Will NEVER go to aldi again they lie. Meijer's ribeyes were normally $12/$13 ish then recently they went up to $18/$19 per ribeye. Then saw an aldi commercial where they were boasting on how low their ribeyes cost compared to everyone else. So this past weekend i went to Meijer first & yes their ribeyes all around $18/$19 each. Then....went to check out aldi claim on lower priced ribeyes & guess what?? aldi's ribeyes are also $18/$19 per ribeye. So did not buy aldis ribeyes, went back to Meijer as i needed bounty & other items you cant get at aldi. Will never waste my time going to aldi again. Also when entering the store didnt have a dam quarter for a cart. Who under age 60 carries coins or cash these days??? read more

Tons of affordable vegan options! Even omnis can thrive here. I come here for produce too; Pomegranates were $0.79 each, red grapes $0.89/lb, tons of other affordable vegetables and fruits too! Also generic cheaper versions of Tagalongs (vegan and $0.89), Pringle's and Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ Sauce. There's a ton of vegan patties and such here too. Sometimes they're limited edition though; I once bought vegan soy ice cream that was SUPER good but I didn't see it here. 100% would recommend coming here for affordable eats. Where do I begin? I guess we can go back to the beginning, where it all started. It was approximately 5:30 PM when I got the phone call from my mother. In her old age, she had forgotten to get sour cream for the taco casserole she was making and knew I would be in the neighborhood. I agreed to help my mother get her lite sour cream. To complete my promise, I decided to stop at my local Aldi. I thought to myself "Aldi is quick, convenient, cheap, and I can just run in and out" ... I would soon discover; this would not be my reality. I entered the Aldi with haste. I found the lite sour cream my mother desperately craved for her taco casserole and approached the registers. On my arrival, 2 out of the 3 registers turned off their glowing lights indicating that I could not proceed to those cashier's lane. Which was understandable. At this time, there was only one lady in line at the open register and I would stand patiently behind her. The lady in front of me was sweet, kind, and apologetic that she had so many groceries compared to my one item of 86 cents lite sour cream. I reassured her it was no problem and she had nothing to be sorry about. Once the cashier finished ringing up the lady's items, the total reached ~$124. The lady was in a panic as you see she only had $90 on her. The cashier started voiding off items to get the price lower. Every so often the manager would have to confirm the voids the cashier was doing, and the voids would continue. The lady was in a panic, embarrassed. As all this chaos was going on, the manager advised the other cashier to open up. I thought to myself, "This is it! I can finally buy my 86 cents lite sour cream and be on my way!" ... Again, I would discover this would not be my reality. Instead of calling over the next customer (me), the manager was allowing people who were just approaching the line swarm to the next lane like cattle. I was crushed. Defeated. I look ahead to see the lady and cashier are still deciding on items to void off to reach the lady's goal of $90 (with tax). It was going on 9 minutes at this time of me waiting in line to get my one item of 86 cents lite sour cream, seeming to be no end in sight. Finally, the total came down and the lady was able to hand over her cash in exchange for her groceries. At this point, I was livid. I was waiting for the cashier to apologize for the wait to tell him how unacceptable it was that I was not even considered to be the first in line when they opened the next register lane up. However, this never happened. I walked up to the cashier... lite sour cream in hand... handed it over to the cashier along with my one bill for payment to which he replies "Is this all for you today?" ... So that brings us here, now. I did not yell at the cashier, or the manager. I did not ask why I was not automatically moved to the next lane when it opened. I just paid and left. However, I knew my story had to be told. You may be asking, "if your experience was so bad, why are you still leaving two stars?" and that is simple, I always appreciated a good deal. I rarely leave reviews for places like chain grocery stores, but since this ALDI has recently remodeled, I feel compelled to compliment them. If you've been to the brand new ALDI in Livonia accross from Costco, then you know how nice the new layout is. This location recently remodeled to the same layout. It feels like a brand new store. The produce section has basically doubled in size and the selection is pretty nice. It appears they even got new carts. I'm an unapologetic ALDI fanatic (fyi they also own Trader Joe's), and this location will now be my new go to. read more

