Although we did have a good experience with Dr. Penhaskashi for my teenage daughter's gum surgery--and he does have a great bedside manner. My complaint? We always have to wait AT LEAST one hour or more after our appointment time before we are seen by the doctor or sometimes even before we actually get into the chair for the appointment start with the nurse. Every. Time. It is so unprofessional and rude to make patients wait. Book your patients more spread out as we always have work, school, appointments and other commitments than to sit in the waiting room for over an hour. read more

I made an appointment for my mother with Dr. Penhaskashi, and the consultation was smooth and attentive. One of the cleanest and hygienic office experiences I've had. Dr. Penhaskashi was kind, thorough, light-hearted, and answered all of our questions. Margaret was also absolutely wonderful and communicative, giving us a breakdown of the treatment and costs. Both Margaret and Dr. Penhaskshi were N95 masked per our access needs, and they remained attentive throughout our consult. I would recommend his office for any advanced periodontitis consultation. read more

Alfred Penhaskashi, DDS - Front office, waiting room - Periodontists Near Me - Encino, California

After searching online for the best Periodontists in the area I found Dr Penhaskashi who looked to be as good as it gets as far as professional credentials, education and patient reviews. I was surprised at how quickly I was able to be seen for an assessment of two issues I needed checked out. Upon arrival the office was clean and beautiful with efficient and friendly front desk people. Lorena soon took me back to a room where she took a couple of X-rays and pictures of the areas in question. She was kind, gentle and proficient with all of her tasks making the experience as pleasant as possible. When Dr Penhaskashi came in I was highly satisfied with his professional and superbly competent demeanor. It was immediately clear he's a man of great integrity. He seemed 100% focused on giving me his most skilled and honest opinion regardless of whether or not his clinic made money on me. He simply recommended I get re-checked in a year as he didn't see anything that needs to be addressed at this point, yet he was very generous in thoroughly analyzing my situation and patiently explaining his findings and thoughts on my issues. Wow, what a GREAT doctor!!! I would wholeheartedly recommend this practice to anyone looking for Periodontal services, even if it's just for some honest top notch advice. read more

I was referred to Dr Penhaskashi by another implant dentist. His laser surgery killed the infection, eliminated needing a bone graft and bone is healing and growing back. I needed gum surgery and that also has been successful. I felt very relaxed and comfortable with this experience. His assistant was very professional and informative. I'm so happy with this experience as it's saved me a ton of agony. read more

Dr. Penhaskashi is the best dentist I've ever gone to. I was referred to him my general dentist and I'm so grateful. He's very knowledgeable and so thorough in his exams. Dr. Penhaskashi is brilliant and caring. Mary is an excellent hygienist. A wonderful practice.

Today I had one of front tooth extracted because It was loose and badly infected, Dr. Penhaskashi will be performing a dental implant in a few months after it heals. Dr. Penhaskashi was explaining to me in details while he was doing the procedure. Very nice Doctor, made sure I was always comfortable during the procedure. The ladies that work in the office with him are all very nice. Always willing to answer questions that I asked in a professional way. Dr. Penhaskashi came highly recommended by my dentist, who had met him at a conference and had been very impressed with his work. Nine implants later over the last 15 years, bone and gum grafts, sinus augmentations, I can praise Dr. P's skills and cutting edge work with total confidence and enthusiasm. I completely trust him, all the procedures he has done for me have been surprisingly painless, all have been successful. He is also very caring and always calls in the evening after a procedure to check on me. His office has a team of excellent hygienists, and friendly staff. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. P. read more

I went and paid $150 for a consultation to get implants back in February. Dr Penhaskashi told me that I would first need to have a gum graft surgery before I can get new teeth. I was given 2 treatment plans one with the extractions, gum and bone graft and one with just the gum graft which means I'd have to come back for the rest later. This was this whole thing could be a six month procedure according to his assistant Margaret depending on which treatment plan I selected. It wasn't I got home that I was looking over both treatment plans that noticed there was nothing on either one regarding my temporary teeth or the actual teeth the would be placed on the stems. I called back and spoke to Margaret and asked about the rest of my teeth and why it wasn't included on my treatment plans. She said they don't do the prosthetics there and would have to go somewhere else for that. I was shocked to find that out and asked if I would be walking out of there with no teeth! She said it would have to be coordinated with whatever dentist I would go for that. I never heard of such a thing and the whole thing confused me even more than the two treatment plans which were already confusing me. I asked how that all works out with the financing, the coordinating etc. I got no answers. I also asked for a referral to a dentist he works with to get this done. Still got no answers. In my frustration of needing to get this done, I wrote a confidential letter to Dr Penhaskashi saying I want to get this done because I at the time I thought he was the most knowledgeable of all the consultations I had and I needed some answers and referrals to dentists he works with before I proceeded. I never got a reply and was forced to move on. Luckily after searching around, I found my place to have the work done with another periodontist. They are doing everything there in one place and they were super nice and understanding. I was also told that the gum graft would have done absolutely nothing for me and they further explained how they would take care of my receding gums issue. After my current consultation, the gum graft just sounded to me like another way to make more money from my already expensive mouth. At the end of the day, I have to thank Dr Penhaskashi and his not so incredible staff for not responding. I have now found the not so money hungry dental group that can take care of all my needs in one place. Not only is the new place not charging me extra for the anesthesia, whitening my teeth and mouth guard , they also taking care of a decayed tooth that needs a crown that I was not informed of during my visit with Dr Penhaskashi . My new consultation was free and it included a ct scan . They are super nice and explained everything in detail to my liking. If you need a recommendation to them hit me up. I also recommend getting several consultations until you get all the answers you're looking for. read more

