Possibly the shabbiest post office ever. I've been coming here intermittently since I was a child and nothing has changed. In fact, I almost suspect the pic 'n' mix and other goods for sale to be of that vintage.
First off the post office isn't in the village centre which I have never quite understood. You have to navigate a busy road to get there from every direction. As with all post offices there is always a queue, what is with that?

My last visit was to exchange some euros, the rate I got wasn't the one advertised. It was better but I am not sure that's really okay.
There is a selection of general post office-type goods for sale; some cards, envelopes etc. but I would honestly pop into the shopping centre and visit somewhere else for these sort of supplies.
As I said, its shabby, behind the counter the textured wallpaper is peeling off the walls and there is very little natural light.
Unfortunately there isn't any competition and therefore pressure to improve which is a shame. I think it lowers the tone of Aldridge in general that such an important facility is poorly maintained and poorly located. read more
