business's offer to help me, stating that I didn't want to provide my address, that I had told them "nevermind," and that I was unprofessional. I was appalled! I have never seen a respectable business owner or small business representative conduct themselves so inappropriately. All of the other businesses that I reached out to were warm and respectful. Several politely offered to visit my property and provide an estimate. I provided my information to them and ultimately hired one, who had already received my information and earned my business before this business's public comment appeared. In conclusion, speaking negatively about a potential customer or a customer in a public setting, in my opinion, is unprofessional conduct and completely disrespectful. This only confirmed that I had made the right decision for myself. I maintain a list of companies I have previously considered hiring, and I will be adding this company to it with a note about this experience so that I remember not to do business with them in the future.
