The actual restaurant is very small and holding I'd say no more than 10 tables varying in size from two upwards. They catered for big parties as well. After half an hour we returned and ordered. We were used to restaurants like Ask Italian, the choice was excellent. My girlfriend went for the vegetarian gnocchi and I the vegetarian rice dish. I will not attempt to type their Italian names. We also ordered a side of garlic bread to share. The best way for me to say this is that they do not skimp on either the cheese or the portion size, and that the reason why a half portion size is available for almost every dish quickly became explained. I could not finish mine, I felt awful having left nearly half but I was beaten. We shall return and I recommend it to anyone who wants to try real Italian food, when you happen to be in Wales.

They have a wide selection of deserts and an excellent wine menu as well as a well stocked bar. This restaurant has been our family favourite for many years and has hosted numerous celebrations from birthdays and engagements to anniversaries, being suitable for all ages and palates. My only criticism recently is that the prices, which have always been on the high side, have risen even higher and although you really do get value for money here, at current prices in the current economic climate, it does make you think twice about spending quite so much on a meal out. The decor has not changed in twenty years, but this gives it some sort of retro charm, for me at least. Unfortunately, standards have fallen spectacularly. I recently returned home and went for a meal at Nino's with family. It was appalling. Really bad. So bad that I felt it necessary to post a review. So bad that I really begrudged paying for it. Not only was the place dirty - flies (both living and dead) all over the place, the food was also terrible. The menu clearly stated that the Pizza was made from 'home made dough', and for £10.99, I expected it to be. What I received was a heated up budget frozen pizza with a few olives thrown on top. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that this was a store-bought frozen pizza. For eleven pounds. Disgraceful. Others in my party had fish and chips, which is better value, but their reports weren't good. Frozen fish, canned mushy peas, the usual story. It's a real shame because I always held Nino's in high regard and have recommended it to others many times. Personally, I'll never be back. I have never paid so much for something of such poor quality. A definite contender for the 'worst restaurant experience' I have ever had. A real shame indeed.

When we got there the place was packed to the rafters. We were told we could wait and should be seated in twenty minutes. True enough twenty minutes later we were sat at a table and the delay in getting a table was more than made up for by a very fast and efficient service. The food was great and reasonably priced although the drinks seemed a bit steep to me (but I normally buy my beer from the supermarket). The second visit couldn't have been much different. Me and the wife turned up at noon on a Thursday to try the lunchtime buffet to celebrate my birthday. There was no else there so we had a choice of any table we wanted. The buffet costs £5.99 and you get all you can eat from a selection of pizzas, warm pasta dishes and salad. Excellent value for money although I suspect that they wouldn't want too many people with my appetite!
