Maybe I miss Steve but I've been listening to Slacker and Steve...and now just Slacker for over 15 years. I used to think they were funny but day to day, things got more and more emotional and personal so the joking kind of felt more like hazing and shaming others. Clearly, none of them should be giving advice about relationships and parenting...or life in general. I recall hearing Slacker say how much work it takes to put the show together which is why they have to have 4 people on the show. Seriously? I listen to other shows that have two or three and don't tend to flounder through segments, get off topic and pretty much spiral out of control over controversial rankings of Lions...yes...lions folks...way to go Tony from Frosted Flakes. So, I could pick away at all of the segments they do throughout the short time they do it in because here's what I have stumbled upon in the past couple of years that many others probably know as well...the repeats. From 3pm until 5:30 ish, it's all live. Then, for the next hour and a half, we get to listen to it all again. I'm sure the premise is so people that were not off work yet can enjoy what was missed but they don't get the chance to call in. Why would they attempt to report on any kind of news? Unless something brand new had happened when the show starts, everything else has been blurted out by tv and radio all morning long leaving topics of "news" to be scarce and not note worthy. Though I appreciate some of the jokes and banter between the folks, they are not a far cry from the morning morons and their level of intelligence. read more

Jamie of Alice 105.9 called Montebello Monte-Ghetto today on my way in to work. This is beyond degrading to an entire community. It is not appropriate and when I called to complain the show clearly did not care. I got hung up on twice and the person who answered would not give me his name when I stated I was going to complain with Audacy. I have left a voicemail with Audacy and am going to be writing a letter to it's management. If you are also not ok with this kind of behavior, make sure to never listen to Alice 105.9! read more

I tune into 105.9 regularly - morning, noon, and night. Actually, I'm less inclined to listen after Slacker and Steve sign-off. I can not stand "The New Girl" Kim Iverson (a nationwide broadcast deal, not someone local). She talks more than anyone else, and sometimes her music selections do not line up with the taste of Alice listeners. I wish they would come up with another solution to evening broadcasts. Anyway, I love the morning show with BJ, Jennifer, and Howie, and Slacker and Steve are always amusing. I look forward to WHITE TRASH NEWS FLASH :) Sam Hill is alright and the others that fill in for her. The music is pretty predictable but at least it is mostly music that I like. read more

Love listening to Alice. I am an A-List member and I just got a gift card in the mail for $25 for no reason other than I am an A-List member. That's nice of them... Who knew a radio station could be sweet? Bummers - Jennifer is gone from the morning show. Sad, sad, sad day. She was great to listen to in the mornings. Kim Iverson is on the station. Okay, she sounds like a nice girl but if I have to listen to her man problems on my way from work ... AHHH!! I would like some good music but she talks for most of the time she is on air and she isn't local. That's a bummer. They play Gwen Stefani far too often... love Alice... love Gwen... don't love that all day long. Uppers - GREAT personalities on-air! BJ, Howie, Sam, Slacker, Steve... even Mikey! They are funny and move the shows along well. Fun prizes and good contests. GREAT website! Really good quality streaming audio. Overall, this judge gives them a solid 4. Blah top 40 format. You can guess what will be played in the next hour without much effort at all. If it's in a cell phone commercial, you'll hear it on ALICE. Need an update on annoying celebrities? Tune in around 9 AM on weekday mornings. And will you PLEASE stop playing that AWFUL Delilah song? It was good maybe twice. Now it's like a jackhammer to the forehead. But somehow I keep listening to it. I've even called in a couple of times during the clearly contrived arguments between Slacker and Steve in the afternoons- of COURSE they always disagree, how else would they get you to keep listening? Ok so I don't really listen to radio anymore but pandora and my favorite songs on my iPod. I had to write this review so no one misses the yearly event sponsored by Alice 105.9 AuNaturAlice show at the Soiled Dove. Last night was the 10th year for AuNaturAlice show and I had never heard about until about two weeks ago when I found out the event was sold out. Duh- I don't listen to Alice 105.9. I heard a song on Itunes by Vicci Martinez "Come Along with Me" I started listening to her on Pandora and loved her music and voice. I liked her page on facebook and wrote how much I loved her music and please come to Denver. Turns out she wrote me back and said I will be in Denver on April 11th. Not only was Vicci Martinez performing but Keaton Simons, Matt Hires and Life House. Wow what a show so I knew I had to go. The event was sold out and I tried to get tickets everywhere, Ebay, CraigsList, StubHub, and various ticket agencies. I was like a stalker liking every performers page on FB asking for tickets for sale. I posted an ad in Craigs List for tickets wanted and a couple couldn't find a babysitter. My lucky day had arrived two days before the show and in a snowstorm I drove to Denver to get the prized tickets. These are prized tickets as once this show sells out people hold on to them. No one was selling tickets out side the venue prior to the show. I had to write this review because this AuNaturAlice event should not be missed! I want to go every year as I was impressed with the performers an the Soiled Dove as a venue. Tip- Buy your tickets as soon as they go on sale! I loved this show - thanks Alice 105.9 maybe I will listen to you on the radio sometime. read more

I listen to Alice for the shows--the morning show with BJ, Howie, and Jennifer, and Slacker & Steve in the afternoons. They all crack me up and keep me entertained when I actually have the radio on. As for the station, they do play mostly top 40 like Jelena said, but it's a treat to hear great 90's rock once in a while. Any station that still plays Third Eye Blind is okay in my book. read more

Okay so I used to listen to the morning show but Jaimie has GOT TO GO. She's the most ANNOYING person I've ever heard on the radio. I don't know who she slept with to get that job but I'd rather be deaf than listen to her. BJ is no better though. I called in one morning and they were both extremely rude and kept talking over everything I was saying. The afternoon show is good sometimes but they need pick better topics and better callers I'm tired of listening about people who have marriage issues or cheating or divorce. Talk about irony -- Alannis Morrisett should rewrite her song on Jagged Little Pill and include my Ironic Home Stereo which only receives 1 station--the worst station in Denver- Alice. With a town full of excellent radio; from NPR, to alternative galore, Mountain, Bear, Mix, Kiss, and the others..l can only get Alice..the station which only knows 6 songs, and DJ's who say the same thing every day--Slacker and Steve (pm drive time) try to shake it up, but they are on such a tight leash, we'll never know if they possess real talent. I would give 5 stars if they got rid of Jamie! She is SO ANNOYING. I miss Erica! That's when I started listening, is when Erica was on in the morning. I guess Jamie was there before Erica, but after Jamie came back on, I sometimes wanted to punch her through the radio every time she referred to her then-current boyfriend as "okie-dokie"...it's ok at first, but after months and months of hearing "okie dokie" 20 times in the morning, it gets old. What ANNOYS THE F**K OUT OF ME is her celebrity gossip (or whatever she calls it). She gets all of her gossip blurbs from Yahoo!'s news feed the day before, so everything she is passing off as new celebrity gossip, I'm thinking, "uh, yeah, I just saw that online yesterday...woo-hoo!". LAME! At least give credit where credit is due and SAY, "on yahoo yesterday, it looks like so-and-so is cheating on so-and-so" instead of playing it off like EVERYONE LISTENING TO YOU DOESN'T ALREADY KNOW THIS FROM GOING ONLINE THE DAY BEFORE!!! A little originality goes a long way! I'm sure there are much more original djs-in-the-making out there that would do a MUCH better job! Slacker and Steve, hilarious!
