    Our happiness comes from CHURROS!
    Jeanie B.

The Churro Man!!!! Ok, so this isn't the name of the "business" but I thought it was worth giving him a name. We went into Aldi's West Haven, CT to get a last minute item. To our surprise a man was selling churros from the back of his van. We decided to make his day and support his hard efforts by purchasing a bag of homemade churros! The first bite into the cold (we're in December) churros was to our surprise DELICIOUS!!!! It was crispy and fresh! To me just enough cinnamon and sugar dusted on these scrumptious-ness-ness!!!!!! The fact that they were cold was forgotten. Come to the Aldi's parking lot where you'll find him waving down cars to grab a bite of these lovely entities. You won't be disappointed! The jokes on us: it made our day more than it made his! $5/bag Mmmm mmmmm good!

Seemed to have more variety than derby. Just remember, you need to get there in morning for freshest produce.

You "rent" a cart outside the store for a quarter, which you get back when you return the cart to the stand.

I mostly came to sample their prepped foods though. They had way more options than I realized, including veg, chicken, and beef samosas, kebabs, curry puffs, and tandoori chicken. It looks like they had run out of quite a bit of their prepped foods too. Within 5 min someone helped me out. I got two veg samosas and a kebab. I was asked if I wanted them heated, which would take 5 min, and I said no. I paid and was able to walk out. This is a grocery store, so no place to sit and eat here. I left, heated up the food on my own. And it was great! Best samosa I've had in a while (filled with potato and standard samosa filling) and well flavored. The kebab was also great, well spiced and flavorful. It may have been a touch dry but frankly didn't detract for me. Good food, reasonably priced, and close to where I work so glad I decided to stop by!

The prices were average for most of the items that I am familiar with. I thought some of the spices were reasonably priced and the variety was expansive. Staff helped me in finding what i wanted. It is such a pleasant little spot and very easy access to I-95 if you are driving though. During the time of COVID, I don't particularly like that I can't pick up a head of cauliflower or cabbage and instead have to ask the people behind the stand to do it for me. I thought the mask wearing was to prevent the spread of the virus? It's news to me that one's hands are also allegedly carriers. In that case, I'm surprised the Governor of the persons residing in each STATE, do not also mandate glove wearing. I know the farm is only following orders so it's nothing against them at all. That being said, love love love this farm. Please continue to support local businesses. The connections and the bonds you create with those in your community will be what unite us and propel us forward and away from the current fear based reality.

Hindinger Farm sells fresh vegetables, fruits, jams, and other items for children, and it has a beautiful backdrop. One side of the farm overlooks the other side of the farm and the other side of the farmi overlooks this beautiful backdrop of nature on the farm. Hindubger Farms puts on live shows, and you can go shopping. There is also a playground for the kids to play. The playground is fenced in with a picnic area so parents can enjoy their food without worrying about their children's safety. You can always check their website for events, shopping, and find out which food truck will be at the farm that day. The customer service was great, and I will definitely be back.

Of all the sites we visited, this was the stand out. The fruits and vegetables are incredible... literally picture-perfect and bursting with flavor. In addition, the stand has lots of homemade products like mango salsa, horseradish mustard, and the like. These specialty items are delicious! Oh, and don't forget to pick up some of their homemade preserves. My husband and I practically overdosed on peach preserves! There is a beautiful outdoor area where kids can play, which also makes the stand a nice destination for families. Last but not least, the staff that works here is so friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed chatting with them.
