Aliʻi Place Parking Garage was honestly more frustrating than expected and not a smooth experience at all. Be careful if you plan to park here because they only accept cash, and there were no signs anywhere indicating that beforehand. We parked here because we were visiting ʻIolani Palace and assumed it would be convenient, but that quickly turned into the opposite. I pulled in expecting it to be like any other garage that takes cards or mobile payments, only to find out after parking that cash was the only option. What made it worse was having to leave the garage, go find an ATM somewhere else, and then come back just to pay. During that entire time, my parking was still being charged, which felt completely unreasonable since I had no choice but to leave to get cash. It turned what should have been a simple visit into a drawn-out process and added unnecessary stress. Something like this could easily be avoided with proper signage or updated payment systems. It's 2026, and most people don't carry cash anymore since everything is card or mobile pay like Apple Pay. Between no warning about cash-only payments and being forced to waste time just to complete a basic transaction, the experience was frustrating from start to finish. Unless you already have cash on hand, this garage isn't worth the hassle. There are definitely better, more user-friendly parking options nearby. read more

Parking in Downtown, Honolulu, Hawaii... I strongly dislike paying for parking, but when there are no options, park at Ali'i Place. Why? The rates are relatively reasonable. It's clean, safe, and has good lighting. It's modern, elegant, and well-maintained. The patrons look like office workers and business people. In comparison, Chinatown has municipal lots with sometimes sketchy people lurking around. The strange odors in the dark spaces are unnerving. It feels like those structures need a good cleaning. Best place to park when dining at Honolulu Seafood Restaurant from 8am to 5pm. The restaurant validates &1.00 for parking. 0.75¢ for the first half hour, then $1.50 every hour after the first half. Turn right into the garage after passing Honolulu Seafood Restaurant and Beyond Pastry. 6'1" clearance for those who drive tall vehicles. Ali'i Place is also a refundable parking structure when serving at the Honolulu Circuit Court. Unfortunately you need to pay and submit your receipt to be reimbursed. If you need to park in downtown Honolulu, this is the best place to park! The parking is very affordable only $.75 per half hour for the first two hours. It's very clean and feels super safe. The only complaint I have is as with all downtown parking garages the spaces are pretty narrow. All in all, I will definitely be back to park here if I need to come downtown. read more

Very convenient parking garage if you have business or planning to eat nearby. Easy turn in on the right after Honolulu Seafoood restaurant former Yong Sing and Mandalay.' First time here so we walked to the right after exiting the elevators and had to take a left around the perimeter to hit Alakea again. Instead exit to the left of the elevators into the beautiful lobby of Alii Place. Fancy elevators select the floor and it takes you there without having to enter it again once in the elevator. You pay as you exit instead of those pay before you exit kiosks. When we had finished our lunch and returned I could smell Chinese incense. There are beautiful murals on both walls then you approach the kahilis and King's portrait. Very cool. read more

Why didn't I know about this place!?! Having a parking ticket and constantly checking for it not to be in the system to pay which made me completely forgetting about it is the worst thing ever...why because you then need to go downtown to pay for it in an area that basically has no parking whatsoever for blocks and blocks away. With that I chose an area that was insanely high and standing in line to pay for my ticket it's unavoidable to hear a guy talking to a woman basically talking the whole time was SO annoying though what I did get from that whole conversation of the best deal outside of the municipal lots being right across the street...Alii Place. Parking entrance is right on Alakea Street and is $0.75 for each 1/2 hour for two hours and after that is $1.50 after the first two hours which puts me at ease to take care of my errands and actually did do it at my leisure including some extra stops since I was already in the area is amazing and still did it under two hours woohoo! The elevator is quite cool with the touch pad you just select the floor you're going to and it will tell you which elevator will take you to your destination is super cool...but not as cool as the price considering the location is something I will keep in mind for the future. One of the cheapest parking structures you can find in Downtown Honolulu. Highly recommend this spot of you plan to get some business done, shop at Daiso, or you're there for jury duty. There will be a sign before the entrance if the lot is full before you start driving up the ramp. It's 6'2" height clearance. I used to park here a lot when I was an intern. Now I'll pop in whenever I come to the office. You pay by cash when leaving. Hawaii State FCU and an atm is at the bottom floor. The building is gorgeous. Elevators are clean. I recall there were ups drop boxes inside the structure next to the elevators if you ever need to drop off a package. read more

Great parking rates in downtown. Entrance on Alakea street. I believe it's $.75 per 1/2 hour, and $1.50 per 1/2 hour after the first two hours. These rates are amazing considering it's in a safe garage in a great location in downtown. Conveniently located right across from the Hawaii State Art Museum and near Iolani Palace. I also love the fancy elevators LOL you just choose which floor you're going to on the touch pad outside of the elevator, and it directs you to the proper one! Beware, it's Cash only!! read more

The parking at Alii Place follows the Municipal parking rates for the City & County of Honolulu which are $0.75 per 1/2 hour for the first two hours and $1.50 per 1/2 hour thereafter. I always park here when meeting friends for lunch downtown because it is right next to Mandalay Chinese Restaurant and close to other restaurants too. The parking structure is always clean and the lobby has great decorations, especially at Christmas. See my picture. read more

