I write this with tears in my eyes as our Primrose journey is coming to an end with our youngest attending elementary in the fall. When my older daughter was two I knew she needed to transition from a private nanny to a school environment. I did my research; I checked out every "outstanding" preschool in the Katy area! I wanted a school that REALLY CARED about my daughter, met my ridiculously high cleanliest/hygienic standards, provided healthy foods (I have a degree in Dietetics), and provided outstanding academic curriculum. Most importantly, I wanted a school that would be an extension of "home" for her. Primrose was the soft place we landed and it was the best decision for our family. My oldest daughter started in Preschool A and attended through the Explorers program (3rd grade). My youngest started at 8 weeks old in the infant room and just completed her Kindergarten year at the Kelliwood location. I am in awe of how much my daughters grew in their time there. Primrose is certainly a leader in early education with their curriculum extending far beyond ABC's and numbers. The children learn essential life skills, critical thinking, social skills, good manners, how to be good citizens of the world, ways to be healthy, and get to experience frequent hands-on-learning field trips (Pre-K and older), etc. Both of my girls are/were more than prepared for elementary school. My oldest transitioned into the GT program in elementary and my youngest is leaving Primrose Kindergarten on a 1st grade level for math and reading. And while academics are important, it's really the staff that has made our time there such a sweet experience. The teachers and administration truly care about each student. They are vibrant and fun, they love on the kids, they come up with creative and fun learning activities and are always throwing a party for something! It is truly a family atmosphere. When COVID-19 began and students started online learning, Ms. Klein (Kinder teacher) and the staff created a seamless transition. I was impressed by their creativity in finding different and fun ways to engage with the kids as if they were in the classroom! Kindergarten: Ms. Klein and Ms. Fari THANK YOU for teaching and loving on BOTH of my girls. You will always hold a special place in their hearts. Admin: Ms. Ashley, Ms. Melissa, Ms. Jenny, Ms. E. THANK YOU for making us laugh, for throwing the best parties, and loving on my girls. To all the teachers and admin that have taught the girls over the past 9 years (including the teachers and admin that are at other Primrose locations now).... too many to list!! THANK YOU!!!! We love you and after COVID is over, we are coming back for BIG hugs.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but parents deserve to know about our experience…read more We entrusted British Private Prep School with the care and safety of our children and were ultimately forced to withdraw them because we lost confidence in the school's ability to adequately address serious safety concerns. Our daughter disclosed an incident involving inappropriate touching by another student. When we brought the matter to the school's attention, we expected an immediate and thorough investigation. Instead, more than a week passed with little meaningful action, despite multiple follow-up emails from us requesting answers. By the time the school began looking into the matter, we were informed that any potentially relevant video footage had already been deleted because the camera system only retains recordings for approximately one week. We were then told that, without video evidence, the school was relying on the accounts of staff members rather than our daughter's disclosure. What has been most heartbreaking is the impact this has had on our daughter. Prior to this incident, she loved attending school. Since disclosing what happened, she has expressed that she feels uncomfortable and does not want to return. As parents, watching that change has been devastating. We understand that schools cannot prevent every incident that may occur between children. However, we believe parents have a right to expect prompt communication, timely investigations, preservation of available evidence, and a response that takes a child's concerns seriously. Every parent must make their own decision, but based on our experience, we felt it was necessary to immediately withdraw our children from the school for their well-being and peace of mind. We hope the school takes this opportunity to review its procedures regarding incident reporting, investigations, parent communication, and video retention so that no other family has to experience what ours has gone through. EDIT TO ADD: After everything that happened, I later learned that the director was no longer at the school, approximately a month or two after I reported our situation to the state. The school was also fined following the state's involvement. Because our primary concern throughout this entire situation was how the director handled what happened to our daughter, I reached back out to the school after learning she was no longer there to see if our boys could possibly return. The school had us bring our son in, tested him for placement into the Bridge Program, introduced him to his teachers, and allowed him to get excited about returning to a school he had previously loved. Then, later that SAME DAY, we received an email stating that because of the situation involving our daughter a few months prior, they felt it was best that our family not return. As a parent, this was incredibly upsetting. We advocated for our daughter when she told us she had been touched inappropriately, reported our concerns through the appropriate channels, and now our other children are being denied the opportunity to return because of that same situation. From our perspective, it feels like our family is being punished for advocating for our daughter and demanding that what happened to her be taken seriously. The way everything has been handled has also left me with serious concerns about what the school is trying to avoid or distance itself from. Even more concerning, after I made an anonymous Facebook post discussing our experience with the school, several people responded with concerning stories of their own. One anonymous commenter stated that her husband is a police officer and had been called to this same school a couple of years ago for a very similar situation. I cannot personally verify the details of that incident, so I want to be clear that I am sharing what was reported to me, not presenting it as something I witnessed firsthand. At this point, there have simply been too many red flags for me to stay quiet. I strongly encourage parents considering this school to do their own research, ask difficult questions about how incidents involving children are documented, investigated, and communicated to parents, and think very carefully before deciding whether this is where they want to send their children.

Once we made the choice to put our son back in childcare the search began. I've heard great things about all the Primrose schools and approached the one in kelliwood. The staff was so helpful during the crazy time and even provided a video walk through of the school when parents weren't allowed to enter. We started with summer enrollment and then continued for Pre-K. My son has learned so much during his time here. I heard about so many children getting behind and I never felt like we were in that boat. Unfortunately we will be moving to a new district for Kinder, but I'm confident my son has a great foundation which he got from Kelliwood! Thanks to all the staff for the memories!!

From retreats to Lutherhill, Snow boarding trips to Angel Fire, installing conduit with pastor Mike after school while exspanding the church and the deep life conversations we had as I went through a difficult time in my life(teenage drug and alcohol use) I completed my confirmation here as well. I still speak to some of my the fellow youths to this day ( I am 36 now). I have not been back to visit in about 12 years ( Iv'e been stationed in Coronado CA, Little Creek VA) but as my children grow I have always used Living Word as the standard I look for in terms of their youth program and excepting congregation. The youth programs were 2nd to none. Us teens could come to the church and hang out in the youth room at ANY time, and I mean ANY TIME! . We would call Pastor Mike on a friday after school or Saturday at 7pm so a group of us could just hang out and eat food and watch movies until 10 or 11 at night. We looked forward to Wednesday confirmation class, Saturday night music worship service and we all would hang out after the 11Am Sunday service. Pastor Mike operated with us (high school youth) knowing if we were at the church we werent out making the mistakes many other teenagers were making, we were safe and in a type of enviorment that can only help us. If Living Word is anything like it was when I attended then you will not find a better House of the Lord to raise a young family in.
