I do not give out 5 stars loosely. It's gotta be close to perfect to earn 5 stars in my book and Alex Studio meets the criteria. It started with a Groupon. We purchased a deal then were able to schedule a shoot right away. The pictures came out beautiful and crisp. They retouch (photoshop), to your discretion which can make you look 5lbs slimmer. :) The finished prints were cinematic and stunning. A week later, we hired Alex on another shoot and he definitely delivered. He met us up on location and was very courteous, professional and easy going. He explained to us that he shoots everything from weddings to Birthdays and any special occasions in between. He's been all around the world capturing weddings and his portfolio is impressive. Professional and affordable! I'm an artist and understand composition, so choosing a photographer was one of the hardest things for me when planning my wedding. The best photographers didn't fit my budget, and less expensive photographers just didn't measure up... until I found Alex Studio! They have an impressive portfolio and reasonable pricing! We even got an extra photographer for our wedding at no extra charge (our wedding was part of his interview). All of the photos came out amazing, and the photographers were very attentive throughout the entire event. (so much so that I insisted on having a photo taken with one of the photographers!) I got married two years ago and used Alex Studio as my photographers. I originally saw my friends photos and loved them so asked for her photographers info, which was Alex! I used these guys for my wedding shoot. I saw their work from my friends weddings and was pleased, so I decided to give them a shot. What I found comforting in going with a studio was that there were back up photographers in the event any one is sick. Reasonable priced for the industry. BEFORE WEDDING DAY: I wasn't too happy with how someone was telling me how something on my wedding day schedule was not going to work and will put us back, and than asking to revise the schedule. Umm NO! One of the sites I was going to shoot at on my wedding day, I worked there for ten years, don't tell me how long it'll take to walk from point A to B when I've worked there for TEN years. DAY OF: These guys were really fun to work with when I expressed my complaint to the lead photographer with how the studio wanted to revise my schedule, he said what I wanted to hear "we'll follow you and you can do what you want to do" Thank you. Oh yes- My entire day went exactly according to MY schedule with the exception of traffic that was out of everybody's control. AFTER THE WEDDING: I'll keep it short because I can go on and on and on and on and on. The final product was great!!! BUT, it was the constant communication required to get my final pictures that would cause me to only give them 3 stars. In summary, the final pictures were good, but I wished it wasn't so hard to get them back (Im not talking about timing of when they produced, but specific pictures I wanted back that I had to go back and forth on to receive) read more

Our engagement photos he took were amazing! So I was looking forward to our wedding. We found out not long before that he would not be there but a couple guys who with for him would. My now husband called and expressed concern because we were comfortable with him and loved his work. He was told that one of the guys coming had worked for him for years and takes similar shots. I've had my photos for almost 3 weeks and haven't shared any because I hate them. All my pictures were taken in the same place. And all have tables in the background. There are none of the breathtaking photos I see of his work. We had an amazing venue near Mt. Rainier, and that doesn't show in our pictures. My wife and I selected Alex Studio based upon the recommendation of the knot website. We were initially pleased with the services provided until it came time to receive our pictures. The owner Alex misrepresented the package we purchased and in the end we received one album, 2 8X10's and 4 5X7s for $5,000. We were very upset as we thought our package included 3 family albums. We brought this to Alex's attention. He refused to do anything for us and was actually upset that we questioned his integrity. After our meeting we received the proof of our one album. Let me just say it was awful. It might be because Alex was upset with us, but if not what a joke. The whole experience with Alex was awful. I would not recommend Alex studio to anyone as the product is subpar and the owner is unprofessional. read more

Since my husband is a photographer himself, I let him pick our wedding photographer. After researching many photographers locally in Seattle and in Hawaii, he liked Alex Studio's work the most. We hired Alex Studios in 2014 for our engagement and wedding photos. Alex was extremely dedicated and patient with us, always working to get the perfect shot. Anytime my husband or I had a question, Alex and Candy were always extremely responsive. Even after the wedding and with ordering our photo albums, they were always responsive and provided great customer service. I'm not 100% done working with Alex (he's supposed to touch up a photo or two for us) but he has been so great I couldn't wait to write this review so here it is... I found Alex's studio through yelp of course. I browsed a couple of other photographers and his pricing/style really attracted me...I felt that it was the most reasonable. Response time/correspondence regarding when/where/how we're going to meet/preferences was all really quick and easy. A lot of e-mails but Alex & his assistant were always both so fast to reply and had great suggestions when it came to understanding our style & needs. Meeting Alex was easy and he was really friendly and most of all fun. (this was so important to me because coordinating your outfit, look, and the pressure to pose and have pretty pictures can be a lot when you're pregnant, or have a lot of people...etc The thing I really liked about Alex that made him different from most photographers (from the few I've worked with) was how fast and easy he made it for someone that's not a model. He knew how to guide me and my family for all the shots and suggested great poses and was honest about what would look good or not yet kept the whole experience so light and fun like we were all just friends hanging out taking some cool photos. Our shoot was a maternity/family photoshoot and anyone with a toddler understands how challenging this can be but alex really made sure to grab my toddler's attention the whole time by dancing around or grabbing a stick to use as a prop to stay animated. In between it all he never forgot what he was there for which was to focus on the little details of our photos and reminding us of our poses, facial expressions, and hand placements. He also quickly took us around (it was an outdoor shoot) and made use of as much of the sunset and beautiful surroundings he could. (I was worried as we only booked an hour, but he definitely didn't waste any of our time and even squeezed in a handful more pictures toward the end when we were the ones that were tired) Also, the processing time for his photos were QUICK! We took photos on a fri and got notification on tues that they were ready. I'll definitely be reaching out to alex again for any other photography needs. We have Alex Studio for our wedding last year. As our family doesn't speak English, my wife double confirm with Alex if his photographers speak Chinese. Alex firmly confirmed that all of his photographers speak Chinese. When the photographer shows up in our wedding, he can only speak English (and Vietnamese I think). I have no blame to the photographer, but our family could hardly follow the photographer due to communication issue. Overall the photographer did a good job, I would actually give a 4-5 star to the photographer. However, as the rating belongs to the studio, I give a 2 stars. We had our wedding at DeLille Cellar in 2013. I have to say that we chose Alex to be our photographer at the beginning because we were impressed with his artistic vision in wedding photography. Couldn't be happier with my maternity and newborn photos! We met Alex at a BabyFest and decided to go with him despite all the other photography vendors. His work speaks for itself. He makes the maternity photo shoots so FUN and has a way with newborns...very safety conscious which I appreciated. He's even able to travel to your home (for a small fee) for newborn photo shoots! After looking at many photographers around the area, Alex Studio was reasonable price. Their portfolio looked great and the pictures were amazing. So I thought. Most of the amazing pictures were of oriental decent coupoes which of course I wasn't. I didn't think it should matter. A photographers photos should be amazing no matter the subject. I was pretty unhappy with the way my pictures came out. We were even missing key parts of our wedding. The prints that came with the photos looked like they could have been printed at Walmart for a better price. Not to mention the albums. I choose a specific color that I saw at the studio and I came with something totally different. The photo I used for my album cover was pixely. The parents album covers had notihng special on them. Didn't offer to personalize the front! Overall I am very dissatisfied with this company. The only good thing that came out of this were the groomsmen photo all because of a really talented Photographer, Brandon. If you had not choice but to choose them, ask for Brandon. He was spunky, pictures turned out GREAT!, and very friendly! Lesson learned. Choose a photographer from your area that way you have way more control of the way your album comes out and they are familiar with the area. read more
