I took our 2 doodles here for the first time and was impressed with the staff. However, I was told after the fact that they charge more for doodles than what is posted on their website because their hair takes more time. I've been taking doodles to groomers for the past 12 years and this is the first time I have been told this. Seems a bit suspicious with the rise in popularity of doodles. The groomer did a nice job except for the ears. Ears were chopped and looked very uneven. Hair inside the ears was removed from one dog but not the other. Looks like the groomer didn't know what they were doing.

Bear looks incredible after his first groom at Alexander's!! He is happy, and so are we!! Thanks AJ!!

Jackpot!! We found our new groomer!! We were trying to brush our Bear (Shepherd Husky mix) this morning and decided we should treat him to a Grooming. Our usual chain store go-to was booked until Monday so I came to yelp look for other options. After reading the reviews for Alexanders I gave them a call and luckily they had an opening in a half hour. From the customer service over the phone I knew we were going to have a great experience. We brought Bear in explained his anxiety issues and described what we wanted done and AJ suggested some options and told us it would take about 2 hours so we left and killed some time eating brunch. The entire staff there was extremely friendly and welcoming and I liked how open the space was and you could see all the stations and the kennels were all up front with the staff so dogs aren't abandoned in a back room. Two dogs were being worked on and you could see care and attention the staff was taking while grooming each dog. We got a call 10mins before Bear was finished as I explained he gets anxious being left alone and locked up in strange places, so they called to make sure we arrived by the time they were finished. We arrived and Bear looked AMAZING!! His coat was gorgeous and perfectly groomed. All the mats in his elbows butt and tail were gone and he looked like he was ready for the dog show!! You can tell AJ and the staff care about the pets and treat them like their own while handling them! The price was half what we pay at the chain stores and it was a much better job. Bear has never looked so good and he is ready to show off! He is so silky soft, all his undercoat is brushed out and he smells amazing!! We will definitely be back and we will take advantage of the tartar removal. I'm a fan of their technique and knowing I don't have to put him under to take care of his teeth!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SALON!!!

    After her cut.

I really enjoyed taking my dog to Alexander's pet grooming. They took her the same day I called in & I loved that when I came to pick her up that all the dogs were out front just hanging out with the groomers. It gave me piece of mind that she wasn't back in a cage crying. She was out enjoying her time she smells good & is soft and her cut looks great. I will be coming back.

I'm really bummed to be writing this review. I was looking forward to taking my little guy in for a grooming at Alexanders. They had so many good reviews on here and I was referred by a friend of mine who spoke very highly of them. I waited two months for the appointment which I felt was reasonable given all their 5 star reviews. I came to pick him up after a couple of hours. Everyone was super friendly and told me StanLee was good and had a good time with the other dogs there. I picked him up and when we got home I noticed his eyes were completely bloodshot. I didn't think much of it until yesterday when it wasn't getting better and I've been noticing his energy level lower than usual. I called and asked them about it and if anything had happened during his appointment but they said everything was fine (I didn't expect them to admit to anything obviously). Now I have no proof that something happened while he was there but I do know his eyes weren't like that when he was dropped off. This wasn't his first time getting groomed and he has never had this issue before. I don't really expect anything to come from this but as a first time dog owner I've learned where I should take my pup. I really wish there was some more empathy from the staff when I called in. I paid $45 (that was with 20% tip) and just wish there was more of an effort from their part. Attached is the best photo I could get of his eye. Not great but still concerning.

The third party who dropped him off was my wife who is equally as disappointed in the poor quality of your work. She specifically stated to the groomer she wanted his hair left long and there was no post grooming conversation as a different person brought him out and, in her words, it was so crowded and noisy at the time that it wasn't possible to have a discussion. It is shameful that you would choose to lie in a public forum, that speaks volumes to the type of business you run. It's worse that you've implicitly stated that my wife is lying.

    Before

I took my 6 month old Yorkie puppy to get groomed. I'm sure he was wiggly and all, but his uneven horrible haircut was just sad. I specifically gave instructions with a picture. He looks TERRIBLE. It cost me $ 88. I signed the little pad in such shock that I didn't realize I gave a tip! Never going back.

I do not usually write reviews. But it was so good, I had to. I brought in my 5 month old Shih Tzu. He had never been groomed before. He looked like a mop and his bottom was matted. I am a first time dog owner, so I had no idea what I wanted. The staff is extremely nice, helpful, and caring. You can tell they're dog people and are very gentle. They recommended some cuts to me, and I couldn't be happier with the results. They informed me on how he did when I picked him up, which I appreciated because I was a worried dog mom. The cut looks great, and my puppy wasn't completely freaked out when I picked him up. They don't just stuff the dogs in crates when they're done, they let them run around the shop to play with the other dogs. It makes it way more fun for them! Needless to say, I'm very pleased with my experience and this is where I'll continue to bring my dog.

Be VERY specific with grooming expectations. I dropped off my cute 2 year old Morkie (Maltese/Yorkie mix) for her summer grooming. I wanted her to be short and assumed the groomer knew dog breeds well enough to maintain her cute Morkie face and ears. I did not recognize my fur baby when I picked her up a few hours later. She was shaved head to toe, top to bottom - her beautiful Morkie face and ears were no more. Her nails, ears, glands were groomed well and she smelled good. I also loved the dogs were not all in kennels but running around and playing together. I am grateful her hair will grow and her beatiful Morkie appearance will return - I'm just not sure we will return to AG's.

    Nope

The staff is super friendly. But that doesn't mean that they're great groomers. I absolutely disliked it the last time but I thought I would give it another shot and NOPE... still not good. They always shave right in between the eyes. They leave some wonky uneven line, that I am pretty sure I could do better. I also noticed this time they left a bald spot right by her ear. I've asked them to trim her beard around her mouth, and they don't. Hope the pics give you all a visual. I won't be going back for "third time is a charm".

Poltergeist after his first groom ever!

Our pup was wounded during a trim, some skin snagged with the shears, and though it was superficial, she started bleeding a good bit. They cared for her like she was their own. The owner told me to call them if she ended up having any more bleeding, needed any veterinary care, or it otherwise became infected. I have a timid, sometimes reactive and aggressive dog, who needed a lot of help with training. After an hour consultation with Makenzie, we decided to do three day & train sessions where my dog would go to their facility for a half day of training one on one with Makenzie, three at home 1:1 sessions in my dog's natural environment, and three hour long group classes. The amount that I learned in these 6 weeks was absolutely mind blowing. Training your dog is about practice and consistency, and speaking your dog's language, and Dogtown gave me the confidence and the knowledge to be able to train my dog on my own. The day & train opportunities were a wonderful way to start. Makenzie would train my dog 1:1 and then would send me videos about everything they worked on during their sessions. When I came to pick her up, Makenzie would show me what they worked on and how I could practice it at home. The training sessions in my own home were incredibly helpful as well. It gave me time to practice with my dog(s) in their natural environment and refreshers on what we had already learned, and building upon the skills she was learning. The group sessions were amazing for my dog, and any dog, to have an opportunity to practice in a new, overstimulating environment with other dogs that she doesn't know. Since she is apprehensive around other dogs, this was amazing practice for her. On top of everything else, the team is so friendly and kind, and the trainers are so knowledgable. I had the chance to take a group class with their trainer Maren and she was wonderful as well. Thank you to the team for teaching both me and my dog the skills to be better trained.