Good parking options are in short supply in downtown Honolulu, particularly on weekdays. Ali'i Place is my go-to spot when conducting business in the area because it is the only garage that charges the less expensive municipal rates in the downtown/central business district. I like parking here when visiting Hawaii State Art Museum (HiSAM). The regular rate is $0.75 for 30 minutes for the first two hours, then $1.50 for every 30 minutes after that. Evenings, holidays, and weekends are a $3.00 flat rate, making Ali'i Place a good choice for First Fridays. I've never had a problem finding parking space here, and there are spaces for free parking of motorcycles and mopeds. One negative is the very narrow garage layout for vehicles driving through and the narrow parking spaces. It can be downright dangerous for pedestrians walking to/from their vehicles as there are many blind corners with little "shoulder" room--exercise extreme caution as many drivers negotiate the tight turns at speeds that would make a Grand Prix driver nervous. Also be aware that as with any public parking, the possibility of theft certainly exists. Take care to keep valuables out of sight. Ali'i Place is located on Alakea St., a one-way street in the mauka direction, between King and Hotel Sts. It is on the Koko Head (right hand) side of the street. Public parking is cheap at only.75 cents per half hour (for the first two hours!) The location is very convenient with Hawaii State Federal Credit Union located in the lobby, the district court across the street and a Starbucks a few doors down! There's even a tiny shop to the right when you exit the parking elevators if you want to grab a snack, it's tiny so don't miss it! Alii Place has a waterfall outside it's Hotel St. doors and is also LEED certified. Be sure to come by during Christmas when they decorate the lobby! read more

Alii place is a handy parking option for downtown. The hourly rates are pretty reasonable ($1.50 an hour first 2 hours, then $3 an hour). There are also a limited number of motorcycle / moped stalls that are free parking for our friends on two-wheels. This can also be a good parking option for First Friday or some of the annual Chinatown area block parties, as they have a night time flat rate, and you can still exit the garage after the attendant has gone. The only negative is that this is one of the listed places for public parking for the courthouse across the street, so some of your fellow patrons might occasionally be a bit, shall we say, "shady" ..... I had my motorcycle helmet stolen there back when I locked it on the bike before, so please use caution! read more

Parking price is $3 after 5PM on Monday to Friday, all day Holidays and weekends! Dirt cheapest I've seen anywhere in Downtown. Besides that, regular rate is $.75 for every half hour up to two hours and $1.50 for every after hour after the first two hours. Not cheap, but cheapest price in Downtown. What I don't understand is how to get out of the building if you do not want to use the elevator and walk out from Hotel Street and how to get into the building without having to walk from Hotel Street! This place offers the cheapest downtown (not Chinatown) parking. It's located on Alakea right next to Mandalay Chinese. I live downtown now so don't have to pay for parking much anymore, but to my recollection, it's $ .75 an hour or something ridiculously cheap like that. Ali'i place is one of the cheapest places to park downtown if you (1) are staying for longer than a couple hours and (2) don't have a way to get your parking validated. Yes, the first 2 hours for $3.00 is a good deal. But let me tell you a story that happened to me just today. I used the Alii Place to park today and the ticket was marked at 2:30 PM. I got into my car with 5 minutes left to spare. In front of me were around 5-6 cars trying to hand in their tickets/pay. By the time I handed my ticket with the $3.00, it was 4:31 PM. The unhappy Asian male worker with an attitude problem snapped at me and told me that I had to pay the extra $1.50 for going 1 minute over. I told him the situation (waiting for 5-6 cars in front of me with only him working), but he told me that I should have factored the time in and was extremely rude. He then told me that if I didn't have the money, I would have to turn my car around so that I can go get it. So...I guess I have to park the car....walk out of the building.....find an ATM....withdraw money... walk back to the building....get in my car.....and wait in line behind some more cars hoping that I don't cross over into the next 30 minute interval which is another $1.50. I have parked in other places in downtown Honolulu (Executive Center) where attendants let people go for being a few minutes late. So after this guy refused to budge, I just started looking for money in my car. I was able to find $1 and I handed it to him. He then told me he would let me go for $4. Okay, so this is where I also get upset. If you can decide that $4.00 is good enough, why can't you decide $3.00 is good enough for only going 1 minute over with all things considered?! And you know what else doesn't make sense? While I was talking with the attendant/looking for more money, there was a huge line of cars waiting behind me. Rather than just letting me go, we spent around 5 minutes talking and making the people behind me think what a huge asshole I was and I bet some of them had to pay $1.50 for being 1-5 minutes over. read more

I never would review about a parking structure but this one amazed me with its tight turns but clearly well kept and maintained tidy look. This Alii place is connected to the building that houses Nordic PCL. Their elevators are electronically ran as the building and after the 4th floor it request access if you are a employee of the building suites with another gate keepee which I first found confusing. Very interesting way to handle the division of public parking to employees. The cost to park is not too bad either as after 5pm is $3 including weekends. While half an hour I may read wrong is like .75 cents. I would have to check this again but not bad to park in downtown Honolulu read more

Currently this is the best parking deal I have found. Be sure to arrive at 5 o'clock pm. to take advantage of the 3$ flat rate fee, any sooner and you will be subject to additional fees of .75 for the first 2 half hours. Which is still a bargain. The structure is well lit and maintained a major plus for those of us attending school in the evenings. read more
