Alison of Red Shoes Photography is fantastic! We hired her for materniy, newborn, and 6 month photos for our first baby girl. I could not be more pleased with how they turned out! We will always cherish these photos. She was very open to my ideas for each session and also had some of her own creative ideas. Alison is professional, personable, flexible, reliable, and easy to work with. We got a web link to the photos within 1-2 days and a CD in the mail with all the shots. I would recommend Alison to anyone looking for newborn or family photography! read more

First, Alison photographed our wedding. Check out the profile pic. Pretty rad! I have since hired Alison to help with several projects for my business. She has effortlessly (at least from my point of view) knocked it out of the park. I love her simple approach and use of light. Will I use her again? With out a doubt! Alison is amazing! read more

I love Alison! She's wonderful and so are her photos. I found her online through her blog, so I was a bit nervous at first to dive into a head shot shoot with just me and her, since we had never met prior. But she made me feel very comfortable right off the bat and I had so much fun! We walked around the Botanical Gardens, talked, laughed... oh and took amazing photos! I have even hired her again since then to shoot head shots for my whole office! She set up a studio on site, was timely, and very professional. I would definitely recommend Alison if you are looking for a great photographer with a wonderful personality :) read more

I found Alison via Yelp for my wedding photography. My mother was incredibly hesitant about using someone who was not referred to us, but I assured her that after looking at the Red Shoes Photography website, she looked great! After meeting with Alison, and seeing her work in print, we were all blown away by her talent. Alison proved to be a great photographer through the engagement session and then at the wedding. She is very calm, cool and collected and can make you feel at ease. Not only were the pictures outstanding, but I got them back so quickly! Many of my other friends who have gotten married have had to wait multiple MONTHS to get their pictures back...Alison was incredibly timely. Overall, our experience with Red Shoes Photography has truly been above and beyond! read more

We just had newborn/family photos with Alison, and I absolutely love the photos she took. They are classic and beautiful without being the slightest bit cheesy. I am usually not very photogenic and feel really uncomfortable in front of a camera, but you would never know it from the photos she took. I am so happy to have natural, sweet photos of myself and my husband with our new baby. She got a complete, well-rounded shoot (baby alone, baby with each parent, all family, baby feet, etc.) in about an hour, including a couple quick breaks to feed and calm the baby. She was very reasonably priced compared to some others I looked at with similar quality and style photos. And unlike most others, her normal price includes the digital files of the photos. She got the link to the photos to us the very next day too, way faster than I was expecting. We will definitely use Alison again next time we want professional photos. read more

We hired Alison to take our wedding photos and couldn't be happier with the resulting photos. She makes sure to find out what you want from her and we knew we didn't have to worry about the photos on the big day, which is sooo nice! The photos by both her and her associate had great focus and framing and we've very much enjoyed looking back on them when recalling our most special of days. We don't have a great deal of extra income and splurged on the photography. For the service and quality of the photos the money was very well spent! Her prints are high quality and beautiful as well, though they are well outside of my price range. I believe all Red Shoes Photography packages include digital delivery of all photos taken for your event, so that isn't really a problem. Highly recommended photographer! read more

Alison has taken our maternity photos, newborn pictures and just finished our mini-holiday/six month old session. Each session has been EXACTLY what we were looking for; an organic depiction of our sweet little family. Alison has such a knack for capturing moments and turning them into art work. Her talent with photographing babies is especially evident! Each of the photos has showcased our little girl's personality. Not only is Alison a fantastic photographer, she is personable and works hard to deliver a quality product in a timely manner (And she is successful at that!) I would highly recommend her to anyone! read more

I used Red Shoes Photography for my wedding. I give her 5 stars for a few reasons: - Alison has a great eye and you get a very high quality product from her. - Alison listens to what you want and delivers what you asked for. We wanted fun, more casual photos that captured the day and very few formal photos. We ended up with exactly what we wanted and love our pictures. - Not "owning" your wedding photos and ordering 1 by 1 is a pain, expensive and the biggest complaint I've heard from brides.... I got 2 CD's with all of my photos so that we can use them as we want. That is HUGE and rare. - On a personal level, Alison was fun, easy to work with, organized and pushes you just enough to make sure you actually get what you want. I balked at taking engagement photos and she convinced me quickly by saying that they were part of the package and that we really should do a practice round before the wedding itself. She was right - we needed to get comfortable with having our photo taken and you don't want to do that on the big day! We loved our engagement photos and hadn't thought it was possible to have engagement photos that weren't cheesy. We were wrong. At the wedding she was also organized and prepared to herd my family for photos so that we could get through them quickly. read more

Alison did an excellent job with my little project, what a great person to work with! Will definitely use her in the future!

