Outstanding care for my pup

Hoover went into renal failure while we were out of town. My inlaws were not capable of getting him in the car so All About Pets came to my house and picked him up. Best vet ever!

The first vet we tried in Shiloh definitely didn't live up to these expectations so on a whim we decided to try Dr. Mears. We knew right away we'd found our new vet. The staff are always friendly and concerned. Dr. Mears takes time to discuss anything you need or have questions about. Staff will even call a couple times to check up on your pet after a procedure. They really are a great place for your pets...and for your wallet. Dr. Mears even recommended we try ordering a medication online since it might be cheaper that way. Who does that?! Five stars yayyyyy. Update 4/2020: One of our Frenchtons was lethargic, vomiting blood, not eating, etc. We took her to a local emergency clinic twice before Shiloh Veterinary Clinic was open again (this happened over a weekend) and she was not improving. They didn't find anything on xrays and couldn't figure out what was wrong with her. We got into see Dr. Mears as soon as possible and left her with him. He called us very shortly after we left and let us know that he found an intestinal blockage and that she needed surgery immediately. Days later she was almost fully back to her old self and just needed a bit of healing. Dr. Mears literally saved her life and we couldn't wait to get into see him since we knew he'd be our best chance at figuring out what she needed. He is a wonderful doctor, just from the way he treats our dogs as soon as he walks through the door sets him apart from other veterinarians.

If you love your pets do not take them to Animal Hospital of O'Fallon…read more Putting aside for a moment that the inside of the place is cold, hard, and shabby like an Eastern Bloc morgue, the vet techs cannot complete simple tasks like reading the location of a clinic printed on a past vet record. Apparently, differentiating between "Illinois" and "South Carolina" is not something they teach at vet tech school. But if they can't get basic literacy right, then what else are they screwing up? I wanted to understand what was going on because my cats can't speak for themselves and it's my duty to protect them. Then out of nowhere, the veterinarian, Dr. Schilling, accused me of "insulting" the vet tech. This is a lie, one that goes to the very heart of Dr. Schilling's character (or lack thereof). But even before that, speaking with Dr. Schilling was frustrating because she does not converse like a medical professional or even an adult. If concern for my pets makes me a bad man -- if concern for my pets makes me "insulting" -- then I'm guilty as charged. But I suspect everyone reading this review is guilty of the same. I rounded up my little guys and immediately got them out of that dark and sad little place, away from these insane and unprofessional people. As other reviewers have noted, it's important to keep in mind they'll take your money long before they see your pets. I understand why now.

Dr. Craig is always attentive and quite obviously cares about every animal he sees. He is also good about discussing options for care, keeping budgets and animal comfort in mind, and explains what's happening with a procedure very thoroughly. Even the unfortunate euthanasia of a pet is eased. One of my rats needed to be put down around Christmas time. About a week after I receive a condolence card signed by all of the staff. About two weeks after that I received a card saying that the clinic donated a tree in a national forest in honor of my rat. This vets office truly goes above and beyond of your pets and I can not recommend them enough.

I was given a different doctor than my normal and she was rude, making judgements and not hiding her irritation. I went in a for my puppy's yearly exam only to be told he'd need $2000 in surgery. When I told her I'd need to talk it over with my husband before scheduling she started to tell me about how he's too young to die and trying to scare me into the procedure. I didn't appreciate it. I wasn't turning down doing the surgery, I was wanting to do more research on what he's dealing with and when to schedule the surgery. I would never spend that money without talking it over with my husband. I called later asking to do an antibiotic since she told me it was an infection he had. I was then told it was not an infection but a disease and then other issues that were in his notes that she didn't tell me about. I don't trust them and feel like they were trying to make money off of me versus what is best for my puppy. That being said I am getting a second opinion and going from there. I will not give this office any more money or time and recommend others avoid it.

I have owned a few businesses back in my earlier years, and negative reviews are unavoidable. It's…read moreeasier for people to say bad things about you than good things. Sadly, that's human nature. Not MY nature, but the overall nature of the human condition. I have been going to Hoof & Paw in Belleville for a long time, and they are overwhelmingly busy. Their building is no bigger than a little shack. I have had some very, VERY bad experiences there. Then, my wife found Lashley. I know a good vet when I meet one and experience their service firsthand. These folks care about what they do, which is caring for my loved one, my friend, my companion. And if they care about HOW they care for my cats and dogs, then they care about the animal they are caring for as an individual being, an individual spirit, not just some warm body that guarantees some green in the cash register. And if they care about my pet, then they care about me. You see? It's called respect, and these folks have it in spades! The negative reviews are all about impatience, and high costs, long service times, and other nonsensical crap like that. This absurdity sounds like their own maladjustment issues and refracted problems; most definitely NOT ungovernable behavior brought about by Lashley. These so-called patrons are just projecting their own hangups on a business, a good, caring business, mind you, to make themselves feel better about their own miserable lives! Listen, you negative people: #1. If you don't have patience, then schedule your pet on a day when you have free time for your pet. After all, it's your pet, and your responsibility. #2. Cost? Lashley is just as competitive in cost as any other veterinarian, and much, MUCH less expensive than that ripoff animal hospital in Collinsville. If you don't have the money, then you shouldn't have the pet!!! It's that simple. #3. How long you have to wait for them to spay or neuter or do dental work ... whatever they have to do, YOU are who is to be held accountable for your caring of your pet. You started by doing the right thing and getting your pet to a vet who actually gives a hoot about them. Worrying about your schedule, and other asinine complications when you should be concerned about your pet, no matter the cost, the wait, or the time involved, leaves a lot to be desired concerning your overall moral countenance. You clowns are showing your true colors! *Cue the circus music* I'm quite surprised I have never seen you there in your big red & yellow clown shoes, your bright red nose, the pasty-white makeup, the mime-like, white-gloved hands, the multi-colored, spotted, one-piece outfit, and all your balloons that you manipulate & twist into makeshift objects & animals. For the lady who waited 45 minutes in a "hot car" for them to take your puppy in for 10 minutes, here's an idea: Buy a darn car with an air-conditioner, or better yet, go inside and wait in the waiting room, idiot! In all seriousness and forthrightness, I will never go to Hoof & Paw again. Lashley is now my permanent go-to for all my animals' care! And don't listen to the nay-sayers; they need some serious counseling and therapy.

I would like to state emphatically do NOT be fooled by the fakery and foolery. I initially thought this is where I would make my vet home after establishing care 29 July 2026, but I submitted to them a sworn, notarized testimony today and notice to sever consumer/veterinary relationship after incident after incident after incident. Should they fail to respond, I will be submitting a grievance & requesting a formal investigation to the IL Board of Veterinary Medicine, and the IL Attorney General's Office. I endured maltreatment, verbal abuse, staff/vet ignoring critical correspondence and phone calls, extortion, etc. The final straw was yesterday's (10/14/26) blatant extortion attempt by Dr. Kelvin Urday and his staff. These people have been rude, unkind, shady unethical and illegal in their business practices, and I could no longer endure it. In spite of how poorly I was treated, I never deviated from being poised, polite, professional, patient, and peaceful. I am leaving this practice as a traumatized consumer. Truly. It is also critical to note they lack cultural diversity, cultural awareness, and cultural competence in their employed staff. They may chime in and attempt to lie, but I kept all evidence without their awareness. Feel free to connect with me if you want to review that evidence & substantiate what I have reported here. Please consider other options for honest, professional, respectful and consistent veterinary services. Be well.
