The office is the most charming doctors office we have ever seen. Dr. Dave's wife greeted us warmly, and checked us in proficiently. It is a high tech office, with old fashion integrity, care, and service. Dr. Dave rocks! He has a great attitude, is obviously knowledgable, and experienced. Dr. Dave took care of my husband's issue, and we were even able to get our family flu shots done at the same time (we were planning on going to Walgreens this week to get them). Sincerely wish we had Dr. Dave's office, Access Healthcare in our hometown. Highly recommended for your Charleston medical needs.

Mount Pleasant Location: I would give this office zero stars…read moreif it'd let me. I had an extremely frustrating experience with this office and would strongly caution others. I originally came in for a routine physical, which should have been fully covered by my insurance. Instead, I was billed for standard services like bloodwork. It took SIX MONTHS of repeated calls and back-and-forth to get this addressed. Every time you call, you're routed to a call center, which makes resolving anything even more difficult. After reading other reviews, it seems like this is a common issue here. On top of that, basic accuracy seems to be a problem. I'm 5'10" and fully grown, yet they initially recorded me as 6'1". When I questioned it, my chart was later updated to 5'6" -- which is wildly inaccurate and concerning. The most frustrating part: I specifically went in last fall to establish care and ensure continuity for a prescription after moving from NC. I clearly explained that I didn't need a refill at that time since my previous doctor had just sent one in. I was told that was fine and that I could simply call when I needed a refill. When I called today, they refused to fill it and said I'd need to come in for another appointment and pay again -- completely contradicting what I was previously told. Overall, this office is disorganized, inconsistent, and incredibly frustrating to deal with. I would AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

My daughter recommended Palmetto Primary Care and Dr. Teachman. I called to make an appointment and they were very nice. They texted me a link to fill out all my forms, attach a copy of my insurance card, and pay my copay ahead of time. It was so easy and allowed me to breeze right into the appointment. The assistant was very nice and put me at ease, taking my blood pressure and history. I really liked Dr. Teachman. He said he wanted to get to know me. He took time to understand my family history and talk about my lifestyle. I felt very comfortable, not nervous, like when I usually visit a new doctor. I trust that we have a good plan moving forward for my care. Checking out was easy, and I made a follow-up appointment for 6 months. The offices and waiting room are beautiful and clean. The staff is super friendly. If you are looking for a doctor that takes time to get to know a patient and really listens while providing excellent care, this is the place for you. Highly recommend.

Dr Helen is one of the FEW medical doctors in Charleston and surrounding area who are UCIS approved, let alone as experienced as they are. What an absolutely delightful couple of humans. They were so thorough with everything. They explained the process, did up the official forms and were so good with me and their other patients. They had their ducks in a row as far as knowing what needs to be done and educating their patients with what not to do. VERY IMPORTANT because the immigration process is so intimidating and complicated. Their office is located downtown so I was a bit worried about parking. However, they own the parking lot and building across the street so I was able to park for free. Their office is located in a very old building but the way they are set up works really well. Clean and organized in a tiny space. Mr Andy is totally on top of the latest requirements for UCIS and easily navigated and answered all my questions about the form. When they send you to the nearby hospital for bloodwork (included in their fee), they give you 2 maps and verbal directions on how to get there, where to park and the hours of operation at the hospital. They really want to make sure that their patients get there and have no worries. Such a personal touch!! Their fee is the same as 2 other doctors I called: $189. They do give a slight discount when a patient is paying cash (vs paying with credit card). They took the TIME to chat with me, get to know me, share with me about their own history and life's journey. That is so rare for medical doctors to do these days. I highly recommend calling them first.

She doesn't take any insurance, so she doesn't have to treble her prices to handle the ridiculous coding and systems put in place by bean counters - where most of your money seems to go to the bean counters, not care. This is a very different type of practice, I suppose you can call it concierge care. The quality, and personalization of the care really reminded me of Europe. You just pay a small fee quarterly - far less than any insurance. This covers how ever many visits and in office procedures that you need. There's no messing around with what is and isn't covered, no games with deductibles - simple no bullshit. How many people avoid US doctors, because of the financial and mental health damage that visiting a US practice can cause? This completely solves the problem and is far more affordable than the normal US way of getting care. Most health needs can and should be addressed by a GP, and with a system like this - it encourages you to visit your GP. She is focused on keeping you healthy - not prescribing the most expensive things she can find. Aside from the ease of this form of practice, she is an extremely good doctor with a highly competent staff. Especial kudos for identifying the onset of shingles BEFORE the rash appeared - getting me on pills that early saved me weeks of agony. It was really easy to make appointments, even on the same day when I needed it. I'm leaving the area, and by far my biggest regret is losing such wonderful medical care. Brilliant. Refreshing. Take your whole family down there and enrol. She limits the number of patients in her system to keep the quality high - so hurry ;-)

I was in significant pain and honestly wasn't expecting much when we arrived. First, the not-so-great: getting to the ER entrance was a little confusing. The entrance isn't particularly well marked, and once inside, the facility is little dingy. The reception staff are tucked into what feels like a little hole of an office, and the waiting room is worn. The TV was blasting, and someone was watching videos on their phone without earbuds, so it wasn't exactly a peaceful environment--but it's an ER, so I certainly wasn't expecting a spa. What impressed me was the people. The reception staff were incredibly kind. The nurses were wonderful. The attending physician was attentive, professional, and reassuring. The X-ray technician was also kind and efficient. Every single person we encountered treated me with loads of care and patience. Most importantly, the care was prompt and well organized. I was evaluated, had the X-ray I needed, and we were out in about two hours. Probably under two hours. Thank you to everyone who took care of me.