Great prices, clean store, and polite friendly staff. The dairy products are high quality and very cheap. The eggs are A Grade, but the few times I've bought them they were just as fresh as AA Grade (judging by consistency of the white/yolk). Great prices on nuts and dried fruit, and their chocolate is delicious European style. The hams are inexpensive and frankly much better than most (if not all) grocery store hams. Breads and cereals are always reasonably priced here. The coffee is surprisingly good, and the offer light/ medium/ dark roasts and fair trade coffee. The fresh produce isn't anything special at Aldi, and there isn't a wide selection. You can find plenty of produce to make a quick salad for dinner, or standard fruits and vegetables to get you by for a few days. The selection is always slowly evolving; but come with an open mind, a slightly flexible shopping list, and you won't be disappointed. read more

The workers there are the best. When you walk up to them they sanitize the cart. They have arrows on the floors as the other stores. The produce always looks fresh and they have ample supply of all goods. The check out experience has always been good. read more

I love this place. When I was shopping at bigger grocery stores, I could easily spend close to (and often more than) $100 just buying enough food to get my partner and I through the week, no matter how strict I was about buying the least expensive things and clipping coupons when possible. At Aldi, on the other hand, we often buy two weeks of food at a time and still spend less than $100. The trick with Aldi, of course, is not going in with the expectation that you're going to find exactly what you want or as much variety as there is at other stores. Our shopping list tends to be pretty flexible: "some kind of interesting entree", "frozen vegetables?", "lunch-type stuff". Additionally, we do supplement by shopping at bulk stores, so we can buy larger packages of the products we use most often. But on average, we're still spending less than we used to. I have no complaints whatsoever when it comes to this location. It's always clean when we go (generally on weekday evenings, so I know nothing about the weekend rushes there), the staff is always friendly and available if you need help, and it makes for a wonderful shopping trip overall. I've given this location a five-star review because I just can't think of anything to keep them from getting that fifth star. I'm a big fan. read more

Solid four stars. I just relocated from Royal Oak and missed the Trader Joe's there, but Aldi is TJ's lower priced little brother, so I decided to pop into the one close to the apartment we lived in in Wyandotte. I was not disappointed. The store is clean and tidy, aisles are wide, Michigan cranberries appeared to be one of the lowest prices I've seen, and I was able to get everything on my list under $35. I'm not a fan of the Clawson Aldi - it often smells funky, not a good sign for a place selling produce - but this one so far has impressed me. read more

I'm not here to review Aldi and the products, I am only focusing on this location and the service. No matter when you shop you will wait in a line that is about 7 people deep. They will distract you by saying to move to the lane they are opening up because someone from the back is coming to fill in. Every time I get tricked into moving lanes the lane I should of stayed in is cleared before the person from the back finally comes up. The store is clean but the customer service of the employees is poor. The used to have a great friendly staff, not very much anymore. I stopped going there all the time like used to and now only use it as a last resort since it's 3 streets away. read more

This is a very nice Aldi's. It is always clean and stocked, and the staff is knowledgeable and helpful as well as friendly. Not a very large selection of fresh produce, but you can't beat the prices you find here. read more

I have experienced this at the Wyandotte store also. But after going into the Southgate, Woodhaven and Lincoln Park store at different times and seeing how they do things it seems the fault is on one person in particular at Wyan. store. She doesn't come up when she is buzzed until about 10 min. later. Apparently she doesn't like to ring the register. The other employees seem nice and efficient, but this Janelle lady causes them grief. Yesterday I was in there and the person on the register was scheduled to leave one and a half hours earlier. 6 people in line and the person putting stock out and getting the milk pulled up was the one that came up to help. The shift manager wouldn't come and help. Not the fault of the hard workers, but still irritating. If she would have came to help ring when she was needed I would have gave them 5 stars. read more
