More recently, the Cafe area at the front of the store has been converted into a Starbucks, which is a nice Starbucks location, I like visiting this Starbucks when shopping at Cheshire Oaks, as it is much nicer and quieter than the one actually inside the centre. The staff in the store seem friendly, and the checkout experience was quick and easy, combined with Smartshop. I was able to find the items I came in for. The store in general does have a slightly older look/feel to it than other Sainsbury's stores, so has more of an older/classic feel, it could do a refurb in the slight future but remains OK for now. 4*

However, Liverpool One Tesco is certainly what the town needs. You still have plenty of choice here, a variety of sections such as deli, clothes and international foods to keep you adding more to your basket! I find this place more of a relaxing and enjoyable shopping experience as opposed to the Metro version by the big screen, because its more spacious and offers an abundance of products. The location isn't great if you're driving there as it'll cost you pounds to park somewhere nearby but certainly convenient when you have other chores to do around town.

Freshness of the produce was very good, although a bit of banter with a Desi customer revealed that he was passing up on the tinda as being too big - although this is no doubt an out-of-season issue. For the mobile cosmopolitan foodie such as myself, the aim is to know where all the ethnic food stores are so that ethnic food shopping can be done with a minimum of detour from other city business and pleasure. Although there is nothing really oustanding about Madina Superstore to make you travel beyond your nearest Desi superstore, it is nice to have a proper Desi supermarket in Levenshulme to save Levy locals a trip up Stockport Road to Longsight. The cafe has been relocated to the new upper floor but is woefully short of toilets, a whole two and they're both intended for the diasbled however a wheelchair user would need to run the gauntlet of the tray carrying cafe customers and the closely placed tables in order to use them. To say the layout wasn't very well thought out is a bit of an understatement. Unfortunately the store also has a thriving home delivery service which has expanded into the carpark. Shoppers use the free parking spaces at Tesco to visit the newly built Eagles Meadow Shopping Mall which is opposite the store making parking in what was already a small carpark almost impossible on a saturday. At peak times you'll be queuing to get in and queing to get out.

They really should offer a street map if they are going to close a main entrance to the public. The selection in most areas was okay, especially the fish and meat counters where the selection was extensive. I did find the toiletries selection to be rather poor, they seemed to have replaced a whole section with overpriced giftsets, meaning toiletries and skincare items you'd find in pretty much any other supermarket weren't stocked here, which was a real shame. I get gift-sets are good Christmas ideas, but why should that mean the items which would usually be sold outside of these overpriced gift-sets not be sold at all?
