After nearly cutting off her finger and as it turns out nicking her tendon, I got a chance to observe Dr. Diehl "operate" and repair and heal. He is reassuring, confident and the most striking difference to me is the way ALL the various staff, functions (nurses, orderly, even registration), and other doctor's in the area seem to regard his medical acumen. They know that he knows what he is doing and what the results are. NOW my family does too. He was my doctor back in 2014 when I underwent a breast augmentation and lift. At the time, as a very busy professional, I was curious about his "one-day recovery method." All went well--his method really did work. I had my surgery, and after a long weekend I was back at work with no issues. After Covid, I began experiencing health issues with my breasts, not related to my implants but rather due to an immune disease I developed. Dr. Epstein was there for me every step of the way, even though my complications had nothing to do with my implants. He always gave me an appointment, took my concerns seriously, and ultimately helped connect me to the right specialist who gave me a proper diagnosis. Earlier this year, I decided to have an explant. Dr. Epstein never hesitated or tried to convince me otherwise--he was fully supportive and performed the surgery himself. I trusted no one else. His in-office medical center is top notch, his staff is incredible, and they always made me feel comfortable and cared for. The surgery went perfectly, and thanks to Dr. Epstein, my breasts look phenomenal--as if I never even had an explant. I'm so happy with the results. More recently, I experienced a flare-up of my immune disease and needed a breast abscess drained. Even though Dr. Epstein was away internationally, he never left me without care. He made sure I was referred to the right doctor immediately and personally arranged for me to be seen and treated. He did it all from miles apart. No doctor does that! I chose to move forward here because I trusted her work and had seen her results online and on Instagram. I also paid a $250 consultation fee, which is the highest I've paid, so I went in with high expectations. During my consultation, I clearly explained that I wanted a lift along with implants and mesh. I specifically chose this practice because they offer mesh procedures. My bill was not itemized. It only listed surgery, implants, and anesthesia. The mesh wasn't listed, so I called the office to confirm and was told it was included. Based on that, I believed everything we discussed, including the lift, was part of the plan. On the day of surgery, when I reviewed my consent, I questioned why the lift wasn't listed. I brought this up to the nurse practitioner, who said she would speak to the doctor. When the doctor came in, I was told I did not need a lift and that my breasts were fine and symmetric, and that the implants and mesh would allow them to fall into place and give me the look I wanted. Based on that reassurance, I moved forward. Since the day after surgery and throughout all my follow-ups, I've expressed that I wasn't happy. By around week 3, I noticed sagging and was told it would improve and fall into place by 6 months. Now 6 months later, that didn't happen. My breasts are sagging more than before, I can't wear certain clothes I used to, and it has really affected my confidence. At my recent visit, I was told a lift may not be safe and that I signed a consent that did not include it. While I understand consent is important, I had already brought this up before surgery and moved forward based on what I was told at that time.
