AMAZING FARM AND PEOPLE!!!!! Wether it's the pumpkin patch, farm animals, petting areas, food stand, or gift shops (jam, pumpkins, pastry, fresh flowers, etc.) there's just so much to see and do. Great quality and friendly animals/staff. Family owned for generations and that's just beautiful. Went with my family and had a blast on a cloudy but good day. Went with work on a rainy day and still had a great time. Highly recommend and I'd definitely be coming back every year! Maybe even more than once a year.

You can feed the ducks at the pond (most of the time), watch and pet the goats climbing around, and see horses, cows, bunnies, sheep and more. It fills me up with joy being around nature and animals in such close proximity to a very crowded area. The staff are kind and care for the animals impeccably, which makes this special farm feel community-focused. It's one of the local go-to spots that kids and adults equally love and enjoy.

There's paths to walk, shaded picnic areas to hide under on hotter days, and over 200 animals and birds to view. Horses, cows, chickens, peacocks, potbelly bigs, rabbits, oh and... a ton of goats. One of our favourite parts is the "petting zoo" area where you can get up close and personal with goats who love scritches. The farm hands are friendly, handwash stations are available, and parking is free. What's not to like about this place? I find it very relaxing to be amongst the animals and on a farm when most of my time is spent in the city or glued to a monitor. It really puts things in perspective. In any case, I think it's worth a couple hours of your day to stop by and say hello to some majestic animals.

I'd heard about this farm, just never found the time to visit. Missed out on the popular waffles when we got here, so if you want to try them make sure you get here before 2pm. Upick fields open to the public but be sure to check the web / Insta for updates re what is available to pick on that particular day you're heading over. There is an awesome gift shop, great food options & do try the Raspberry Shake or the other Berry flavoured smoothies on sale. The nachos were great & the Tacos hit the spot. Check out the Market for other products. Select wines are on sale as well. Kids play area on-site as well. This farm is free to enter - you pay for what you buy. Customer service was excellent & the vibe is overall pleasant. Decent parking available - but I've heard it can get nutso when hundreds can turn up at certain times. Hot tip alert - don't wash your car before coming here. Will get dusty.

They host and plan weddings and special events, provide catering, and take care of all the small details for your special day. I have experienced their service first-hand working as a bartender and server at said events :) The guests gush with compliments and praise, and I am 100% decided that when I get married, it will be at Alderwood! The venue is breathtaking, and all the guests have this amazing glow as they watch their friends make their lifelong commitments on such a beautiful backdrop. I can't imagine that kind of experience anywhere else. 2. Their B&B. I haven't ever stayed in a B&B outside of Alderwood, and I only realized this week (while looking for one in Penticton) how unnaturally high Alderwood has set my expectations! The Alderwood B&B is a private wood cabin with an AMAZING walk-in shower, oversized showerhead, a murphy bed, beautiful tiled floors, architecturally interesting additions, and an adorable little kitchen. It's so affordable, too! On top of that, the farm owners serve you an amazing breakfast in the morning, you're surrounded by curious animals (emu, donkeys, muscovies), and just an incredible and warm atmosphere. Most B&Bs, as I am learning now, are just a room in someone's house! How disappointing compared to Alderwood. 3. Their butcher shop/store. Julie, one of the owners of the farm, is seriously knowledgeable about natural health and wellness, and it shows in her shop! She has everything you would ever want to feel good and enjoy your meal. Matcha tea, natural honey, local handmade products, spa items, pre-made meals, the BEST tiramisu you will EVER have, and so much more. I know that one might assume I'm biased having worked on Alderwood, but I am writing this without any prompt (and without the owners' knowledge). Because I have experienced everything they have to offer, and I've been continuously amazed, I had to review them!

The store has a bunch of alpaca wool stuff like scarf, socks, hoodie, cardigan, etc. and even wool for you to make your own stuff. The products inside the store may come from the alpaca here or from Peru, so look for the tag to check. They sometimes have a day of shaving all their alpacas and let the public join, so watch out for those fun activities. There are some parking lots right outside the store but not a tons.

After some research, & even though it's a bit of a drive, I decided to check out Jones Creek Farms. When we arrived there was a small parking lot but luckily, there weren't too many people so we found a spot towards the back. When you walk near the entrance, there is a worker next to a sign that says that all the workers are vaccinated and still choose to wear mask. Big thumbs up for that! In addition, it lists all the apple types and which rows they are in. There was even a section for Asian pears. The worker walked us toward the orchard and explained where we could pick apples (the trees with ribbons on them.) As we walked we realized many of the rows are very long, so I guess you should decide which apples you want unless you don't mind walking a lot (which we didn't mind doing.) There weren't a lot of trees with ribbons, but enough. The orchard was quiet with beautiful scenery of big hills/ mountains nearby. I took some nice photos. However, it was a bit too quiet for me. I like when it's a bit livelier. Apple picking was great, but there was no cute little market store (or at least it wasn't open when we went on a Saturday afternoon,) which I was hoping would be available to peruse. Also, no hayrides, no games, no corn maze, no cider or snacks... just apple/Asian pear or pumpkin picking. The pumpkin patch was small & very cute. The apple prices were decent and we were happy to leave with a small bag. If you would like a quiet peaceful apple picking experience, stop by at Jones Creek Farms!
