Spacious and filled with many resources for community members, students, and library card holders. I've been to this location many times. During my most recent visit I stopped in to pick up my Summer Reading Color Our World prizes! I stopped by two information desks and eventually they informed me that I needed to go upstairs. Once I made it to that desk, the ladies were helpful. I'll be sure to take a picture of my rewards for the Grown Ups Reading Challenge. I received water bottles, sticky notes/flags/pens, drawstring bag, and pen pouches. Defintely worth stopping by and joining the reading challenge! If I'm in the area this is a library I'd return to.

There's plenty of seating inside. Computers were also available to use for up to four consecutive hours once I obtained a library card and number to sign in. If you need to charge your phones or electronic devices, there are plenty of outlets available. There's first come first serve study rooms for those that do require more concentration. For a person who loves reading books for learning and for pleasure, this place was great. I haven't combed through a physical book in a long time, since we have pdfs and Kindle apps on our iPhones. But, this library was refreshing. They even have manga books translated to English. Here, you can borrow any book from and return it to any fort bend county library in 21 days. That's awesome. In addition, they have study rooms here and computers for kids to play games on. On their website, FBC libraries also have book clubs you can attend or reserve new books that are released to borrow. Not sure how long it takes for anyone to actually get a new book, though. Plus, it's relatively quiet here, so I feel extremely productive when I'm here to do any sort of work. My regret is that I didn't find this spot sooner. They're even open on Saturdays if you need to work on some things. Logistics-wise, this library is actually located within the UH-SL campus. When you enter, the library is on your left side. Just follow the signs for library parking. Since I went during post-Hurricane Beryl, the gate lever was open to the parking lot. However, during normal business hours, you need to take a ticket before entering the lot and validate your parking ticket with the library staff before you leave the library parking lot. Overall, I will be coming back here again when I need some quiet time or work done.

It's especially great for those with small kids, they have a dedicated area on the first floor for small children to have fun, including a computer area as well as well as a play area with children's toys. I often see many families take their kids here on the weekend to read and play. They also have planned activities throughout the week such as story time for kids of all ages. We applied for a library card here and the process was seamless as well. Overall a great library, highly recommend for everyone in the community!

There is a large selection of books, so it's a great place to browse. They just had an outdoor story time yesterday for babies and young kids, and it was really well executed. The youth librarians involved were well prepared and engaging, so it was a fun time for both kids and adults. Parking is plentiful and free (unlike at the University Branch Library, where parking has to be validated if it's over 1 hour and you risk getting a ticket if you park in the wrong place).

It's now 10:15, my lawyer has dealt with the prosecutor & we're "waiting on the judge, SHORTLY" over an hour ago. Normally I wouldn't trip but the fact that I have a VA appointment at 11am that I'm probably going to miss is ridiculous...

It's a small town city hall, with ample parking and a lot of different services all in one place…read more Unlike Houston, where there are multiple courthouses and permit centers, everything is located in one large building with various wings here. Thankfully, I haven't had much reason to go visit here, but on the trips I have made, the police department is next door, there's a nice city council meeting chamber near the main entrance, and the hallways are well decorated. Everything is clean and well maintained.

Once you come inside if you already know where to go, you do not need to check in at the front desk. There is a library here with lots of Chinese books. There usually some sort of activity here. For all intents and purposes, this is the Taiwanese consulate. There's no cultural or arts center…read moreat its new location. The new location is set up just like the Taiwanese consulate in San Francisco. There is paid covered parking in the garage, but they do not validate. There's a security guard in the lobby where one person in the party has to show ID, and the security guard gives you a badge to access the elevators to the 21st floor. Pictures and cameras are allowed inside the consulate as it's legally not a government building recognized by the States. There is an ATM on the premises that the security guard can guide you to. I paid $57 in cash to renew my Taiwanese passport as I am American born with dual citizenship. My Taiwanese passport had been expired since the beginning of Covid, but it was just as easy to renew as a non expired passport. They gave me a form in Mandarin to fill out but I told them I couldn't read or understand Mandarin as I am American born. Two of the workers were fluent in Taiwanese and able to help me fill out the form. It takes six weeks for them to process and snail mail your passport.

