Y'all. I had to recreate a Yelp account to do this and I [expletive] hate Yelp so please understand how legit this woman is that I'm even here rn. If I could give her a 6 I'd give her a 6. If I could give her a 600 I would. I have gotten unnatural (blue, purple, green, blue & purple & green, neon yellow & orange, etc,) color in my hair for around 7 years now and have yet to find a stylist who is able to both honor the vision I came in with and add their own style that elevates it in the way Myla does. Even having crazy colored hair seemed like a somewhat natural thing the way my past stylists would do it, and since I didn't want it to be TOO crazy I would be ok with it. But Myla somehow rode the line between "this isn't a wig I promise" and "were you BORN with blue hair?" and it always came out feeling like art! Plus her cuts and styling always ADD to the overall look rather than feeling like a leftover or a way to mitigate the outlandishness of the color. I'm gonna say it and I ain't even gonna say don't judge because you should definitely judge away boo boo. I never used to think of hairstyling as an artistic endeavor! I know I've seen some cool styles and it's amazing as a complement to an outfit or as a cool talking point. But I never realized how a truly artistic and incredibly talented stylist could make the hairstyle itself the thing to focus upon. I've always loved my hair and have wanted it to be it's own entity instead of just complementing my face or body, and Myla was able to do exactly that even though I didn't know how to express it. I will never go to anyone else. If I move to Paris I'm coming back for cuts and styles from Myla. What Myla IS: -talented -beautiful -hilarious -personable -creative -professional -courteous -honest -fair -my #1 recommendation for a hairstylist anywhere What Myla is NOT: -awkward -expensive -insensitive -inconvenient -that stylist who makes you walk out of the salon thinking of converting to Islam just so you can wear a Burka for the next 8 weeks NEED PROOF? I found Myra's information and talked to her on the phone about what the disastrous hair coloring I had just received and asked her to do a color correction. At my appt she talked me through the process and even told me what would look better with my coloring. The end result was 100 times better and I walked away feeling so much better. I will continue to go to her in the future and would recommend her for coloring to anyone!! I've seen Myla twice. Both times I left the salon feeling like a million bucks. The first appointment, she cleaned up my long, straight, blonde hair and styled it to perfection. The second time, she gave me a long bob, "lob," and really made me feel comfortable during the whole experience. I hadn't had hair above my shoulders for twenty years.