Alison is fantastic, she was the perfect person to take our family photos! From the beginning, Alison was professional and accommodating. She was very flexible and understanding when trying to plan around my 1-year-old's inconsistent nap schedule. In the planning process, I explained to Alison that I'd like the photos taken in our backyard because it's our home and I wanted to convey that feeling. She was completely on-board with this plan. However, I was a bit concerned since our backyard is a bit small and not what I would consider a photographer's ideal location. Alison came up with some really amazing, creative ideas around our home. She truly has an artistic eye for what works in photos. In addition, she did a great job helping my shy 8-year-old and un-photogenic husband feel at ease. We are thrilled with the outcome of the pictures, we will be contacting Alison again for any future photography needs. read more

I hired Alison, the owner of Red Shoes Photography, to shoot my rehearsal dinner, after learning of her through my wedding planner. The quality and style of her photographs exceeded my already-high expectations! Looking at the photos takes us back to the night of the dinner and makes us feel like we are re-living that fantastic evening. What really stands out to me is how vivid the colors are in the photos. Alison was a joy to work with and I would recommend her to anyone! read more

"I've always had photophobia..especially when it comes to being individually photographed. There's only so many double chins and squinty eyed photos a girl can endure before she feels unphotogenic. I am so thankful to Alison for bringing out the best in me and making me feel so at ease and even beautiful! I never knew it was possible to actually NOT CRINGE when looking at a photo of myself. True talent, A! Thank you for the classy, timeless head shots!!" read more

When my husband and I began wedding planning, he was against hiring a professional photographer since he had a family friend who dabbled in photography. I, on the other hand, believed that photography was one area of the wedding that we should spend money on. Enter the best day of wedding planning - the Rocky Mountain Bridal Show. This was the only bridal show we went to and it was the best $10 I spent all of wedding planning because my husband saw the range in photography styles and instantly fell in love with Red Shoes Photography. When we got home we checked out her website and watched the music video she made in Iceland, which was fantastic. My wedding dreams came true because we hired her! Alison was so easy to work with and really listened to what we wanted. We did an engagement session with her, which I highly recommend because having your photo taken over and over is a little weird. We also didn't have a wedding planner, so she took the lead and made sure we had every detail worked out. Having been to countless weddings herself, she has great insight into flow of the event, which was super helpful. Couple that with her awesome photography skills and you have a photographer everyone should be so lucky to have! When we got our photos from our wedding, we couldn't have been more excited. They were exactly the fun, candid shots we wanted instead of formal, prom-pose photos. Before the wedding we wanted to take photos at Sanchos, a dirty hippie bar, because that's where we went on our first date. Despite being super dark in the bar, the photos are easily some of my favorite! read more

My husband and I are so happy we found Alison through a friend whose wedding she shot. Alison did our son's newborn photos and they turned out so well we also did 6 month photos. She is completely comfortable around babies and has an expert eye for beauty in the simple moments. Alison returned our photos very quickly with a link that is easy to share with family members. We can also download the photos and print them at our discretion. We are so excited to continue to work with Alison as our son grows and can't wait to see what she has in store. You will not regret taking photos with her - absolutely worth every penny! read more

Alison is a FANTASTIC photographer! I found her via Yelp Reviews and she was so good I want to leave a great Yelp Review for other viewers. Alison is personable, nice, creative, relaxed, cooperative, and flexible. I used Alison for head shots for on-line dating website and (although shy to admit) I have had some great responses to the photos she took. Much better than iPhone shots! If you are thinking about on-line dating professional shots, use Alison because the shots don't look over-board or 'planned,' the shots look relaxed and natural. I like how Alison sent me a web link to the photos as well as sent a CD as a back-up. I recommend Alison with Red Shoes Photography! read more

