I don't recommend this company and I'll share my personal experience. I found this place online and figured due to the good reviews I would give it a try with my new PPO Insurance. I scheduled the evaluation/initial appointment for x-rays and requested a deep cleaning, a filling replacement, and repair of a chip tooth. I do give one star for the appointment time accommodations. When I walked in the first thing I noticed were a bunch of dead plants in the waiting area at the front desk. The young lady behind the desk was polite and professional. Once I got into a room for X-Rays, I met with the hygienist. I can't remember her name. She was gentle with the X-Rays but it took a really long time to get the X-Rays done. She mentioned she only had one year experience. The longer I was there, the more unprofessional her communication was. I have had gum disease for many years. She proceeded to tell me I could have gotten it from kissing someone. She also stated that I need to make better life choices. This is all while my mouth is open for a polish cleaning. I found her conduct and assumptions extremely unprofessional. As a woman in my mid 40's I found her conversation unacceptable. Then the Dentist came in, Dr. Nicole Nalbandian. She introduced herself and immediately asked me what I do for a living. (From my experience that is a red flag. It's intentional to see how much more money they can get outside of the covered insurance.) She then stood behind me looking at my x-rays without discussing her observations. I never saw the x-rays because there were on the screen behind me. That was Red flag number 2. Next, she says..."looks like we have have a lot of work to do". But wasn't specific. I found her mannerism very arrogant and unprofessional. Lastly, I scheduled 3 appointments 3 weeks of each other. 2 for the deep cleanings and one for the crown where my cracked tooth was. I was contacted 6-8 times to confirm these appointments by phone, text and email. This was the final straw of red flag 3. The incompetence of scheduling the appointments is where I cancelled everything and ended up going elsewhere. The inability to communicate like a professional and the inability to schedule 3 simple appointments is where they lost me. I think these ladies need to do better. Again, I do not recommend this company. There are at least a hundred or more dentist in the city of Burbank. I recommend seeking a more experienced and professional business. read more

I tried giving this place a shot :( I really did. Even after all the mistakes that were made. I came here for a chipped tooth after talking to the receptionist. She quoted me a price and told me to come in that same day and told me they were available to fix it for me if I came within the next 30 minutes. When I get there, everything seemed fine until I sat in the chair and started getting helped by Dentist Chalian. She seemed annoyed that I was asking for the price because they wanted to add on x-rays and I was paying out of pocket. I told her I was fine with the price and I don't think she heard me and she gives me a smart remark saying that I don't have to get it done. I told her I approved of the charge. Her assistant even looked confused when I asked what was going on because she walked away. The dentist then comes back and says she can't fix my tooth that day because she already has someone else that she's helping. I wasn't understanding why I was told to come in if she wasn't available. She sent me on my way and then the receptionist told me how much they were going to charge which was $500-$600 more than I was originally told. She then started telling me that the quote she gave me was just for the appointment. My aunt is a dental assistant in Beverly Hills and the only reason I didn't go there was because they weren't available until the end of the week. I checked in with her to see if they were quoting me correctly and she quickly responded that they were ripping me off. The receptionist then started changing whatever quote she gave me and told me I was getting a discount. I felt like I was being taken advantage of. On the way home I get a call from their new dentist Dr Nalbandian who quickly apologized and said she would be helping me the next day. She confirmed pricing and apologized which I honestly appreciated. Apparently she is new at this practice and I wanted to put my fear and doubt aside. When I went in the next day she fixed the tooth but when I got into the car I noticed in the natural light that my tooth was still slanted from where it chipped. I immediately went back in and she fixed it. The next day I was eating pizza in the office and the edge of the tooth chipped. It had only been a day! I once again had to go back in to get that fixed. When I went in I got the "what were you eating?" question as if it was my fault like I had been eating something hard. I didn't take offense because I figured she's doing her job and needs to know but it's frustrating. After fixing what chipped I told her that my tooth felt like bumpy clay/chalk and she said it would go away in a few days because the binding had just been completed. Fast forward to weeks later and it hasn't gone away. The tooth was just poorly bonded and it's bumpy. Check out the photos. You can see how the tooth was not left properly polished Dr Nalbandian is a very sweet woman and I do see that she cares for her patients. I know that she tried her hardest and I truly appreciate that but at the end of the day this is my mouth and teeth and it just wasn't done right. Every time I eat I think I have food stuck in my teeth because of how uneven the tooth feel's. read more

Been going to Dr Chalian for about 2 years now since I moved to LA. it's been a Wonderfull experience. Before I moved to LA my teeth were in terrible condition, I was a broke college student with no insurance and an unhealthy looking smile. The helpfull staff was ready to accomodate my scheduling needs, and I was able to pay out of pocket easily. She helped me turn my oral care around and was able to fix my teeth cosmetically too. My best experience has been with Dr Chalian's cosmetic dentistry abilities. At first I had my teeth Bonded as a quick fix, She sculpted a new facade onto my smile which was excellently done. Later when I had insurance she recommended moving to full veneers. The veneers were sculpted perfectly and have an excellent shape and silhouette. When I look in the mirror it looks like an actors smile. I can honestly say it was life transforming. I couldn't speak more highly of this practice. read more

I am probably the biggest baby in the world when I visit the dentist, even though I've never had major problems with my teeth. Just thinking about a dental appointment makes my blood pressure skyrocket. That said, I must sing the praises of Dr. Chalian and her staff!!! Dr. Chalian is a wonderful, kind dentist. I began taking my mother to her, and after my mom passed away, I began going there myself. It's a small, old, old-fashioned office, but clean. The equipment seems on the dated side...no sonic teeth cleaning, etc. The doctor does all the work herself including the teeth cleaning. I unfortunately cannot go to her any longer as I have a dental HMO and she is not on the plan. I'm sure that will end at some point and I will go back to her. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Chalian since she took over my old dentist's office in North Hollywood many years ago and now go to her in Burbank. I have tried other dentists because it seems crazy to drive all the way from Northridge when there are dentists on every street, but have returned to her and will stay because she is just that good, kind, and caring.
