    Mexican Pizza!
    Steven D.

This place makes the best pizza I've ever had in my life. Every time we go to Ensenada we make sure to stop at Alfonso's. I wish I could get something a quarter as amazing as this place makes.

It was my second time trying Alfonso's Pizza and it was still as good as the first time. Considering that this was in mexico, the price was almost as the US prices. The quality of food was delicious. The pizza isnt just any regular pepperoni pizza, it was thick with a lot of cheese! So yummy! The complimentary buns were so soft and paired perfectly with the butter. The shrimp Alfredo pasta was beyond delicious. It was creamy yet a little watery but still delicious flavor.

15 mins was too long for him

The pizza was pretty good for being in Mexico. I felt the cheese is a little different from the states. It was very cheesy though and quite affordable. I asked a few people where to get pizza and they all said this place. The staff was friendly and attentive and the food came out in a timely manner. We sat outside because the weather was amazing. I feel this place would get real busy once the cruise ships start to roll in. They sere complimentary bread as well, which is a plus! Enjoy.

A lovely decoration for the table

The pizza on our cruise sucked! We were jonesing for some good thick crust pizza and this was a fantastic spot to get it. For $12.77 we got an xs cheese pizza (my 6 year old only ate one piece before feeling full, she ate one more piece before having to throw it out to get back on our cruise), and a small pepperoni/onion/pineapple (hubby and I managed to finish it, but just barely). Upon being seated the waiter gave us some bread, too. It was really good! Eat it. The prices are listed in pesos so just divide by 20 to get your approximate USD price. The waiter we had spoke great English (the bus boy did not, but he got the waiter when we tried to tell him something). I'd definitely go here again. And it's walking distance from the cruise port so you can save your $4 to take the shuttle "downtown".

Freshly made rolls made from pizza dough brought out as a snack. They were good with butter and very good with grated cheese!

Alfonso's is a good place to eat. They have breakfast too. My favorite is the machaca either eggs. The portion is good and the flavor is great. My husband ordered French toast twice-the first time, it was good the second was not hot-so they just nuked and threw too much cinnamon on top. As far as the pizza. We have had them deliver and have eaten in the restaurant. We had a large group get together and they started getting hungry. I didn't even know Alfonso's delivered but someone else did-so they called and ordered a gigante-which is a giant pizza. They got s combinations with sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms and olives. It took a bit but the pizza was hot and fresh out of the oven. It was gone in no time and everyone said it was good. The second time, we were staying in town, walking around and needed a small snack for just my husband and I. Someone went by with an Alfonso's box and that's all it took. We went in, ordered an XS-extra small with just 4 slices like a personal pan pizza. My husband loves the crust which is thicker and had a nice crust. Toppings were mushrooms and sausage. We sat at a table and they brought 2 rolls made of pizza dough and baked. They were good with butter and very good sprinkled with grated cheese. It did take a bit for the pizza but, again, it was made fresh, baked and delivered to your table hot and the cheese bubbling. The crust was a bit soft but the sauce and cheese good. The service was great and the staff very nice. It's great that they deliver, too. It's a great way to get a quick dinner.

Loved this spot! We were starving and decided to give this place a try. We had breakfast items, SO ordered the chilaquiles and I ordered a cilantro creme omelette, both entrees came with beans and hash browns. We also had an order of pancakes on the side. It was way too much food for us. They also start you off with house made bread, which is toasted and smeared in butter, they add a generous portion of apricot jam. We would definitely eat here again.

Da Toni. Im actually…read morequite surprised this is my first review for a business in my beautiful home town of EnseNasty. I always thought Fauna would be my first but hey, whatever. Here it goes! I've been coming to this restaurant for years, easily idk more than 6 or 7 y tengo que decir que señor Toni es un chingón and knows how to assemble a masterful beastly team in the kitchen. Regarding the owner and head chef, he's a cool dude and I very much enjoy shooting the shit with him every time I visit. Essentially, the food is always good, no one can deny that. Whether it's the long standing regular menu with the classics or the seasonal specials. I truly love how it's clearly an Italian restaurant that proudly incorporates local flavors & ingredients as well as slightly fuses other types of cuisines. You can definitely taste the Mexican influence in some of the dishes like in the spaghetti con pesto di Serrano e jalapeño. I absolutely love that dish, The flavors just pop and play together so eloquently. MARCA DIABLO as mi abuelito chichi would say. Italian hand emoji unlocked with essentially every dish I've had there. The rib eye I orders on my most recent visit around early November was a true highlight, best execution of any Da Toni visit and one of the best steaks I've had in Baja. Highly recommend this place. They recently switched over to another location which makes the restaurant improve drastically, not just the design and ambiance but also adds some much needed space that the other location really lacked. salute, denaro e amore

Thoughtful Italian dishes with a nod to local Baja ingredients from the land and sea. The…read moreprofessional open air kitchen has bustling sous chefs with the head executive chef/owner at the helm. Every plate comes out beautiful and delicious. It's not a surprise as the executive chef/owner worked in San Francisco restaurants before coming to Ensenada. The Tagliarini con Erizo de Mar (Tagliarini pasta with sea urchin) is absolutely amazing. Sea urchin tends to be on some Ensenada menus and I'm delightfully speculating that it's fresh from the region. Most diners have enjoyed sea urchin in sushi restaurants, but I've got to tell you, this preparation will expand your palate. If sea urchin isn't for you, there are other wonderful pasta plates, such as pasta with truffles, or main courses such as ribeye, branzino fish, a porterhouse and more. The service is impeccable and the ambiance reminds me of a trattoria in a small Italian city. Prices are reasonable and what you'd expect for elevated Italian food. A must visit for Ensenada.
