Review: Aldo Flooring / Aldo Prado
On November 12, 2025, my home was a blank canvas--it had never been painted and was in clean, original condition. I hired Aldo Flooring (Aldo Prado) to complete extensive renovations based on multiple walkthroughs, written agreements, and a signed contract. What followed was one of the most damaging and unprofessional contractor experiences I have ever encountered.
Please do not hire Aldo Prado or any crew he brings.
From the start of work, the situation deteriorated rapidly:
Mr. Prado was rarely, if ever, present at the job site.
We monitored progress through our home security system and made multiple in-person visits, repeatedly finding work not being completed as stated in the contract.
His crew trashed our home, leaving food and fruit in bedrooms used to store their tools.
A full cup of Coca-Cola was left sitting in a bedroom.
Trash was left throughout the house.
Wood nicks, holes, and damage were painted over instead of repaired.
Trim and molding that were contractually required to be replaced were simply painted over.
Mr. Prado used a low price to secure the job, then attempted to pressure for additional money later. That attempt failed--but instead, he destroyed our home and abandoned the project.
The damage caused was extensive and costly:
Kitchen cabinets were ruined, requiring us to hire Gregg's Coatings to completely redo the kitchen at a cost of $3,900, which also included repairs to the master bedroom and guest bathroom.
In the bathrooms, he sprayed a cheap tile coating that rendered one bathroom unusable.
In the upstairs bathroom, he cut a hole in the drywall, preventing the vanity from fitting properly, resulting in $900 in repairs.
He damaged and cut carpet and attempted to steal approximately $1,500 worth of carpet padding by laying new carpet over old padding. This was only prevented because we terminated the job.
We had to hire Corey Carpet in Norfolk, VA for an emergency carpet installation to make the home livable again.
Due to breach of contract, refusal to complete work, substandard workmanship, and unsafe living conditions for our family (including a two-year-old child), Aldo Flooring was terminated.
IMPORTANT LEGAL OUTCOME:
Aldo Flooring was sued in full, and the Pasquotank County Court ruled entirely in our favor.
The court found Aldo Flooring in breach of contract and ordered full repayment in the amount of $6,750 for damages and horrible workmanship.
This was not a misunderstanding. This was a court-proven failure.
I strongly advise homeowners to avoid Aldo Flooring entirely. Protect yourself, document everything, and do not be misled by low pricing--it cost us tens of thousands of dollars, emotional stress, and months of recovery to repair the damage done. read more