Alison is as easy going as you can get when it comes to wedding photographers! She is calm and collected when things get hectic on wedding day and her photos are artistic and honest. Such a pleasure to work with! read more

I am a bit biased about Red Shoes Photography because I've been friends with Alison for 15 years. That said, my husband has just gotten to know her over the last year, and is VERY camera shy. When I told him I wanted Alison to shoot our wedding, he was happy to do what I wanted to do, but having a camera at our wedding was the only thing he was nervous about for the big day! Well, Alison is so talented, professional, fun, and easy-going that she not only put him at ease, but she was able to capture the essence of our small, intimate wedding in exactly the way we imagined. Even though she is a Denver wedding photographer, she was gracious enough to make the trip to San Francisco for our City Hall wedding. Our photos are so, so beautiful; her styling and eye are amazing. She was able to capture the sweet moments between us and our family, as well as the bold architectural details of SF City Hall. We are so happy with how our photos turned out! I cannot recommend or thank Alison enough for being there on our special day! read more

We LOVED Alison's photos of our wedding--they totally captured the essence of the day, and the entire time we kept saying to ourselves "Alison was the one for this job!" We were on cloud nine during the wedding so it is incredibly powerful that we have been able to experience the night from a spectator's point of view through her photography even though our wedding is over. Her attention to detail, professionalism, talent, and assertiveness was top notch--it was obvious Alison knew what she was doing and her execution was perfect. In addition, Alison is "in tune" with what many of today's couples are looking for in terms of a fresh and current style that does not come off as awkwardly staged or phony. Lastly, she really walked us through the process from beginning to end--by providing general questionnaires, meeting face-to-face, accommodating an engagement photo session, requesting a must-have photos list, and being totally reliable and professional at the wedding itself (and producing amazing photos that totally capture everything!). Alison completely rocked it and we are just SO happy to have had her as our wedding photographer. If you are looking for someone who is extremely talented, professional, cool, easy going, relevant, passionate, communicative, and reasonably priced, Alison is definitely the photographer for you! read more

Alison was a pleasure to work with - she was professional, reliable, and incredibly timely with the turn around of her beautiful work! The first experience working with Alison was so smooth and effortless my husband and I booked a second session for product shots for our business. Alison listened to what we were looking for and executed perfectly! You can tell she truly enjoys the work that she does and she takes everything into account during her photo shoots - the lighting, background and even gave us great tips on body placement! I would highly recommend Alison and I will be contacting Red Shoes Photography for any future photography needs! read more

If your looking for a great and reasonably priced photographer, check out Allison at Red Shoes Photography. She did newborn and 6 month pictures of our daughter and the pictures are amazing! She's really flexible as well and dealt with our "pinterest" ideas and requests and they turned out better than I could have imagined! She also had some great ideas of her own. We got a CD with all the images and a web link which is exactly what we wanted-so we can decide what to do with the pictures on our own! This is definitely a perk as a lot of photographers make you pay extra for the digital files. read more

Alison is amazing! My partner and I hired her for our October wedding and the entire experience was wonderful, from the initial planning to the actual ceremony. Alison is easy to work with and had many great ideas to incorporate into our portfolio. As a previous reviewer mentioned, every single photo was gorgeous (and I'm not very photogenic!) In fact we were so pleased we're now planning a second session with her. I would very highly recommend Alison to anyone looking to capture their special moments - you won't be disappointed! read more

Alison with Red Shoes Photography was amazing on our wedding day! She was extremely organized prior to our wedding, and had full interest in discovering what we wanted out of our photos. Between the formal pics of the wedding party/wedding details along with our request for photos of wedding guests, we couldn't believe the amount of amazing shots we got back from the 8-hour time period she was there for! She has an amazing group of second photographers in her back pocket as well, which I definitely recommend because it was perfect for time management with guys and girls photos. Everything that could go wrong on our wedding day actually DID go wrong... thank goodness we hired Red Shoes because not only did Alison make the process easy and take priceless pictures of things we missed out on, but she also had a laid-back attitude that made us feel MUCH better about the drama. Thank you Alison for everything! Your eye for photography is truly something talented. We will be hiring you again for all-things special =). read more