I am an admitted chicken when it comes to all dental-related procedures.. However, Dr. P could potentially reform me. He was kind and patient and seemed genuinely concerned with my apprehension. Surgery was last Friday, and as of last Sunday, I didn't need another pain pill. To say I was thrilled with the process sounds a bit odd, but I know for sure if I'm in need of surgery again (), there's only one oral surgeon I'll be seeing! Thank you, Dr. P. Dr. Penhaskashi and his entire staff are truly wonderful and I feel lucky to have had my procedure with them. I came in very nervous about my bone graft and not only did they make me comfortable before the surgery, but the surgery itself was fantastic. No discomfort whatsoever; they are so so careful to make sure you feel nothing at all. Also, Dr. P was very happy to deal with my challenging mouth situation. You can tell that he really knows what he is doing AND wants his patients to be happy. I feel so comfortable with all of them after just two visits. I cannot recommend them enough. read more

I first learned about DR. P through a professional recommendation and happier I could not be! I have extensive gum recession and needed a trusted expert in tissue grafting. I had this procedure performed 20 years ago by a different perio, and this time around it was MUCH easier and tolerable. (Absolutely no discomfort during the procedure, moderate discomfort after the anesthesia wore off, and virtually no discomfort the following morning.) As for Dr. P, he's absolutely wonderful, kind, engaged, and of course expertly skilled. I've never been unnerved by any dental visit, but his practice is perfect for those who are. The office vibe is warm and comforting. (Big props to Vanessa who assisted during surgery.) Everything was carefully explained to me, and both communicated with me throughout the procedure. Dr. P is also an educator, so the some of the procedure was videoed and narrated, which I thought was super cool. When the procedure was complete, he recorded a video update for my referring dentist to keep her in the loop. Dr. P personally called me the evening after the procedure to see how I was doing and even offered his personal cell number in case the need arose. Not that many doctors do that! Needless to say, I love my new perio and his wonderful staff. read more

I had a dental implant done on the right front part of my mouth upper level. From beginning to end I have had nothing but professionalism and authentic care for my personal needs. I had considered other much less expensive options but felt I should take this step for longevity sake. I am so pleased with the results. Just know that it is a long haul to do a dental implant properly and you must be patient but it is not painful and it is definitely worth it to get it done right the first time. read more

I recently had a connective tissue grafting procedure done by Dr. Alfred Penhaskashi, and am delighted to recommend him as a consummate professional. I was extremely nervous about this. However, Dr. Penhaskashi not only allayed my fears but, continued to explain in a kind and sensitive way, throughout the procedure, and in great detail, what was happening. In addition to this grafting procedure, and prior to this, I also have had two teeth which needed implants, which were successfully done by Dr. Penhaskashi many years ago. In addition, I'd like to say that this doctor has an entire team of dedicated, personable, and happy staff in his practice which adds to a peaceful environment as an additional benefit. read more

I was referred to Dr. Penhaskashi by my wonderful dentist Dr. Susan Fredericks. The Dr. Performed gum surgery on the gums above my front 2 teeth . The gums needed to be receded for aesthetic purposes, which I requested. The staff upon entering is very professional & prompt. Their customer service whether in person , on the phone , or via text is perfect. They are currently following Covid restrictions very well . The surgery itself was honestly so relaxing . Dr. P dims the lights & has a star show projected onto the ceiling to serve as a distraction, or just simply something to look at ! It was a calm environment thru the process & I really appreciated that feeling so much . Dr. P is patience with questions & takes his times talking with his patients. On a personal observation, Dr. P puts $ back into his business in my opinion, due to the equipment, light show , beautiful real orchids , nice pens , Covid air purifiers, holiday goodies, cleanliness & staff performance. I am very satisfied with my experience here. 10 out of 10 recommend ! read more

Dr. P. Is an amazing periodontist. I am a chicken in every sense of the word. He promised me it would not hurt. Of course I thought he was fibbing to the max! A toothache is unbearable, how could an implant not hurt? I hate pain, but being in pain and being sore is completely different. HE WAS RIGHT! No pain! The surgery itself was nothing; by that I mean, absolutely no pain or discomfort, during or after. I even went on my planned vacation out of the country 2 weeks after the procedure Dr. P. was very kind and straightforward and very professional. The staff was friendly and helpful. I went for a consultation for a skin graft procedure. I found Dr. P to be incredibly condescending when I asked a very simple question.
