Seems strange to find an excellent Italian restaurant in Wales of all places.

Whilst I agree with many points of the previous review I am not such a big fan of La Dolce Vita…read morehence my low rating. I agree that it is a very busy and popular restaurant and yes it does have a varied menu but as for serving Authentic Italian food there are many places that are so much better. I think the Menu is far too big (smaller is better) and the lack of an Italian Chef in the Kitchen doesnt help the flavours of the food or the authenticity of the menu. I have eaten at Dolce Vita on a few occasions and always found the food to be quite bland and flavourless. Infact my last visit a couple of months ago was very dissapointing - The Lasagne was smothered in greasy cheese and contained very little meat and the Garlic Bread was disgusting - just one slice of crusty bread spread with tastless Garlic butter (I can make much better at home) It is such a shame that the food is sub-standard because the Old Staff that have been a part of Dolce Vita for many years are both friendly, funny and hard working and the atmosphere in general is very good. The food just needs a little help from a good Italian Chef and this could be a great restaurant.

They have a wide selection of deserts and an excellent wine menu as well as a well stocked bar. The food is always perfect here and I or my family have never ever had any cause to complain about an evening spent here. The atmosphere is warm and friendly and the staff are so pleasant and attentive, the service is always excellent. They have Italian background music which I always find very relaxing. It gets very busy so I'd say it was advisable to book in advance.

It's not the best Italian I have ever been to but I would give it 7/10 but I am used to eating good food as my son is an amatuer chef but very good so any meal I eat has to be of high standard. A great atmosphere but book as it fills up very quickly, we only just managed to get in.

In my opinion this is the yardstick by which all Italian restaurants should be measured ! The…read morerestaurant has been here for a good number of years now and is still the best of the best. The atmosphere is warm, cosy and welcoming with italian music playing but not intrusively, candles always lit on the tables and a lovely atmosphere. The tables are nicely spaced so that even when they are busy you don't feel squashed in. The food is sublime with an excellent choice of dishes on the menu, as well as regular specials, and including english for those who don't eat italian. Meals are always well prepared and well presented. The choice of drinks is a little limited as they don't serve draught bitters or lagers, but they do have a good selection of wines and an italian lager. This restaurant has been our family favourite for many years and has hosted numerous celebrations from birthdays and engagements to anniversaries, being suitable for all ages and palates. The service is always efficient and friendly. My only criticism recently is that the prices, which have always been on the high side, have risen even higher and although you really do get value for money here, at current prices in the current economic climate, it does make you think twice about spending quite so much on a meal out. We will still eat here for special occasions but will probably go elsewhere for those inbetween more regular evenings out.

Set on the picturesque Rhos-on-Sea promenade, Nino's has been a fixture for God knows how long. Always packed on sunny summer's days, it has been very popular with locals and visitors alike. I can vividly remember enjoying a cappuccino in Nino's when a was little more than five years old. It's part of the scenery. The decor has not changed in twenty years, but this gives it some sort of retro charm, for me at least. Unfortunately, standards have fallen spectacularly. I recently returned home and went for a meal at Nino's with family. It was appalling. Really bad. So bad that I felt it necessary to post a review. So bad that I really begrudged paying for it. Not only was the place dirty - flies (both living and dead) all over the place, the food was also terrible. The menu clearly stated that the Pizza was made from 'home made dough', and for £10.99, I expected it to be. What I received was a heated up budget frozen pizza with a few olives thrown on top. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that this was a store-bought frozen pizza. For eleven pounds. Disgraceful. Others in my party had fish and chips, which is better value, but their reports weren't good. Frozen fish, canned mushy peas, the usual story. It's a real shame because I always held Nino's in high regard and have recommended it to others many times. Personally, I'll never be back. I have never paid so much for something of such poor quality. A definite contender for the 'worst restaurant experience' I have ever had. A real shame indeed.
