Well. I wanted to accompany this review with a pic of our "delectables", but the cannoli only made it to the table outside the door before we ravaged the poor thing! I've always thought cannolis looked so delicious...But every time I buy them they are lackluster at best, the flavor just not on point. Not at Alexander's! Our freshly made cannoli was large and hubs and I throughly enjoyed every morsel. It was delicious and gorgeous, just as every cannoli should be. We also bought two cookies and one piece of decadent chocolate each. According to my MIL, some chocolates are meant to be revered, savored. I plan to savor mine, but not until I'm in the space to appreciate it. Alexander's is definitely one such chocolate. Buy yourself even one piece. And then savor it. Enjoy. read more

Inside out: this place is charming, elegant, and full of class. It's a cozy store in a beautiful old building- decorated warmly. If you're looking for incredible chocolate, wine, or even dinner nights- you can't find better. While the prices are high, it's a little bite of luxury and they do have some incredible wines around $20 You can't beat the service. I didn't realize but I ran into one of the gentleman on a walk along the river and the morning and both fellows are sweet and wonderful. The hot chocolate if you make it right at home can chase the cold or sad out or anyone. Highly recommend stopping in and at least getting yourself a small treat! read more

What an amazing little find. We were a larger group and were greeted when we walked in. The store is clean, organized, and has a great variety of products. There are samples of their different house made chocolates to try. They have sipping chocolate that is definitely some of the best I've ever had. Such high quality. Great service and it is clear that the owners love what they do and provide great customer service. We left with the peru chocolate bar, some sipping chocolate, and packaged sipping chocolate. Glad we could stop by our trip to Portland! read more

Is this place good enough for a trip to Pendleton? Just maybe. The proprietor is awesome. I couldn't stay and talk, but he definitely loves chocolate, and wants to help you choose the right one. All the different kinds and sourced chocolates seems like a chocoholics dream, albeit an expensive dream. Though, I suspect that it is all rich enough that one doesn't need that much. Looking forward to coming back here and doing some chocolate-wine pairings. read more

We love this place! I think we gain 10 lbs when we are in Pendleton for Round-up because of them. I am addicted to the Quad chocolate brownies and I've heard that some people even need 2 sittings to eat one! Husband loves the cannoli. read more

We wandered in here last Monday mainly because the wife saw chocolates and wine, or maybe because it was cold outside with the overnight snow. Nah, it was because she saw chocolates and wine. The two owners (I'm presuming) were very nice fellows, with one of them bringing out a sample of a sipping chocolate (I dare not call it hot chocolate lol). I am not a big chocolate consumer, but this sample as thick as it was was quite tasty. If that is how their chocolates are overall then they have it going as far as chocolate connoisseurs go. I only stayed inside for a few moments, but when the wife came out she possessed one their bags of said chocolate mix for future enjoyment. She stated it was pricey, but worth it. She is pretty frugal, so I'll take her word for it. If you are into chocolate and/or wine you should put this on your bucket list of places to visit in Pendleton. read more

We stopped here one evening on our drive from Colorado to Portland. Wea had some sipping chocolate and perused the offerings. The sipping chocolate was memorable: luxurious, silky, smooth, and opulent, yet it was not cloying. The proprietors were friendly, gracious and knowledgeable. We highly recommend a visit. We will stop in Pendelton on our way home, just to make a second visit. read more

Hands down the best chocolate! This place will change you in so many ways on chocolate and wine. You cannot go thru Pendleton and not stop here! Their chocolate is not only on a different level, it is a work of art! Very friendly and educational, and did I mention it's the best chocolate? read more

Had such a lovely wine and chocolate tasting here with friends! The sommelier was so knowledgeable and down to earth. Seriously the best part of my road trip. We came in with a huge crowd of people and the owners were so welcoming. Unbelievable chocolates (I'm craving them still), hot cocoa (so similar to Italy) and the care and pride of the owners make me wish I lived near Pendleton just for this shop. I wish I could of tried everything. Wow, just wow! Is there an online store?!?! read more

I visited there during round up this year and tried their sipping chocolate that was very very awesome, they're chocolates they are proud of them and you definitely see that in the prices they're very good but quite expensive the place is a little bit too snooty for me read more

What a sweet and delightful shop to stop in to. The staff are all very attentive and knowledgeable and so very welcoming. A sampling of their sipping chocolate was absolute perfection and just enough to get our taste buds craving more. Walked out of there with some gelato, a cold drink, and some sinfully delicious chocolate and huge smiles on all of our faces. read more

I am so happy that this place came to Pendleton because the chocolate and bakery are amazing. I have never tasted chocolate like this before... THIS IS A DONT MISS when in town. Additionally, they have added a bakery where everything is made from scratch... Who does that these days? I love this place... It's a little expensive but for the quality you get it's well worth the money! read more

Small shop. So as there was a party already there, I left. But if you're looking for date night activities, give them a try.

Real nice owners offer exquisite chocolate in a town in which you wouldn't expect it. The heralded milk shake lived up to its billing: probably the best I've ever had (no exaggeration.) Get out the money clip as prices are above and beyond, e.g., $7.50 for said shake. They offer local wine favorites like Zerba and provide an A-style presentation. read more

This place is a MUST-go if you're in Pendleton. The owners are so kind and the chocolate is phenomenal. I had a mocha that was just about the best coffee drink I've EVER had. This shop is just all-around exquisite read more

