So they did my taxes and did them accurately. I'm not so sure that they saved me any money, but…read morethey didn't cost me any extra either. The problem came when the IRS did not post my final payment. I received a bill from the IRS saying that I owed them over $2000. I sent the letter and the proof of payment to them and asked them what happened? They told me that I had to call the IRS to find out why they didn't post my payment. I even reverified that they were not going to make that call for me. My taxes are complicated, and I have had a CPA prepare my taxes and electronically file them every year for the past 30 years. Things like this don't happen often, but when they do THE CPA IS THE ONE WHO CALLS THE IRS ON MY BEHALF!! If there were an error on the preparation of the document, then I would have been at a loss to explain it. I ended up waiting on the phone for 4 hours and was able to get it straightened out myself. However, I am now looking for another accounting firm because this is not the level of service I require. At the same time, as I said, they prepared my taxes accurately, so I don't think it's fair to give them just one star. I'm not sure I would recommend them though, just based upon the fact that they aren't going to help you if anything goes wrong.

CapForge are definitely Amazon experts and my accounts are always up to date. On top of their 5 star expertise, they offer incredible value compared to other CPAs or agencies out there. I have an accounting background so I am not talking from a perspective of ignorance, these guys are great! On top of my side gig, I am now using them a for a new start up entity and so far everything has been a breeze. Melissa and Elaine are the 2 bookkeepers I have dealt with and they are accurate, fast and really great to work with. Matt, the owner is also always available to jump on a call and discuss more complex issues. Highly recommend!!!

After numerous emails and calls they eventually got it right but created a lot of extra work for themselves and myself. When I followed up last week about organizing the most recent numbers the first email was ignored and the second one took them 6 days to get me a quote for something that should have been a quick email response. When I showed them the lack of correspondence via email they called and apologized but couldn't understand the accounting task and quoted an unreasonable number for the job. We agreed to part ways as my gut was telling me if were already having this many issues than it's not going to be a good fit.

I reached out to this firm via email regarding tax planning for two foreign rental properties I…read moreown, as well as a fairly sizeable investment portfolio. I got a call back from one of the principals Natalia. The conversation was brusque and short- I felt as if I was being screened for whether I was worth their time or not. I was told I would get an email with more information and that I could schedule a consultation, which I was actually interested in doing. After the call I emailed her again with 2 brief follow up questions. Its been a few days now and I never received any further response. I realize that with April 15th looming they are likely very busy- apparently so much so that they don't really care about future business, or the basic courtesy of replying to a prospect even if they feel they aren't a good fit. **Response to the owner's reply** Natalia, You are conflating a request for 'free advice' with a standard inquiry into your service scope. Asking whether a firm provides quarterly MAGI forecasting and estimated payment vouchers is not seeking case-specific guidance; it is vetting a firm's technical capabilities before committing to a paid engagement. As I *specifically* stated in my follow-up email--which went unacknowledged--I was potentially ready to schedule a consultation once your firm confirmed it actually provided the planning-led services I require. I fully realize that professional tax advice is not free. However, to clarify the facts (and contrary to your statement), the topic of fees never once arose because your intake process failed at the most basic level: professional follow-through. If these services were 'out of scope,' a simple confirmation would have provided closure. Instead, you chose radio silence based on a two-minute pre-judgment. I have moved on to a firm that is transparent about their deliverables and understands that vetting a firm is part of the business, not a 'request for free work'.

Ummm, I didn't know this was a 'personal line' or why I would be asked immediately why I was calling for tax services at 7am on a Friday....Weird. Moving on, I attempted to briefly explain my employment income and that I was a homeowner. After informing her I was a homeowner, which based on my voice, she could tell I am female...she said she could help me and 'my husband'. Uh, lady, it's 2022! Get with the times! I ain't got no husband...I'm single, thank you very much. And surprise, surprise, as a 'working woman', I need to also file my taxes... I promptly informed her that maybe she shouldn't list her personal (?) line on Yelp, as it's listed for her BUSINESS and hung up... Maybe don't answer your business line if you are not 'at work' or ready and willing to accept a new client that would have been a consistent yearly payment for the next 25 years... Oh gasp! I'm under 40 too!...with no husband!? What ever will I do?! Thanks, but no thanks! Fail.