Updated June 5, 2026…read more Came in Tuesday 3:00pm and was seated last in a long line of chairs. Apparently a very busy afternoon but I barely made it in to reception by 4pm. Receptionist reviewed my forms then said copy of passport was needed! Lesson learned: have extra copy of passport or documents just in case. Returned on a Friday 2:30pm. Surprisingly no line, receptionist promptly waved me to come in. Reviewed my forms then offered to process visa exemption while I wait outside. I took the offer, went back outside to waiting room. 20 minutes later, heard my name called to go back in and take the passport with the 5 year exemption sticker. Lesson learned: come in early right after 2pm and perhaps go on a Friday for potential short line.

I had to go to the Consulate three times to get my visa exemption renewed. Prepare to wait because…read morethey only take one person at a time. The security guard could be nicer, but he's doing his job. The first time I arrived on a Thursday at 11 am, and the waiting room was full. The security guard told me it was closed. Okay then... I come back later that afternoon at 2 pm, and it was only me and another person. I brought the 'Application Form for Issuance/ Reissuance of a Visa Exemption Certificate' completed by hand. Turns out, you need to fill it out online and print it out. A barcode should appear at the top right corner when it is processed. Please do NOT fill it out by hand! Use the link on #3 to access the document (photo attached). You will also need to bring a photocopy of your passport, expired visa exemption, and expired passport if the old visa is associated with it. It should only cost $10 if you can wait 10 days to pick it up. To add insult to injury, it costs to park in the garage for over 20 minutes. I come back the next day, Friday at 2 pm. Lots more people this time. No phones allowed so you have to sit and stare at the wall. It takes me about 1 hour to get to the desk. Smooth and quick process since I had everything required.

Her experience at the Spanish Consulate was one of the worker being truly welcoming, and interested in why she was going to Spain (student Visa) and even gave hints at what to do, experience and tips on culture to make her visit more enjoyable. Pretty high bar set. At this consulate, think more the Soup Nazi in Seinfeld. get in line, look straight ahead and don't bring attention to yourself. They got the job done (up check). Were they pleasant, ehhhhh truthfully no, any tips on enjoying Angolan Culture, no way, did one of the attendants even say a word to me......no (used some form of sign (language). If you have your paperwork squared away (it is complicated and you will need a Visa service), don't make an ass of yourself, are respectful, and your check doesn't bounce, you can be in and out of there fairly quick (longest time for me was two hours, shortest time was ten minutes). There was an older lady who works there, who is very tough, but after being helped by her about ten times, I did finally get a thank you out of her (and I believe a smile). :) Waiting room is fine, and quite nice if you like European soccer. They do have a water container there (nice if a hot day in Houston), but for the love of everything that is right and holy, don't use your phone in the waiting line (or the room for that matter) or try to argue. Just like the soup Nazi bumped Elaine out of line, they will tell you "NO SOUP (Visa) FOR YOU, COME BACK THREE MONTHS!!!!!

I hope I correctly figured it out. There are things I don't like. When I drive through a certain intersection, there is an occasional sign lit up, that basically says square your debts for traffic tickets, etc. because a Round Up is about to happen. I never see this in other locations around Houston, Hawaii, or New York. However, like in other states, "speed trap" seasonality doesn't happen in wealthy neighborhoods. This xmas season I happen to be panic shopping at a Target blocks from their precinct (?), and these police made me cry. So lovingly, or kindly, or both, these police were escorting kids to get Christmas gifts for themselves and their siblings! (I'm tearing up again right now.) I think 1-2 were assigned a child or two. The demeanor of the officers were so caring and gentle, that the first two officers I saw with kids --I ignorantly assumed they were lesbian moms on a break to Christmas shop with their children. (I probably need to work on my gender stereotype issues.) When yoga teaching, I have to notice carriage, tone, demeanor. It helps me hone what alignments need to take place physically, mentally, and/or emotionally. This radar is not always on. When I realized all these police were escorting children of all ages to Christmas shop, I turned my yoga teacher self on to fully notice. These police helped the kids think about what for who, gave them space to think (no hint of rushing them), no intimidating, control-the-territory. Nothing to call attention to police-have-arrived. No spectacle. It was very much all about the kids. Whoever coached or prepped these police, or framed this assignment to them, or selected them for this foray --did an AMAZING job. I would have thought these kids were their own. There was only one policeman I noticed who had a tired attitude. Luckily two older children were assigned to him (that I noticed), rather than any younger children. Hopefully, the parental figure of those kids prepped them (enough). Other than that, what I witnessed was human magic. I hope they keep doing things like this; Human magic. Thank You for being so good to those kids.
