If you're looking for incredible chocolate, wine, or even dinner nights- you can't find better. While the prices are high, it's a little bite of luxury and they do have some incredible wines around $20 You can't beat the service. I didn't realize but I ran into one of the gentleman on a walk along the river and the morning and both fellows are sweet and wonderful. What an amazing little find. We were a larger group and were greeted when we walked in. The store is clean, organized, and has a great variety of products. There are samples of their different house made chocolates to try. They have sipping chocolate that is definitely some of the best I've ever had. Such high quality. Great service and it is clear that the owners love what they do and provide great customer service. We left with the peru chocolate bar, some sipping chocolate, and packaged sipping chocolate. Is this place good enough for a trip to Pendleton? Just maybe. The proprietor is awesome. I couldn't stay and talk, but he definitely loves chocolate, and wants to help you choose the right one. We wandered in here last Monday mainly because the wife saw chocolates and wine, or maybe because it was cold outside with the overnight snow. Nah, it was because she saw chocolates and wine. The two owners (I'm presuming) were very nice fellows, with one of them bringing out a sample of a sipping chocolate (I dare not call it hot chocolate lol). I am not a big chocolate consumer, but this sample as thick as it was was quite tasty. If that is how their chocolates are overall then they have it going as far as chocolate connoisseurs go. I only stayed inside for a few moments, but when the wife came out she possessed one their bags of said chocolate mix for future enjoyment. She stated it was pricey, but worth it. She is pretty frugal, so I'll take her word for it. If you are into chocolate and/or wine you should put this on your bucket list of places to visit in Pendleton. read more

Unique chocolatier, making their own chocolates, starting with the raw bean. They source their chocolate beans the way others source coffee beans and wine grapes. The chocolates and cocoas sold in the shop reflect this attention to detail and deep knowledge. The shop is very comfortable and classic. There is a wine bar off to the side, for wine/chocolate pairings, however, children are welcome in the rest of the establishment. The coffee is excellent too, whether you order a basic cup of Joe or an espresso drink. The owners are super friendly and engaging. When you get tired of walking around, and need a pick-me-up, stop by Alexander's to have a coffee and some chocolate, and good conversation. I would like to further express admiration for these two. They were initially interested in opening their shop in Walla Walla, but the rents were so high, they weren't sure the numbers would work. So they went out to Pendleton, taking a huge risk away from the foo-foo tourist crowd. They believe in their product, and they love Pendleton. They do appear in Walla Walla for various events, and are keeping an eye open for a retail opportunity. For now, they are well worth a 45 minute drive. Their chocolates are available on their website as well, and I hope everyone who loves chocolate will give them a chance. And for the record, these guys have class. They spoke highly of their competitor, Bright's Candies. It is so easy to trash a competitor, but if you ask about Bright's at Alexander's, you will hear only praise. If I could give a ten star rating I would. Had a visit today with my best friend. Sampled sipping chocolate it was literally to die for. We ordered cannolis, I had vanilla filling my bestie ordered cognac. They seemed pricy until the first bite. Omg! This man is a genius, a chocolate genius. We sat outside bistro style and enjoyed our decadent treats and as we laughed and commented every compliment we could muster this is the statement that summed up the cannolis. Brandi said, "If this cannoli fell on the ground I would still eat it!" I said, "So would I!!!!". So go, eat the cannoli and be ready for a chocolate experience that will blow your mind from Alexanders. Enjoy! read more

AN ABSOLUTE MUST when visiting Pendleton! After the underground tour, my wife and I stepped into this shop, and were immediately greeted with the wonderful smell of all things chocolate. We were then treated to a sample of the most amazing drinking chocolate, served by a friendly gentleman who immediately engaged us in conversation. Upon discovering that we had not made dinner plans yet, a suggestion was made to try Plateau at the Wildhorse resort. Before I knew it, another kind gentleman had the phone at his ear, inquiring about a dinner reservation for us...talk about customer service! Meanwhile, my wife was in chocolate and wine heaven...the walls were filled with delights of both kinds. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to indulge in the wine tasting, but couldn't resist picking up the most delightful hand-made (in-house) chocolate covered almonds and coconut macaroons. I can't say enough good things about this little shop. We will always make time to stop in for a friendly smile and a delicious treat. read more

Exquisite, deeelicious fine quality chocolates in Pendleton?? Believe it folks. We walked into this little shop not thinking anything would wow our sweet tooth, maybe get a palatable piece of chocolate but nothing more. At the counter we were offered a sample of drinking chocolate and in those few sips I knew this place was the real deal. Besides this sample, the store was swimming in samples which I thought was very generous of the owner. I asked the owner, the chocolate God, Alexander, what he was doing here in the middle of such a small town and he replied, "I like the people here". Well, FYI Alexander, the people of Seattle are really really nice, too..;) We bought a variety of some of the chocolates that were in the case while drooling listening to Alexander describe them. He offered to box them up but we said not to bother because these bad boys were not going to last more than mere minutes. He told us not to eat them too fast because they were meant to be enjoyed slowly. The drive back to Walla Walla with the delicious melt in your mouth chocolate morsels were more much, much than the doctor ordered. What a class act in Lil ole Pendleton. Wow is ALL I can say about this gem situated in this charming small town. I ordered a couple of pieces of chocolate as well as a chocolate chip cookie dipped in some dark chocolate. This is by far my favorite find in Pendleton. A friend and I were recently exploring downtown, and came across this chocolate and wine shop. The owners were amazing - super friendly and inviting. Plus, they are very knowledgeable about their products and gave us lots of great information. We went there 3 times in 12 hours - once for a piece of cheesecake made in house, once for a mocha made with their sipping chocolate, and once again to buy souvenirs to bring back to family and friends. Everything we tried and bought was insanely delicious. I would go back to Pendleton just for that mocha. read more

When you walk in, the atmosphere takes you straight to Italy, I swear It was beautiful and completely random.
