I then received another bill for the balance of the bill. I refuse to pay this office they lie to the patient just to get them in the door then do everything possible to get as much money as possible from you. My first visit for my initial evaluation was OK but I had to wait in the waiting room for just under 1 hour before the evaluation even started. The evaluation went well and the Dr. seemed knowledgeable and caring. After the evaluation, I went to see Sally (not her real name) who is something like "the surgery coordinator" where we went over how the surgery process would work and the pricing. I was VERY concerned about the pricing since I have a very high deductible on my insurance. I told her this and said I want to know every cost, no surprises. At that meeting I was told that the cost of the lenses (one for each eye) would be $2150 each (not covered by insurance), the charge for the surgeon would be $700 (with my insurance plan), the surgery center would be $875 and the anesthesiologist would be about $100. I even got a piece of paper from her quoting that those were the prices. A day later, I was confused about the type of lenses (different for each eye) I was getting and during that call she confirmed that the lenses would be $2150 each. A couple weeks later, 4 days prior to my surgery, they charged my credit card for the lenses and the price was now $2950 each....a $1600 increase in total. I called to question the charge and was told by Sally that she must have made a mistake and that the charge would be the higher price....oh sorry but please pay us an extra $1600! If it was a mistake, you would think that they would be willing to try do something to keep a customer happy but no...the price is the price. Not the best customer service. I requested a refund and am now looking for another doctor.

I will say that - after five minutes in the waiting room - I'm beginning to believe there's something to Feng Shui. The front door of the office leads directly to a bathroom, and - judging from the energy levels of the reception and accounting staff - the "chi" must be surging in the door and directly down the toilet. The cure could be simply keeping the door to the bathroom closed. But what do I know? After surgery I had a lot of pain in that eye. For the pain, Dr. Frantz placed a corneal bandage lens (corneal band-aid). My vision in the right eye after surgery was not what I had been told to expect, and I remained concerned about the outcome and about the lens that had been placed. I requested my records, including my pre-op measurements, surgical plan, and lens implant information. Because my concerns continued, I sought further care. My right eye was subsequently repaired by Dr. Ferrell Tyson, and Dr. Tyson then referred me to Dr. William Trattler for continued follow-up. After Dr. Tyson's repair, my right eye is now 20-20. I am very grateful to Dr. Tyson and Dr. Trattler for their care in getting me to this result. I share my personal experience from 2018 to encourage other patients to keep copies of their biometry, lens plan, and implant card, and to seek prompt re-evaluation if they have significant pain or their vision is not as expected after surgery. ---

He even referred me to a specialist that can properly treat / monitor my condition. I have had bad experiences in the past with doctors, dentists, etc that "treat" you for something just so they can get paid.
