Later in the evening, my gf said the fridge smelled funny. By morning, the fridge smelled really bad of spoiled meat. I placed it in a plastic bag and attempted to return after leaving work early on Wednesday. (I had a doctor appointment Tuesday afternoon an hour away and couldn't complete the return.) The customer support person was very courteous and said she needed a manager and called for the woman in the office behind her. She, too, was courteous but paused to say she wanted to get approval from the meat department because it was over $20. Note she made a face when she opened the bag regarding the smell. (Purchase price $20.48). A woman and a man can up, and both smelled the product. Then the woman proceeded to tell me she would not complete the return because I didn't call the store the day I purchased it. Then, she went on a second defensive path to avoid a return. This involved telling me that the product smelled fine and was fine when I purchased it. Really??? Shortly thereafter, she identified herself as an owner. After a few minutes she offered a refund but only via store credit. I have never had an issue with buying any products in this store. However, I will NEVER shop at this store again. This is NOT how you treat your customers if you want to stay in business.

My late father in law was a store owner back in the 50s, 60s & early 70s and cut all his own meat. He worked at Bliss's as a meat cutter in the early 90s. I remember him talking about how great the quality of meat Bliss's had. So, now we drive there to get all of our meat each week! It is still good quality, fresh & affordable!

Obviously this is a bad company to work for…read more My other half took time off from his current job today to go in for an interview that was booked through Indeed. He was seen by Sam Jr. whom didn't know what he was there for, and when told, he handed him a paper application to fill out. When asked why he had to fill out another application, he was told " We are done here without allowing him to ask any questions and escorted him out of the building ". I have never heard of an interviewer being that rude to an applicant that asked a very valid and simple question. And if I may remind this company, even if your are the Boss, you represent the values of your company. You have no idea who knows who that walks in your door. As a company that provides products and services, I would think that you would be sensitive to that with showing respect to whomever you interact with during the course of doing your job. Although, I want to Thank you for showing your colors early in the process. By this experience, It would have been a shame if he was offered the job, took it, and then found out later how you treat your employees. If asking a very valid question gets you escorted out the building without any discussion, its obvious why they are currently hiring. You can bet I will make sure everyone I know hears about this experience.

Another Saturday exploring my hood. The prices were phenomenal l compared to main grocery stores, which I expected being from Washington DC. I really have been missing China Town. This was the closest thing to it since I moved here. I will definitely be back, they were packed, very busy, but also very quiet, which I found relieving since I have sensory issues. No loud checkouts, everyone was courteous even customers. Just people getting their groceries, no entitlement, no BS, no Facial recognition upon checkout like at Wegmans. Just good community neighbors having a polite, no rage grocery shopping. Fruits and veggies very fresh, not treated with oil made to look fresh and glossy, just fresh. I did have to be mindful of salt products, and look hard for organic, but I'm not Asian and reading labels is more time consuming, labels are written in English but tinier, and my eyes are not what they used to be. But everyone was real patient. Very clean, quiet, staff were friendly and helpful. Prepared foods as well. This will be my new go to spot, before hitting the regular grocery store. Will definitely be saving money.

He stocked up on some goods to bring home with him this time. This last time I visited I noticed that they have the viral white chocolate coated fruit ice creams so I'll be back for those in the summer for sure!
