I had my eyebrows done and lashes tinted here. The eyelash tinting didn't last and my eyebrows took 2 minutes. Not a friendly warm experience which can sometimes make it worth it. Super expensive. I would go somewhere else. read more

I've had two services here- eyebrow microblading and also facial dermaplaning. Both services by Chrissy L, who is a pro at what she does. She's really knowledgeable about product, answers all your concerns (as silly as some of mine were :P) Microblading is awesome bc it gave me the eyebrows I've always wished I had- Chrissy gave advice on color for my "new" brows, and ended up mixing two colors to my liking. It's definitely a process but so worth it! Now even if I'm not wearing makeup, my eyebrows really frame my face. The facial dermaplaning was great too. My skin was feeling rough and sandpaper-like, so this was needed! It takes away your peach fuzz and dead skin cells. I feel like a new person and my makeup goes on SO smooth now! Alexis's style and taste in the salon is so chic and upscale, I really felt like I was treating myself. They run specials every so often, so check those out. I follow the salon on Instagram, which is where I learn about their services and offers. The environment is low key and comfortable so even someone like me (I don't frequent salons much) feels at ease. All the girls are so friendly and make you feel good. Highly recommend! read more

I didn't have Alexis as my brow shaper, I had her protegee, Christie, who was very nice and informative but doesn't have the same experience that Alexis has. Christie charges $30 while Alexis charges $40. I think I should have waited to see when Alexis would be available and pay the extra $10. Granted my brows are hard to deal with, I had at least hoped for better results. Service: Christie was extremely nice and easy to talk to. She gave me some great information on where to grow out my brows and products that help with brow growth. However, I didn't leave with symmetrical brows even after powder was applied. I was hoping that after the wax and shaping, she could at least make my brows look fuller and even but this was not the case. Although I didn't believe the technical service was that great. She did provide great customer service and had perfect brows of her own. Location: It's in beautiful Del Mar but drive slow cause the house is pretty easy to miss. Their are some spaces available for parking, but not a lot. Limited street parking is available too. Don't be fooled by the different signs outside. There are about 3 different businesses at this house. As long as you have the right address, you're in the right place. Final thoughts: I would say that if you're really picky about your brows or have hard to maintain brows, wait for Alexis. It might be worth it. read more

Alexis K saved my skin for my wedding!! With all the stress of planning a destination wedding and my florist canceling on the wedding two weeks before the day, it's safe to say I was a whole lot stressed and my skin flared up the week of my wedding! I went to Alexis K to get my eyebrows done with Brianne. She asked how I was doing and I spilled the beans! Being the sweet human that she is she asked Katie if she could fit me in right then for an emergency facial (as I call it). Katie and Brianne brainstormed the best custom facial for my skin. Katie took time from her lunch to help me calm my inflamed skin and help me relax before I jumped on a plane the next morning! I am beyond grateful to this gorgeous studio and these amazing women! Went to Alexis' new location in Solana Beach today for brow wax and glycolic peel. I FEEL LIKE A NEW WOMAN! After having a baby, my primping routine was axed due to lack of time and energy, and well, caring. Alexis just slapped some pretty back into me! My skin feels wonderful after the glycolic - it's a quick 10 minutes and you are good as new! Not uncomfortable at all (as some peels can be). Plus she did a stellar-as-always job on my brows. I'll be back for the Diamond facial (I think there's a b.o.g.o 1/2 off special for the month of June) to keep going with getting my skin back on track. Also learned about the 'feathering' treatment for brows today. Sort of like tatooing (same techniques) but it's demi-permanent and not as harsh looking. They said that it requires touch up every 2 or so years. I've always loved the idea of not having to pencil in my brows every day...it'd save so much time in getting ready routine...ask my daughter - I (aka 'she') definitely need it!! Everyone here is very nice and they do a good job but they are way way over priced. I still go back so I guess I have no right to complain but I feel they'd get a lot more business if they'd just lower the prices a little or offer specials to current customers. I only see Brianne once every 6 months because I just can't afford to see her every 6 weeks when my brows need help. I get derma planing in Temecula for half the price and it also includes a mini facial. I'm alway so 50/50 on this place. I've never had a bad experience but they are just ridiculous with their pricing. I say all of this as I make an apt to see Brianne tomorrow lol. Bottom line, if you can afford it, go. If not, there are other cheaper places that also do a great job. read more

Even though my eyes were closed, I knew I was in good hands as Alexis expertly waxed and tweezed my brows back in shape. She cleaned up and shaped my brows assuredly and quickly, all the while explaining what she was doing and how to maintain my brows (as I'm currently in a 6-month brow rehab!). She also had me look in a mirror at the end of the service and gave me a tutorial on how to artfully define my brows with powder and gel. After just one visit, I noticed a huge difference! I am quite impressed with how much well-groomed brows can enhance your facial features! Her fee is a bit higher than others, but I feel like I'm getting my money's worth. I don't know how she does it, or whether she's using an awesome wax, but I noticed that maintenance/plucking between services is minimal after going to Alexis. Alexis and her team are SO sweet and make you feel so welcome and relaxed. I've been here for spray tans, facials and brows and I am obsessed. The airbrush spray tan is the best I've ever gotten, I was the perfect shade of bronze-not orange at all and the formula they use fades without getting all splotchy. She has an excellent touch and is very knowledgeable about your skin and how to deliver amazing results. I received the Rose Gua Sha facial, and every aspect completely exceeded my expectations. It's a result-driven treatment that delivers ultimate relaxation (my ideal facial treatment) Although it's my first facial, I loved this particular facial so much, I already can't wait to experience it again. Everyone kept telling me my eyebrows were too thin and out dated so I decided I wanted to have them reshaped. But when asking for referrals people were pointing me towards nail salons or little hole in the wall places. I continued to ask around until a friend of mine told me about Alexis K. The drive was a bit far for my but I was willing to give it a shot. The drive was definitely worth it! Claudia has done an amazing job reshaping my brows. Not only was she gentile and professional, she explained to me what she was doing, and how they are supposed to look. This way I can maintain them correctly between visits. Last week I had my first appointment at Alexis K. I had my brows shaped, tweezed, and tinted (by recommendation). Then, I had a custom facial, not knowing any details. I must say that Claudia took excellent care of me and my skin. I felt like I stepped up a level when it comes to my skin care. I was glowing! Now I know where women go that look extra special! I have been coming to Alexis K for various services for about 2 years. Most of the time I book appointments for eye brow waxing and lash tinting. I've seen Mia, Brianne AND finally booked an appointment with Alexis. I've always been very satisfied with my services regardless of who I see. TODAY I visited Celeste who gave me the most amazing spray tan. I haven't had a spray tan in years...in my previous experiences I've always felt "orange" and I eventually just stopped trying spray tans. I couldn't be happier with the results from today. Celeste was so nice and made me feel very comfortable about the process. It took about 15-20 minutes for the standard option (they offer an express option where you can shower much sooner) / both services take the same amount of time. I am nearly 8 hours in and I have noticed the tan develop throughout the day. The color is very natural and even / not blotchy or orange. I'd highly recommend Celeste and Alexis K -- there are a few other options for spray tans in my neighborhood BUT these are ladies you can trust to do an amazing job. read more
