We hired Two Handy Guys, Aleks, to construct a 10'x20' Exaco Royal Victorian Greenhouse with a metal frame and polycarbonate roof panelling. His workmanship is stellar. His knowledge of engineering and construction is extensive. Hands down, he will be our go-to guy for future projects. As we discussed the greenhouse project and our vision, he listened to our needs and understood our plans for the greenhouse. He went above and beyond to inform us of possible future problems with the structural foundation of the greenhouse if we proceeded with the original plan. He clearly communicated his concern and provided advice for better foundational support. We couldn't be happier with his design for the foundation using Trex as our flooring.  Additionally, this greenhouse had customizations in the kit that he triaged to fit. During this project, we also learned that the manufacturer had made errors in the materials provided in the kit. Aleks was very responsive, and gave a very fair quote relative to other contractors. We had him install a new sink fixture, and also re-caulk a bath and shower. I had installed part of the faucet myself (3 kids, and needed the sink working). He noticed a few things I overlooked and took the time to clean up a few of my mistakes at no charge. Amazing and affordable! We had Two Guys' Alex come and estimate the restoration or removal of our 66 year old pergola. His estimate was so reasonable, and Alex so intuitive, we knew we would be happy with any job he would do. We decided to remove the redwood pergola, and replace it with a new aluminum structure with louvered panels. Alex came when the order arrived and set to work immediately. He worked all day (in the rain) but was unable to finish. Next day he came and sussed and sourced appropriate materials for leveling the structure. He finished and cleaned up. I hired Aleks to install lattice on my existing carport 6 mos ago & 2 gates as well. He & his partner worked very hard on the project & when it was finished I thought it looked very nice . However as time went on problems started to arise. The gate came apart , the gates had to be adjusted a few times & the lattice started to come out of the frame in one of the larger sections , not to mention the lattice started to buckle. While Aleks did come out & fix these issues he refused to address the buckling lattice sections. I got a second opinion from a general contractor who specifically said that the lattice should have been supported in the middle & on the top & bottom. I told this to Aleks & he said his design was a " floating " design & therefore was done correctly & nothing more needed to be done. I told him I didn't feel comfortable with his design after having multiple problems within 6 mos. I offered to pay for the additional materials but not additional labor costs. to secure it but he refused & tried to say I was asking for a " new design". I told him that he should be considering his customer's concerns & that I'm the one that paid a lot of money & has to live with it for many years to come & would like the peace of mind that it is structurally sound. In my opinion, he let his ego get in the way of concentrating on making his customer happy & reassured. And he simply wanted more money from me to fix a design flaw that he himself is responsible for. Unfortunately having said all this, I cannot in good faith recommend him to do any more projects for me or anyone who asks me for a reference. read more
