Alexandra Hotel was a good hotel in terms of price and location. The rooms were fairly minimalistic, has all the basic items: bed, tv, bathroom. The best part was definitely the location since it's within walking distance to several train stations that would take you right into old town, central station, and the conference center. The basic rooms are quite small though, probably would not recommend single room for someone who prefers more space. Also, the room I got had no windows, which made the 10-hour time change from California very difficult to get used to.
The service was good, I've had good experiences with most of the front desk receptionist except for a few random unexpected less-than-ideal encounters: (1) wifi access cards only last 48 hours and even though I was there for 6 nights, one of the receptionist refused to give me more than one access card. (2) I asked if I can pay to get an upgraded room since my room was so small and has no windows, the receptionist looked annoyed and just said "no, all full".
Good things about the hotel:
(1) Breakfast was nice, better than most standard american continental breakfast
(2) Sauna was really really nice, but needs to be reserved ahead of time.
Overall, nice location, good price, and works well if you're just looking for an affordable and convenient place to sleep and shower. read more