Unique chocolatier, making their own chocolates, starting with the raw bean. They source their chocolate beans the way others source coffee beans and wine grapes. The chocolates and cocoas sold in the shop reflect this attention to detail and deep knowledge. The shop is very comfortable and classic. There is a wine bar off to the side, for wine/chocolate pairings, however, children are welcome in the rest of the establishment. The coffee is excellent too, whether you order a basic cup of Joe or an espresso drink. The owners are super friendly and engaging. When you get tired of walking around, and need a pick-me-up, stop by Alexander's to have a coffee and some chocolate, and good conversation. I would like to further express admiration for these two. They were initially interested in opening their shop in Walla Walla, but the rents were so high, they weren't sure the numbers would work. So they went out to Pendleton, taking a huge risk away from the foo-foo tourist crowd. They believe in their product, and they love Pendleton. They do appear in Walla Walla for various events, and are keeping an eye open for a retail opportunity. For now, they are well worth a 45 minute drive. Their chocolates are available on their website as well, and I hope everyone who loves chocolate will give them a chance. And for the record, these guys have class. They spoke highly of their competitor, Bright's Candies. It is so easy to trash a competitor, but if you ask about Bright's at Alexander's, you will hear only praise. These are the type of people we should support and encourage in our communities. Oh, and don't forget, the chocolate is the best ever!!!! read more

Seriously the nicest people you will ever meet in here! Stopped in after the Underground Tour and I'm so glad we did! I dont understand why this is in the top of things to do in Pendleton. Its a small shop with cocolates and wine, sure its a neet little shop, but not a top place to check out. There is an interesting selection your not going to find for miles around but $9 for a 2 oz bar? Unless you have a wad to blow on high quality chocolates why would you visit here? read more

Exquisite, deeelicious fine quality chocolates in Pendleton?? Believe it folks. We walked into this little shop not thinking anything would wow our sweet tooth, maybe get a palatable piece of chocolate but nothing more. At the counter we were offered a sample of drinking chocolate and in those few sips I knew this place was the real deal. Besides this sample, the store was swimming in samples which I thought was very generous of the owner. I asked the owner, the chocolate God, Alexander, what he was doing here in the middle of such a small town and he replied, "I like the people here". Well, FYI Alexander, the people of Seattle are really really nice, too..;) We bought a variety of some of the chocolates that were in the case while drooling listening to Alexander describe them. He offered to box them up but we said not to bother because these bad boys were not going to last more than mere minutes. He told us not to eat them too fast because they were meant to be enjoyed slowly. The drive back to Walla Walla with the delicious melt in your mouth chocolate morsels were more much, much than the doctor ordered. What a class act in Lil ole Pendleton. Who cares about the wool blankets, go there for this chocolate shop. read more

If I could give a ten star rating I would. Had a visit today with my best friend. Sampled sipping chocolate it was literally to die for. We ordered cannolis, I had vanilla filling my bestie ordered cognac. They seemed pricy until the first bite. Omg! This man is a genius, a chocolate genius. We sat outside bistro style and enjoyed our decadent treats and as we laughed and commented every compliment we could muster this is the statement that summed up the cannolis. Brandi said, "If this cannoli fell on the ground I would still eat it!" I said, "So would I!!!!". So go, eat the cannoli and be ready for a chocolate experience that will blow your mind from Alexanders. Enjoy! read more

AN ABSOLUTE MUST when visiting Pendleton! After the underground tour, my wife and I stepped into this shop, and were immediately greeted with the wonderful smell of all things chocolate. We were then treated to a sample of the most amazing drinking chocolate, served by a friendly gentleman who immediately engaged us in conversation. Upon discovering that we had not made dinner plans yet, a suggestion was made to try Plateau at the Wildhorse resort. Before I knew it, another kind gentleman had the phone at his ear, inquiring about a dinner reservation for us...talk about customer service! Meanwhile, my wife was in chocolate and wine heaven...the walls were filled with delights of both kinds. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to indulge in the wine tasting, but couldn't resist picking up the most delightful hand-made (in-house) chocolate covered almonds and coconut macaroons. I can't say enough good things about this little shop. We will always make time to stop in for a friendly smile and a delicious treat. read more

Wow is ALL I can say about this gem situated in this charming small town. I ordered a couple of pieces of chocolate as well as a chocolate chip cookie dipped in some dark chocolate. I can only sing it's praise. The owner was very friendly and educated me about the 40 thousand varieties of chocolate. I saved the cookie until later that night. It was sumptuous and yet light. Check this gem out! read more

They were very helpful, informative and passionate about their art. Fantastic samples and guidance for making the right choice from a large selection of house made chocolates. Amazing chocolate and nice store. As a fan of higher end artisan chocolate this place is wonderful.

Stopped in today to check it out. What an experience, amazing shopping chocolate, dark chocolate salted carmel was to die for as was the rest of the chocolate my family had. Sadly they are out of the sipping chocolate to purchase but we will be checking back with them to order it ASAP! Thank you so much we look forward to visiting again but for wine tasting as well! read more

What a treasure we found today! We had a sub-par lunch at a diner close by and then stumbled on the chocolate shop. What a beautiful ending to a horrible meal! The smell of exquisite chocolate greeted us along with a friendly hello from one of the owners as we came through the door. Then he offered us each a sample of their sipping chocolate, which was divine! We bought some delectable chocolates to sustain us on our drive back to Portland, along with some sipping chocolate for my girls and a mocha for me. A little spendy, but seriously worth every penny!! There is no doubt we will be back. Almost worth the drive from Portland just for that! This is a must not miss stop if you are ever in the area. read more

Found this place on accident while walking through the Pendleton farmers market. Chocolate and wine pairing tasting....how could you not? When you walk in, the atmosphere takes you straight to Italy, I swear It was beautiful and completely random. This is the kind of place you would come across tucked into a trendy neighborhood in a city. It is a hidden gem for sure. The wines were fabulous and the chocolate pairing was such a wonderful addition. Service was great, we loved meeting the owners and hearing their stories about their wine selections, it was very personal. We left with a buzz but also some wine and chocolate to go. Loved this place. read more
